MoMo sent a note to SelectiveAmnesia
As the van nears the CZ, Digit unbuckles and crawls back to one of the empty rows of seats. She buckles in once more, but then shifts until she's lying down across the row. She's left her meat enough times to know she needs to be buckled in but with her head down. With a few mental keystrokes her mind goes off into cold-sim VR as her physical form goes limp. Satisfied that her deck is still running silent, she immediately broadcasts a voice message to her team:

"I'm going to see if I can find anything of interest around here. Oh, and if you want me to cover your wireless gear, you need to give me permissions. I can cover, um... my deck should be able to handle about eight more things, besides my 'jack."

Digit takes a moment to set things up before she tries anything illegal. First she grid hops over to the Ares Global Grid to suffocate some of the public grid noise. Then she dresses her icons accordingly to make them look casual and simplistic, and her persona changes into a yellow, large-headed, big-eyed caterpillar. She shifts her programs around but remains satisfied with the current deck configuration as she takes a gander at the wireless world around her.
OOC:
I'd like to look for the signal repeaters and see which Grid they're on. I should be able to automatically see anything within 100 meters of my physical body, too, so if there's anything of interest there, that'd be nice to know! ASDF 3/5/6+2/5+1, Programs: Sneak (Program Carrier), Toolbox, Signal Scrub, Encryption.

Intuition + Computers [Data Processing] = 9 + 2 (Matrix Perception Specialty) -0 Noise (after Signal Scrub and wireless datajack), -2 Running Silent = 9 dice.

Rolls

Matrix Perception - (9d6)

(331515664) = 34

While back at the apartment, Ghost would have changed into her combat gear (armor jacket and helmet), adding to her weapons her Ares Predator with two spare clips of regular ammo, and her dart rifle. She grabbed her medic pack and binoculars, throwing them into the back of the van before taking the wheel. She drives slowly and carefully to the meet spot outside the CZ, activating her thermographic vision to see through the rain.

Rolls

Driving (pilot 2 + reaction 4, [handling 3]) - (6d6)

OOC:
I'm plugged into my vehicle so noise doesn't apply.
Going slow and steady carefully following Ghost.

Rolls

Pilot 5 + reaction 6 [Handling 3] -5 modifiers - (6d6)

OOC:
You are able to figure out the general direction of the signal repeaters. They are on the CZ Grid. Don’t seem to be any corporate interest involved. Otherwise the drive reveals little, you can see the occasional icon inside the deplorable buildings. But anyone still staying in the part of town either can’t afford comlinks or are probably hiding from someone.

Finding the exact location requires a Computer + Intuition [Dataprocessing] (6, 1 Complex action) Extended test.

You know the Airport has four runways at around 1200 meters long so it could take time to be within 100 meters of it. Same with the park, it's around 0,74 km^2.
Jan 23, 2017 10:48 am
"Ghost, Symbi, fastest way to the airport is 43 south, then hop off onto the Archer exit. From here, Garfield Park is only a little further away than the airport, but if you want that then stay on this road a ways and then take 50 north to Lake street. Otherwise they're basically on opposite sides of the Interstate. Probably going to take twenty... twenty-five minutes, or so, to go from one to the other."

Digit takes a moment to hop over the CZ Grid to avoid any interference there, attempting to see if she can narrow her search parameters in order to pinpoint the signal repeaters' locations.
OOC:
Edit: So 3 complex actions, 3 rounds, or 9 seconds to succeed, right? Do I find both with that extended action, or do I need to do the same for the other one? If that's the case, this one will have been for Midway Airport.

Rolls

Computers + Intuition (Same modifiers as last time minus specialty) - (7d6)

(4455461) = 29

Attempt #3 - (7d6)

(2432556) = 27

OOC:
You need to make two checks. You can tell that the first repeater is in the middle of the control tower.
Jan 23, 2017 8:26 pm
"One of the repeaters is in the air traffic control tower at the airport. I'll see if I can figure out anything else on it..."

Digit then redirects her attention to the other repeater, attempting to search it out.
OOC:
Edit: Yeeeesh, what bad rolls! I nearly glitched, too! Anyway, so 15 seconds to find the other one.

Ghost clicks to the group channel. "Which one first?"
Jan 24, 2017 3:04 am
my vote is for the tower. It's closer and we can get a good vantage point to scout out the surrounding area and the area around the second one.
Jan 24, 2017 8:03 am
"Tower sounds good to me! Going to see if I can get a view inside the airport, or up in the tower itself."
Jan 24, 2017 9:22 am
OOC:
To save time, I will use your Matrix Perception from earlier. I'm at work right now, and can't check the rules, but I do belive you only notice how many silent icons there are. You can notice 10 in the vicinity of the tower.
Jan 24, 2017 9:27 am
OOC:
Here's what I was able to dig up, rules-wise:

If you're trying to spot an icon that is farther than 100 meters away, this is a Simple Test: the first hit lets you spot the target and any additional hits can be used to get more information about it as mentioned above. If you're looking for an icon that is running silent (after you've determined that it's present) the test becomes an Opposed Test, with the target defending with Logic + Sleaze. Net hits are used just like you would for spotting distance targets, with the first one for spotting the target and the rest for analysis.

Ghost nods and steers the van toward the airport, again driving slowly and cautiously.
Jan 24, 2017 11:01 am
"When we get closer I can pop out my drone and scout around the place. Hopefully spotting any squatters or trouble lurking about." Symbiote relays over the comm. He follows Ghost going slow and easy.

Officially, Midway Airport has been shut down for years because it fell inside the Containment Zone. These days, its pock-marked runways still prevent any air travel other than VTOL flights, and mostly it’s business of the illegitimate kind that runs through Midway. The snow appears to have shut down the airport; a few building lights are on, but aside from the wind there’s an eerie silence that tells you that there are no flights today.

You stop too far away to see the tower clearly, but it looks dark.
OOC:
I think I found the rule I was thinking of on page SR235. "If you are trying to find an icon that's running silent the first thing you need to do is have some idea that a hidden icon is out there. You can do this with a hit from a Matrix Perception test; asking if there are icons running silent in the vicinity can be a piece of information you learn with a hit.

Once you know a silent running icon is in the vicinity, the next step is to actually find it. This is done through an Opposed Computer + Inuition [Data Processing] vs Logic + Sleaze Test. Note that if there are multiple silent running icons you have to pick randomly which one you're going to look at through the Opposed Test. So you know there are something running silent, but you have to make a new roll to discover what (or possibly several)

"The tower sounds good to me. Just tell me what to do and when to do it."
Jan 24, 2017 9:06 pm
Digit does her best to acquire all of the information she can about what may be within the airport.

Picking up ten devices around the tower. Hoping to find a camera or something, but it could also be something else. I can stay in the van and support from here, unless you want me to come along.

She flips her deck to use its Virtual Memory program, freeing up some extra space to boot up her Fork program as well.
OOC:
Digit is using Fork to use Matrix Perception on two targets at once, using the same roll against both. Any negative/positive modifiers to the roll are added from both targets, but the results of the action are determined separately.

So I had this post up a second ago, but I made 5 rolls of 9d10s, instead of 9d6s, because apparently I forgot what game I was playing, so I deleted it to avoid 10 spammy rolls

Edit: My limit for these rolls is 8.

Digit comes back in over the team comms:

Picking up some guns and commlinks around the tower. Two AKs, two Browning Ultra-Powers, and a big Enfield AS-7 liquidizer. A couple things that I can't figure out, either. Could be more guns, or more commlinks, cause I'm only picking up two at the moment, and that's a lot of firepower for only two goons.

She'll take a moment reorganize her programs to make sure she remains unseen while she confers with the group.
OOC:
A/S/D/F: 3/6+6/5/5+1, Programs: Sneak (Program Carrier), Encryption, Smoke & Mirrors (+5), Signal Scrub. Thank you for the results! If I had any net successes on these rolls, can I learn if the guns have any kind of attachments hooked up? Don't need to know too specific, but Digit would like to look for it the glasses have an image link or recording device that she could look through (with appropriate Marks), or if any of the guns have a smartgun system that she could peer through as well.
