Yes, sounds good to me. The purpose of Swarley's intimidation is to find out exactly who these guys are and what they are doing here. Now knowing they are from Timore, Swarley will attempt to expand on that information since we know next to nothing about that place. I think a duration bonus is an excellent idea. Rolling 1d3 for extra "turns" to be intimidated (including this one)
As Swarley approaches he moves to stand about the same distance away as Bog, but directly to the scientist's right, so he can't look at both of us at the same time. Swarley is all but ignoring the other hooded ones; they have proven to be nothing more than pawns to the obvious leader who is currently speaking. He grabs his gourd from off his belt, takes a long pull and folds his arms, letting the gourd dangle off his wrist. Even though Swarley is a good couple of feet shorter than this gentleman, he gets the distinct impression that Swarley is still somehow looking down on him with a deadly serious glare.

"Who may or may not come t' claim these brave fallen soldiers is none of your concern, and quite frankly none of mine either. If they lay right here t' bake and decay in the sun, well then they've earned that right in my book. What *does* concern us 'deathdealers' here'r strangers from Timore rifling through our hard-won battlefield. Word is there be much uncertainty regarding your city and its allegiances. Perhaps you be enemy spies working for Nullius? And perhaps you truly are simply looting dead bodies for... experiments... Neither scenario paints ya in a pretty light in my book."

Swarley turns to the rest of his squad with a questioning look, raising one eyebrow.

"What say the rest of ya, fellas? My vote'd be t' haul the lot o' these trespassers in and hand 'em over to the city guard t' deal with. 'Course, if they told us everything they know 'bout the happenings in Timore right now, mebbe we just ferget we ever saw 'em and let them be on their way?"

Rolls

Intimidation duration - (1d3)

(1) = 1

The figure throws back his head and laughs at the accusation, "Spies!? I'm flattered you think me so subtle, but no. I'm no spy. Information is always useful, but I', just here for bodies, as I said. As far as Timore is concerned. Things have changed radically there. For better or worse depends on who you ask. I think the change is good, but many, including me, believe the new ruler is just a puppet for something else. No one has any idea who, or what, it could be though, and as a result the city is on the verge of anarchy." He tries to keep up his bravado, but it's a little forced. It's clear he simply wants to sidle away at the first opportunity. "If that will be all then, my colleagues and I will be going. We have much work to do," he says looking pleased with himself.

"Spies? No, I fear you're much worse, leech. These people are under the protection of those walls. Leave or you'll find how far their long arm reaches." Corvoso fingers his blood stained blade with obvious intent.

Overhearing the conversation as she draws nearer, Rose makes her way over to the wagon to look at its contents.

Swarley takes a step forward, now definitively inside this guy's personal space and gives an exasperated sigh. He stretches his neck up to get as close as he can to face-to-face, arms still crossed. He emphasizes his words with clear malice now.

"Information *is* useful, inn'it? However I don't believe you actually *gave* us any jes now, so that *won't* be all. The time for pleasantries has come to an end. Let me repeat myself n' be very clear; tell us what we want t' know and ye may leave *without* yer spoils of war, r'else we be taking you inside the city walls as prisoners of Iustus n' turning you over t' the city guard."
OOC:
I realize Swarley's intimidation has run out, but he is still operating with the same attitude. If any of the rest of you guys want to avoid combat here's your last chance to try and smooth things out, Swarley has not had a good feeling about these folks from the beginning and his patience has run out :)

OOC:
Was this a stealth action, or did Rose just walk right up to the wagon? Also, was there something else specific that Swarley wanted to know? I just want to make sure I don't miss anything prior to punches being thrown.

OOC:
Oh yes, Swarley is definitely still trying to get more information. Or rather, he is trying to get information period, since this guy didn't really say anything of value yet. If he is willing to talk then Swarley has questions!

What he is *not* doing anymore is trying to intimidate. His 2 turns are up, this is a simple ultimatum; give us information or be taken prisoner.

Rose is just walking right up to the wagon. She's not really the stealthy type.
Apr 28, 2017 3:04 am
A crowd of silent cloaked figures crowd around rose corralling her away from the cart. They say nothing, but as the not so discreetly nudge her away, the intent is more than clear.
May 1, 2017 1:05 pm
"Still don't wanna talk, eh? Lemme be direct; who is this new ruler in Timore? How didje come t' know there was gonna be a battle and bodies t' loot here at Iustus? What's Timore's role in all this silliness?"

Swarley attention is drawn over to where Rose is being prevented from looking into the cart by the silent ones, then he slowly turns back to their leader.

"Yer friends don't talk much, do they? Whatcha got hidin' in that cart? I thought ya said t'was just bodies ye be haulin'?"

He catches Rose's eye and gives a nod of his head over to the cart.

"Terrible things happen in a battlefield," Corvoso threatens. "Do you think anyone would remark on your bodies after the crows have dined on your eyes and tongues? Best cooperate, then we can all be about our grisly business."

The shadows sliding mercurially over his face under his hood speed up slightly, with obvious menace.

He looks a bit uneasy atthe increasing hostility, but keeps his composure, and says, I come from Timore, but I'm not from Timore, if you understand. We are reside in the mountains. (he gestures broadly off towards the surrounding peaks when says it)The new ruler is mad, and no one saw his ascent coming. It's hard to say where the power and influence came from since the usurpation was so sudden. There are numerous rumors that are whispered involving the Emporer, Lich King, the Diabolost, and others. No one is really sure, but everyone assumes that someone, or something, is backing the ruler, and supplying him with the force necessary to keep the throne. Alot of the guards have left, but others quickly took their place. The poorest of the poor don't question a steady paycheck as quickly as those better off financially. He looks over at Rose ad the other cloaked figures blankly. "They can't speak. It's part of the initiation into service. If they prove their loyalty then their voices will be returned as they progress in their duties. As for the battles...everyone knows about the violence. It's no secret and when it was rumored that the wars would come here to the very gate of Iustus, then the head of my order sent us to find suitable specimens. The cart is an example of our work." He smiles and gestures towards, and then motions for his colleagues to disperse and make way. In the cart you can see humanoid sized figures beneath a blanket. It could be the breeze, but you'd swear the figures were ever so slightly moving.
May 2, 2017 2:26 am
Standing up on his tiptoes, Bog peered into the cart. "Hey, I thought you were just after the dead ones. That one's still alive!" He looked crossly at the leader, "You said you had no stomach for murder, but these is no cadavers! I think Swarley here is right, the Captain of the Guard will want a word with you."
May 2, 2017 3:11 am
"I'm sure he will," says the cloaked figure. He motions again to his silent cohorts, and the immediately set about removing the cloths covering the wagon. Four twitching jaundiced cadavers are revealed. Each is bound, but the cloaked figures are slowly undoing the bindings... "You're captain can ask whatever they like, and I'll be happy to ask, with 100% transparency. Go and fetch this captain if you're so inclined. I'll wait."
May 2, 2017 3:52 am
Looking to the others to watch over the wagon, Bog set off running toward Iustus to fetch the city guard and their captain.
May 2, 2017 9:25 am
Seeing the robed figures loosening the twitching cadavers, Rose commands, "Stop that! Leave them be, and stand peaceably while we wait for the captain."
May 2, 2017 9:14 pm
Glancing over to the cart and the abominations being released, Swarley turns back to the leader and gives a glare with no words. As he turns his back a slow grin spreads across his face. "Finally, some action!" And he begins to limber up; cracking his thick knuckles, bending his neck from side to side, and limbering up his thighs with some quick squats.

Swarley puts his hands to his face and shouts out to Bog, "OI! DIRTY GNOME! Ye may want to assist us afore ye grab the cap'n! Just a thought!"

With his back still towards the figure, "So, ya made yer choice have ya? Good, tis been awhile since my last scrap." Swarley turns his head halfway back and catches the leader with the side of his eye, "Didn't catch yer name, fella? Swarley's mine, jes in case ye be wondering who gave ya the sound poundin' yer 'bout t' recieve."
May 3, 2017 2:03 am
"Oh no," sneers the speaker. "This is full dislosure. Any fighting at this point is on you." He turns back to his fellows and says flatly, "Continue please. Ignore her. Release them."

Upon giving his command, he looks at Swarley and says, "Pleased to meet you. Barsk Sjael. I'm interested in seeing how this plays out."

Barsk stands attentively awaiting to see his commands fulfilled. The rest of the group methodically releases the bound bodies one by one, and one by one the bodies begin to move of their own accord, and appear to be making their way off the cart unassisted.
May 3, 2017 2:27 am
Bog faintly heard Swarley's call over his panting breath, but thought it best to get the authorities involved. He continued his mad dash across the battlefield toward the keep.
May 3, 2017 9:27 am
As Rose sees the men continue to release the bodies, she sets her shield and draws her sword, an angry expression on her face. Her skin appears to become lighter in hue.
