Part 2: The Bacta Run

Kiph nods, "It is not just the credentials, but the ship that will be your problem. I doubt you have...hrm...an imperial shuttle or the like?"

"Might be able to get one," Jack ponders, crossing his arms, "That sure would be convenient."

He raises a finger and asks, "Okay, how about some employees? Names, addresses if you have them, whatever you've got. People that work in or for the warehouse. Guards are good, too, but specifically I want people that process shipments."

He turns to the others, "If we can get some dirt on a few choice employees - maybe follow them around and figure out what we can about them - then we can make a fake shipment order. We can let them load up the shuttle for us, hit them in that moment and hijack it." He snaps his fingers, "Then we fly it to the Chaser. It's all the same karking stuff we would've had to do anyway, but we let them do the first half for us." He holds his hands out to the side as if to say 'whattaya think?' to the others.

"That could work..." Savi rubs his chin as he searches for potential holes in the plan. "We could also just take their place. I mean, if black mailing them proves unfruitful. We ambush them at or near their homes, assume their identities with their credentials and uniforms then walk in, out a shipment together, and fly it out."

He grins. "That's just a variation on a theme. A backup plan. I like the general idea though, Jack. It's not overly complex, which is where plans usually go wrong, yet it's devious and a bit vicious. Remind me never to piss you off." He chuckles.

"I do. Often, but generally after the fact." Jack replies with a grin.

"Either way works. I liked making our own shipment since that meant we could choose exactly how much bacta we wanted. Problem is that we're trusting our threats - blackmail, bribes or otherwise - to hold strong. Need to make sure we're not double crossed, so my plan banks on some good dirt that we could dig up." He shrugs halfheartedly, "It's a start, at least."

Savi nods. "I agree, but with the variation I suggested we can still create our own shipment. The only difference is we would be at more immediate risk since we'd be the ones in uniform in the installation actually putting everything together. If we bump into the wrong person, give the wrong answer, make a wrong turn...we'd be hard pressed to walk it back. And getting into trouble while in the belly of the beast would not be...ideal."

"Either way there is risk and payout. Which poison tastes best? I'm genuinely fine with either. As I suggested before, mine serves as a decent back up plan for if we don't dig up any usable dirt."

"Hrmm....you are certainly an inventive lot. I don't have access to Imperial employment records, but I do have a device that would enable you to gather the information you need, should you be able to get it into the right place." He forms the Ithorian equivalent of a grin. "And I may know someone from whom you can...borrow...a ship that should pass, if that becomes part of your plan."

Jack nods at Savi's explanation, "I understand now." His smile is telling.

Though he speaks to Kiph, he looks at Bo, "I think we'll be able to get the device wherever we need, if you can point us in the right direction." He seems to look for confirmation from the Rodian.

Avox listens to Jack and Savi go back and forth with Kiph, nodding occasionally. "An imperial ship might be worth a tidy sum itself. If we were able to steal it and the bacta, it may increase profits."
Feb 12, 2017 6:21 am
"Fencing an Imperial ship is a problem in its own right," Jack says uncertainly.
Feb 12, 2017 6:26 am
"There are lots of people in the galaxy that would love to have one as well." Avox argues.

Jack pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration as he takes a slow, calming breath.

Seeing the rising tension in Jack Doc decides to intervene "Asides from the fact we'd need to grab one first fencing an Imp shuttle isn't really what we're here for....maybe worth considering trying to fence it if there's not too much heat on us after the job but I've a feeling our best bet will be just to ditch it"
Feb 12, 2017 12:59 pm
"So what's this device like," Jack begins to ask Kiph, giving Doc a look of appreciation, "And where do we need to get it?"

Savi smirks as someone else has drawn Jack's frustration for a change, then refocuses on the questions and planning at hand.

Kiph presses on the even surface of his desk and a small hatch opens. A cylinder, about 2 cm wide and 5 cm long, rises up out of the desk with a hiss. He takes it and passes it to Jack. He demonstrates how to activate the device by twisting it and placing it against the wall of the shop, where it magnetizes to the wall with a clunk. "If you can get this onto a computer station in the Imperial recruiting office, it will download the data we need in about 25 seconds. I will leave it to you as to how to get access. Having two humans in your group is certainly an asset. He hands over a small datapad, of the kind used for tourists as an interactive map, after keying in some information. "The recruiting office is here, the warehouse here, and my friend who collects ships is here."
Feb 13, 2017 12:45 pm
Jack tosses the device up and catches it once, testing its weight in his hand. Looking it over a bit he says, "Sounds good, Kiph."

"That's all that I have for now. Unless these others have questions, I'm good to let you get back to your work," Jack explains, looking curiously at the others. He slips the device into a pocket on his jacket.

"I'm ready to gather some info so we can put a plan together." Savi nods at the Ithorian and gives a genuine smile. "Thanks again for your help. I'm sure this will work out for both of our benefit."
Feb 13, 2017 3:41 pm
Bo nods continuously throughout the conversation. She seems to not show any concerns about getting the device in the recruiting office.

She does state "Impwials typicwee don't unifohm Wodians. I might not be of use on the instawation. I can ahways swice from dah ship or swip by somehow."

Avox follows the others without saying anything more than a grumble.

Kiph returns to his desk and reaches below. The shades clatter back from the windows and door, allowing you to egress should you wish. As you gather he indicates the parts and supplies that your party had selected. "Shall I hold on to these, or do you wish to purchase them now?"
