I initially posted with my initiative, without realizing there was another page where we'd already won. Oops. Here's my turn, though!
Robin draws his dagger into his free hand, moving toward the nearest creature engaged by one of his comrades. He dips around to its flank, stabbing and slashing at any exposed weakness.

The opening volley from the Fellowship is swift and furious! Fror's mattock bats one of the creatures away before crushing another one beneath his furious strength. Inar's own attack, while more cautious than Fror's nonetheless cleanly slays the beast that had been batted aside by his fellow Dwarf.

Robin seems to disappear for a moment as he sneaks around the shambling beasts and sinks his dagger and sword into one of them. It falls to the ground with a slurpy sploosh as Robin's arrow pierces the skull of the one on the right, dropping it like a sack of rocks. Two of the beasts remain before you.

Dinner bell! back to finish this after dinner

OOC:
Wow! That was a long dinner. ;)
Being relatively mindless, the two remaining creatures don't understand the danger they are in and press the attack against the Dwarves before them. Feeding off of one another, they seem to have some level of increased effectiveness in attacking the stout Dwarves and each of them lands a hit.
OOC:
Fror takes 5 damage, Inar takes 4.

You guys are up!

Inar's slash and Gilly's quick aim take out the two remaining creatures.

Behind the fellowship, Balin nods sagely, "That was well done -- but there are far more than half a dozen of these creatures. It would be best if we saw ourselves out."
Dec 8, 2017 2:11 pm
Robin nods his head in agreement. Turning to Gilly, he asks quietly, "Are you all right?"
Dec 8, 2017 6:16 pm
"What vile creatures are they?" asks Frór as he kicks one of the corpses aside, "Some dark sorcery gone awry, no doubt! Let's git movin' back from where we came - er, wait, no... Lord Balin, is there a way out other than swimming through the tunnel under the cold pond?"
Dec 18, 2017 11:40 pm
Balin shrugs to Frór, "I do not know what these creatures are -- they were not something we came across in years past. As to the way out, I'm only aware of the one -- we were ambushed after our arrival and fought our way to the cellar. I suppose we could look about -- but there's a risk of getting cornered.."
Dec 19, 2017 11:45 pm
"It may be worth trying to find what it is that’s drawing people down here and seeing if we can put an end to it. I wouldn’t feel right leaving this behind us for others to fall under its sway"
Dec 20, 2017 10:43 am
"Whatever it was, it sounded like a bell, did it not?" He asks, hoping it might jar Balin's memory.
Jan 4, 2018 4:40 am
Balin looks at a loss when you look to him. "We were set upon shortly after we awoke in the chamber there. Given the numbers -- and our recent-enough dance with a troll, we weren't in any shape to investigate for a bell. We were lucky to find the wine cellar and lock ourselves in."

He looks about warily, "I have no love to leave a trap here for others -- except that this is sufficiently out of the way it seems unlikely to entrap many. And, if I'm being honest, I fear greater numbers than a half dozen of these beasts."
Jan 4, 2018 10:23 am
Gilly looks torn for a moment then suggests, "Much as I'd love to explore, I think getting Master Balin to safety is more important right now." She brightens, "We can always come back later!"
Jan 8, 2018 3:51 am
Balin nods. "That seems sensible. Though, I'm not sure I'd come back without quite a few more people."

Without anyone raising a fuss or a counter argument, Balin and Oin head towards the wet chamber at the south end of the room -- eager to head away from this place.
Jan 9, 2018 6:52 pm
The son of Grór strides forward to place himself in a guards position next to Balin.
