Chapter 3: The Darklake

Bildaweer overhears Eldreth call the drow a "filthy underdarker." At first he takes it personally, then dismisses it thinking of the emotional toll she's experienced. How are we on supplies and such lads?
Jan 30, 2017 4:08 pm
As you take stock of your supplies throughout the day, you find that you have some rations left, enough for your whole crew for a day or so. There is some fishing gear aboard that you can use if you'd like.

Water is your concern. Those of you that ended up in the drink (that is to say, all of you) noticed that the water was almost brackish feeling/tasting. Drinking the water as is would be a bad choice. You need to find a different source or a way to purify the stuff you sail in.

Not doing well on rations right now, we will need to do some fishing, and hopefully Fang can make more berries. We need to boil this water if we are going to drink it. It's bad, like demons peed in it bad.

I might be able to help with that, let fill all our pouches with the water from this river and collect them here on the boat.
OOC:
if the dm is cool with it I'd like to burn a slot and cast purify food and water on all the water and food we can collect. I haven't prepared it sence our last long rest so if we need to I can wait till then. Just let me know.

OOC:
That's fine.
Jan 30, 2017 4:54 pm
Thanks Cemos, that will certainly be a big help. I am going to join with those fishing so I need someone to take over the paddling. What say Stool, you up to it ?
Jan 30, 2017 8:07 pm
Sure Dustinfriend! I can paddle the boat! Or I can try at least! He thinks at you, happily.

As he takes over the poling/rowing, you notice that he is losing distance on the other boat, he's just not that strong a creature to be able to paddle effectively.

For those wanting to fish, make a Survival check. No dexterity checks needed this time around, you have proper gear. Now you just have to find spots that have fish.

Dustin will suggest the other boat slow down a bit so they don't lose sight of each other.

Rolls

Survival - (1d20+3)

(10) + 3 = 13

Jan 30, 2017 8:16 pm
Also if possible Dustin will have Mage hand active so he can yoink fish if he sees any by the surface.
Jan 30, 2017 8:20 pm
Cemos prepares a fish javelin with some silk rope fastened to the end of it and then tied in a slip knot around his wrist the ropeis about 10 to 15 feet long and he attempts to use it like a harpoon. alright now I have never tried this before so let's see what happens.
OOC:
plz let this be a thing all powerful dm :) to whom we give thanks.

Rolls

Survival check - (1d20+2)

(11) + 2 = 13

@Dustin - For Mage Hand, you'll need to make a Survival and a Dex check like before. Also, for grins through a Magic Surge roll (1d20, 1d100) for each minute you want to use the hand to try fishing. If you want to just do it in one line, you can: 10 Minutes Fishing (Surv +3, Dex +5, Surge, Effect) 10d20, 10d20, 10d20, 10d100 I can interpret it from there.

As for the regular fishing, I'll say that 1 Survival check accounts for 15 minutes worth of fishing time.

For the first 15 minutes that Dustin is fishing with his pole, he pulls up nothing but what appears to be seaweed and kelp of some sort. You think if you were to boil it, then dry it, you could probably eat it and sustain yourself, but it wouldn't taste very good.

Cemos, as your throw your spear into the water, you don't manage to collect any food, however, you do bring up a small locked chest, bound in rusted iron made of what you now recognize as zurkhwood.

Rolls

Surge Magic Target - (1d20)

(3) = 3

OOC:
Forget this! Create Water and Goodberries for everyone!
Jan 31, 2017 1:47 am
Dustin keeps trying but does thank Fang.

Rolls

magic thingamabob - (1d20, 1d100)

1d20 : (11) = 11

1d100 : (44) = 44

Survival roll - (1d20+3, 1d20+3, 1d20+3)

1d20+3 : (15) + 3 = 18

1d20+3 : (10) + 3 = 13

1d20+3 : (16) + 3 = 19

dexterity roll - (1d20+5, 1d20+5, 1d20+5)

1d20+5 : (15) + 5 = 20

1d20+5 : (18) + 5 = 23

1d20+5 : (5) + 5 = 10

Jan 31, 2017 3:23 am

Dustin manages to magefish 7 different fish up, weighing a grand total of 32 pounds. You yield, after cleaning and such, about 20 pounds of usable raw fish.

When you pop open the chest, you find a large quantity of blended coins, six gemstones, and a small vial full of a fizzy green liquid.

2600 cp, 700 sp, 30 gp, Chalcedony (50 gp), Chrysoprase (50 gp), Moonstone (50 gp), Onyx (50 gp), Quartz (50 gp), Sardonyx (50 gp)

Wow Cemos ! You hit the jackpot, nice catch !
Dustin smiled and handed the chest back to Cemos.

Might want to ask Bildaweer what that potion is.
Jan 31, 2017 2:17 pm
no lads we hit the jackpot, I say we put this in our community pouch so when the time comes we can all get what we need to continue our journey. As for the potion perhaps bildaweer could have a look at it and see what it is.
OOC:
who adds that to the community loot?
Jan 31, 2017 2:18 pm
bildaweer have a look at this would you cemos hands the potion to him.
