I thought we were scouting the perimeter, not leaving.

Even if that is the case, Baern's not exactly one to think the best.
I kinda wanna apologize for this character. He's kind of an as*. But then, he's a dwarf fighting elven tendencies who lost his only love to his mortal enemies and is now certain that she's dead. So bear with him--or don't. ;P

Ulfren believes Ryyrik is heading back the way they came, or at the very least in a specific direction. What he signaled to Gunnar was exactly what Gunnar was thinking, that it's a perimeter scout.

Of course, Ulfren did not signal that to anyone inside the house nor explicitly indicate anything to Gunnar, so if there's confusion, it's 100% in-character!

CancerMan has it on the nose that the confusion is in character. Phineas is just trusting what Baern told him, and all will be cleared up when they reunite with the rest of the team. But, at that point we probably will be moving on anyway, so maybe Baern had it right all along!

No, no it's great! Was just making sure Couch was just roleplaying and it wasn't him as a player that was confused. Was just checking. I suppose my post was poorly worded. I apologize. :-)

Heh, sorry for slowing us down the last few days. Honestly, I expected everyone to say no when I asked to do an investigation! A good player is mindful of playing his character authentically, but is also mindful of the pacing of the story, and I kinda botched that up. I'm not saying its a big deal or anything, but just letting you know that I'm aware of this, and I'm going to push Phineas's careful nature to the background because I feel a need among everyone to move the story forward.

No need to apologise, my impatience and annoyance is strictly character only.

I'm just kicking myself for creating such a personality-less character.

@lenpelletier I didn't feel like you were holding us up. I actually like the conflict between Phineas' careful nature, Ryyrik's unpredictability, and Ulfren's no-nonsense attitude. I think we have a good mix here. Sure, there hasn't been great teamwork, but thanks to Ulfren's speech and everyone's reaction even this lack of unity has become great RP fuel. :-)

I have to echo everyone, lenpelletier. I'm glad Billy isn't the only Dwarf being played against type. And don't worry about HypCo. He plays a damn troublemaker in everything I've seen him do.

LOL! He does, doesn't he? Honestly, McDunno, when I created Gunnar I envisioned him the way you've been playing Wynnie in Couchlord's game. But I could never pull that off so now he's a bit of the silent loner type. Fits a sniper, I guess.

Ha! Gunnar's wisdom is WAY too high to pull off a Winnie! Playing Winnie is tough. I don't think I could do it in a real-life game. It takes a lot of thinking to rp someone who acts without thinking! Although it's more like he's thinking about 10 different things at once, none of which happen to be what he's currently talking about.
