Kaio moves as close as he can without triggering a reaction. If he does trigger a reaction--any movement of any sort--he will stop moving if he is far away or will attack the sentry silently if he is close.

As you get close, you notice that the figures are definitely imposing. Even though they are seated, they look slightly off proportionately. Their limbs hang longer than they should. When you hit 20 feet away, all three guards along the leading tent wall rise in unison, sheathing the short swords they once held. They stand now, nearly 7 feet tall with their hands dangling almost to their knees. In a single motion, they step forward slightly, bringing their arms up in a fighter's ready position.
Looks kind of like this now, posture wise:

At this point, you can't see what's coming, but you are all on alert and are not surprised. So you could charge off towards the sounds or ready an action if an actionable threat presents itself.

Kaio stops in his tracks as the figures move, then begins to move slowly towards them after they assume the fighting stance. He reminds himself forcefully that they are not here to kill, but to speak to the leader of this camp. How exactly he is going to do that, he has no idea as of yet. He keeps his blade sheathed in an attempt to demonstrate his pacific approach. However, if these creatures are, as he suspects, automated constructs, he may have to get past them in order to speak to someone who can reason.

When you get to within 10 feet of the sentry, the others turn and begin walking towards you, with one hand out in front of them in a "stop" motion. The nearest one to you steps up into melee range with you.

Kaio is slightly surprised by the creature's howl, but moves immediately, ducking under the creature's reach and sprinting into the camp at full speed. He trusts Rixon to take care of himself--the man seems very competent.

Are you taking the dodge action or the dash action? Only one of them can be done at a time (both are actions).

I'd like to dodge past them, so whatever I have to do to do that. I'd like to Dash after that, but if I can't then that's OK.

As Kaio attempts to dart around the creature, it swings with its long dangling arms taking advantage of the opportunity. The first strike catches him hard in the side of the head, knocking him to the ground, unconscious.
