At this point, Geran has been asleep, let's call it 2 hours. So if he wanted to roll hit die, he could as a short rest.

Geran slowly wakes up, and is instantly confused at the scenario. What's going on? How--? he says grudgingly, wincing at the lesser, yet still lingering pain. He waits for a reply as he picks out the crust that already developed in his corneas, and rubs his eyes.

Kaio takes the keys from Jean and opens Geran's cell and manacles. "There you are - welcome back to the use of your magics," he says. "Now then. Rixon and I will find the Markindale force - which direction were they located? Jean, I would suggest you be the one to inform the sheriff of his incoming attackers, since he seems to have some respect for you. The rest of you, head for the mountains per our previous plan. Let's move." he pulls his hood up over his head and moves out into the night.

I'm not trying to be a butt here, but seems like everyone has put all their input in since there's not been any posts for a while, so I thought I'd move it along. Feel free to retcon stuff, though! Kaio does have a pretty high view of his own decisions, so he wouldn't necessarily wait around for people's input. Hope that makes sense...Last edited January 27, 2017 3:29 am

I hand Kaio the map. "This is what one of them was carrying, and this is where we encountered the two dwarves. Where they are now, only the moon and stars know." I point at the spot on the map where the body fell.

The map shows a tick mark over Willowdark, and a dotted line some 15 miles outside of the village.

Kaio and Rixon head out into the night, leaving the rest of you in the jailhouse, assuming you'll be heading for the mountains to the southeast of the village.
[ +- ] When you head outside......
you notice that the town seems abnormally quiet now. Almost as if everything has shuttered up and stopped. There is no further sound from the tavern. No one is on the street. The only real sound you hear is the sound of the water of the lake lapping at its shores.

It takes you about 15 minutes to reach the spot on the map where Xaar told you about the dwarf. When you get there, you see the dead one is still there, and is still dead. You do see the start of a trail in the grasses, but the big obvious one dies quickly. You'll need a Survival check to attempt to find another trail for the supposed escaped dwarf.

Agreed, it does not bode well. For us, Rixon whispers as they walk through the town.
