Chapter 3: The Darklake

You can just call me Nanny. It's what I've gone by most of my life. Skills? I can sew! That and I've a bit of magic, though not a lot. They said my grandmum was some natural sorceress or something. With a snap of her fingers four little balls of light streak out from her hand and spin in a circle around her. As they slow to a stop, they shimmer and become lanterns, which she arrays in a line down the middle of the craft with the lights no more than 15 feet apart, casting a subtle glow over the vessel.

A minute later, they flicker and blink out.

That's about it, I'm afraid. She says quietly.

Thank you kindly sir. Where shall I sleep. I could curl up on the floor near the front if you wanted me to. she says, batting her eyes at Dustin lightly.

He then keeps alert with all his eyes.

The woman sits up and rubs her eyes.

What? What is it? I was just lying down like that handsome young elf told me to. Can't a pretty girl get some rest? she says, pouting at you.

Yes why cant we let her get some sleep. We can take her to visit her sister. She has been nicer then most folk we have met.
Still Dustin's eyes looked for any wet foot prints indicating possibly invisible things. He also turned so his dagger was away from the womans view.

My sister? She died! I don't know why the silly boy thinks I can visit her. Unless you mean her grave, but that's back behind the shack I was living in.
