He hicks at the rubble, then turns, bounds over the water then leaps up to the top of the other side. He unhooked a coil of rope from his pack and drops it near the edge, then takes a quick peek and listen down the rough, then the smooth tunnel.

Rough Tunnel: This tunnel curves a couple of times, so it's hard to see down there, but you think that you see a pool of water in the next room.

Smooth Tunnel: This tunnel turns to the south and then opens into a large room.

Kama descends into the chasm using the rope ladder. He makes his way across and will use Stormsong's rope to climb up the other side.
Feb 23, 2017 11:15 pm
Stormsong will man the rope. Tie it off if there's anything sturdy.
Feb 24, 2017 4:07 pm
You find a rather sturdy-looking piece of stone jutting out of the ground and manage to tie the rope off, making it easy for the others to climb up to you.
Feb 24, 2017 10:29 pm
"Anyone sense any trespassing ghouls?"
Feb 24, 2017 10:46 pm
Kama pulls himself to his feet and nods his thanks for the assistance. He steps away from the edge to allow anyone else to come up, and holds his lucky coin to his forehead.

Kama can detect nine undead creatures in the room beyond the smooth hallway.
Feb 26, 2017 6:42 am
Kama recoils a bit. "Don't know if they're ghouls, but they're definitely dead and restless. Nine of them, just down that hallway."
Feb 27, 2017 7:00 am
"That's a lot of ghoulies. Maybe we can even the odds a bit with a good old fashioned fire trap. I grabbed all that lamp oil from the entrance cave...can we lure some into a pool and ignite it with a torch -- or firebolt?"
Feb 27, 2017 5:28 pm
Kama nods. "That's a good trap. Best to set it up in a tight space like this hallway, leave them with little room to skirt around or flee."

More info about how oil works mechanically, if this helps :)
Quote:
Oil: Oil usually comes in a clay flask that holds 1 pint. As an action, you can splash the oil in this flask onto a creature within 5 feet of you or throw it up to 20 feet, shattering it on impact. Make a ranged attack against a target creature or object, treating the oil as an improvised weapon. On a hit, the target is covered in oil. If the target takes any fire damage before the oil dries (after 1 minute), the target takes an additional 5 fire damage from the burning oil. You can also pour a flask of oil on the ground to cover a 5-foot-square area, provided that the surface is level. If lit, the oil burns for 2 rounds and deals 5 fire damage to any creature that enters the area or ends its turn in the area. A creature can take this damage only once per turn.

"I'll go ahead and see if I can draw them in," volunteers Kama. "Where are you going to set it up?"
Mar 5, 2017 1:28 pm
"I think we set it up at the turn in the tunnel, when they have to slow down a bit to make the corner."

Stormsong moves to that part of the tunnel and prepares to pour out a couple of flasks to cover the area, after Kama returns from his mission to draw pursuit. He'll then run in retreat, while Xora waits with her fire arrow to ignite the oil.
OOC:
With Valcos showing zzz, do we have use of Gimblyn? Firebold would come in handy here...

OOC:
You will have use of fire bolt, no worries there
Mar 5, 2017 5:50 pm
Kama nods, and proceeds down the hallway, trying to keep an eye out for the undead.

Kama moves down the hallway, then disappears from sight as he rounds the corner. A blast furnace and a mechanical bellows powered by a waterwheel dominate this large chamber. The furnace is cold and dark, but heaps of coal are piled nearby, along with carts full of unrefined ore. The waterwheel sits in a ten-foot-wide channel cut into the floor of the room, but the channel is dry. Passages exit to the west, south, and east. The empty channel exits to the north and east.

More than a dozen withered corpses are scattered around the room. These slain dwarves and orcs are still wearing the remnants of their armor. Floating above them is a skull engulfed in green flame. As you step into the room, the dwarves begin to climb to their feet and stumble toward you.
Mar 6, 2017 2:47 pm
Gimblyn stands ready, a ball of fire in his hand.
Mar 6, 2017 4:08 pm
Kama inwardly feels relief as the bodies of the dwarves start ambling about, as they are obviously not ghouls. He counts their number, but his true attention is on the floating skull aflame; something he's never seen before, and in the presence of the undead, Kama is reasonably certain it's related.

He waits until the stumbling dwarves near (or if the skull should float towards him) before heading back down the hallway.
