OOC:
If you split the party I need confirmation on who had the letters
Feb 17, 2017 2:39 am
OOC:
Yeah, splitting the party, that never goes wrong. [/sarcasm]

Owen clicks his teeth in annoyance. He rides ahead, passing the larger fighters. "We'll run down the rider!" Gesturing to whomever is going with him. He digs his heels into his horse's side with a loud "Hiyah!"
Feb 17, 2017 3:02 am
Nar runs back to his horse, spurs it, and crosses the bridge to run down the Zombies!

"The abominations must be destroyed!"
OOC:
Nar does not have the letters

Fritz gives a firm nod to Nar and mounts his own horse.

"For Apollo!"

He gallops off behind Nar.
Feb 17, 2017 7:33 am
"Smash'em while they run!" Grok swings around and sprints to his horse, mounts, and follows Nar into the annual Zombie-On-The-Run-Smashing-Games
OOC:
Grok might have eaten the letters? In any case he doesn't have any. You might say he's illetterate...
Feb 17, 2017 8:27 am
"Wait, what? Really? We're doing this now?"

She sighs and then follows Owen so he does not end up facing the cloaked figure alone...
Feb 17, 2017 3:14 pm
Jhishma gallops over the bridge after the dark rider, wand raised high. The paladin will fire on the dark rider with eldritch fury as soon as he can see him. Seeing the wisdom in Owen's shot, Jhishma too aims at his horse.
OOC:
Although I'm posting later, I believe Jhishma is well ahead of Owen and Cyrind'ae in the chase.
OOC:
I think Jhishma has the letter from the Duke to Helge

Yeah, I do remember something about Jhishma taking the letter...

Assuming turned zombies can't outrun a horse, Nar runs down the closest one, Ugly Betty, still decoratively marked wearing Nar's javelin in her torso, and takes her shopping at the maul.
[ +- ] results
OOC:
if she is reduced to zero HP, Nar gets a bonus attack on Sad Steve; safe assumption, so rolling bonus atk
Taking the horses dash action if necessary, Nar swings is maul at Sad Steve!

@Jhishma: Because the zombies don't clear the bridge all that fast, you will not be in range of the Rider before the Rider hightails it.

@Nar: Betty is hard to kill due to Zombie's Undead Fortitude, but she goes down hard.
[ +- ] Undead Fortitude
@Nar: The attack on Sad Steve (Z2) misses.

@Grok: The attack on Reckless Robert (Z5) hits (for 11 dmg)

The rest of you are waiting for the zombies to move off the bridge, so I'll move their turn next. As Fritz passes Sad Steve, it turns and flees the other way.
The zombies have now barely cleared the bridge and you can go past them if you want. The Rider is out of sight in the woods to the east (map down). Last you saw, it was riding hard.

Each of you may now act again.

Rolls

Betty save vs lots - (1d20+3)

(4) + 3 = 7

OOC:
is The Rider on an obviously faster type of horse?
Not quite yet ready to give up the chase, Jhishma blows his horn and spurs his horse after the Dark Rider.
Feb 18, 2017 5:32 pm
Jhishma notes that the rider's horse appeared to be of a lightly and more agile build than the solid heavy horse that he is riding.
Feb 18, 2017 5:51 pm
Qralloq says:
Jhishma notes that the rider's horse appeared to be of a lightly and more agile build than the solid heavy horse that he is riding.
Ok. Jhishma is prepared to ride for two rounds, trying to get in sight of the Rider and close enough for a ranged attack (120 feet) on The Rider's horse again. Let me know if that happens...
Feb 18, 2017 7:52 pm
Owen rushes forth with Cyrind'ae in tow, aiming his crossbow at the rider. He uses kicks the horse's sides hard to try and close the gap.
Using the horses dash action if available to close the gap.
OOC:
I'll include the disadvantage in case it is still too far.

Rolls

attack 2 if needed - (1d20+8)

(5) + 8 = 13

Damage - (1d10+4)

(3) + 4 = 7

attack 1 - (1d20+8)

(9) + 8 = 17

OOC:
Nar & Grok can act , too?
Feb 19, 2017 1:08 am
Fritz grins and follows the horde. He tries to position himself close to a big cluster of them, taking into consideration the positions of Grok and Nar, so as not to create any collateral destruction. He extends his hand toward the zombies.

"I will baptise you...with flame!"
[ +- ] Burning Hands

Jhishma and Owen ride after the rider, skirting past the fleeing zombie horde. As they near the spot where the rider disappeared from, you can see movement deep in the woods. The rider is perhaps 200' away and headed into the woods at full speed. Owen looses an arrow at range from galloping horseback, but the arrow is deflected by branches between you and it.

Fritz rides up and casts his spell. Flames last up, setting upon 5 of the zombies. Their flesh crackles and hisses, and as one the five turn to attack the priest.
[ +- ] Damage Summary

Nar, Grok, and Cyrind'ae still have actions this round. Combat Map has been updated.

Seeing Fritz' fiery attack, Nar spurs his mount to run right into the fray where he'll try to thin the board for the brave padre.

"Tyr, guide my hand to do your justice!"
OOC:
he'll swing at Ragged Robert z5; I presume if he doesn't use a bonus to shift his Hunter's Mark that he can't save it for a later round and the spell ends. I'd rather hope for a bonus GWM swing on a kill or crit.
[ +- ] result
OOC:
if Robert is dead and doesn't save, bonus vs Mad Mike z6
