Alright, there are two humans and two halfling Vistanis talking, which one do you target with your spell?

Now that I'm back at a computer, I fixed the link...
With the spell active, Weiryn can study a person for 3 rounds to pick up their surface thoughts (DC 15 Will to resist), and has 40 rounds (1 min/level) to do use it, unless his concentration is broken. We'll start with the closest human Vistani in the group that isn't speaking, then move in a clockwise fashion, spending about 6 rounds on each one. And if Weiryn hears Roland mention the dude watching us, I want to spend a few rounds on him, as well.

Well, it's a cone-shaped emanation so I guess you can target all fours at once and study their surface thoughts for the full duration barring anything which would break your concentration... Well, so far, none of the Vistanis seems to have noticed you casting. Let's see if they thay save now...

You manage to detect the thoughts of 3 of the 4 Vistanis. One of the speaking halfling Vistanis suddenly stops, looking around as if alerted of something, but fails to notice Weiryn concentrating. This seems to attract the attentions of his friends though. Eventually, you manage to pick up surface thoughts, mostly of them wondering what their friend is worried about.

Will save DC 15.

Weiryn frowns as he maintains his spell, and continues to watch for another minute, his hand on his holy symbol as he continues moving his lips in prayer, hoping to pick up something of their motives.

Ujjaya watches the Vistani closely (it's in his nature to be constantly watching everything closely).

Ujjaya will also notice the same things Weiryn and Roland noticed, however, they now seem alerted that something is up.

As for Weiryn, after exchanging a few words in their languages, you will see that the Vistanis are thinking of leaving and using potions to follow your group later. This last thought of their "mission" also conjures up mental images of a tall, dark, pale man composing himself in the manners of the aristocracy.

They are also still looking for who tried to cast a spell on their friend, so Weiryn can make another hide and Bluff check.

Weiryn dismisses the spell he had cast upon himself, hoping that the slight glow of his eyes doesn't give him away as he finishes his "prayer"

The four Vistanis leave, still trying to keep up appearances by having a loud conversation as they leave, but a quick glance from 3 of them towards Weiryn makes it obvious that they realized it was Weiryn who tried to cast a spell on their friend. They do not instigate hostilities however, simply being content to leave.

Weiryn will catch up with the others after the Vistani leave, committing the man's image to memory as he walks.

Once he's caught up to them, he speaks in a low voice, "Brothers, be wary. That group of Vistani has been tasked with keeping an eye on us. They intend to drink potions and follow us when we leave town, and I'm afraid that they know I'm aware of their plans."

OOC:
The image of the man I saw in their minds, was it someone we've met or seen before?
Apr 5, 2017 5:35 pm
"Ach. I'm startin' to think my cousin were right about 'em gypsies. We should be wary of 'em from now on. I don't see what else we can do though. We need to get a move on, we should just keep an eye out for trouble, as always."
Apr 5, 2017 5:45 pm
"Can't tell for sure. There are bad apples in every group," Darren says, though he does watch the departing group suspiciously as they leave, trying to memorize their faces so he can recognize them later.
Apr 5, 2017 5:46 pm
No, Weiryn has never seen that man before.
Apr 5, 2017 5:53 pm
"Tasked with keeping an eye on us? Well we will certainly keep an eye on them!" Ujjaya says. Then he has a thought, "Potions? What potions?"
Apr 5, 2017 6:16 pm
"My guess is something to keep them hidden. They did not harbor hostile thoughts toward us, as far as I could tell. My worry is, who sent them? I know it was mot the Madame...she has no need of such crude tactics..."
Apr 5, 2017 7:12 pm
"I know not," the Theurge says grimly. "The image in their minds showed me a tall, pale man with the bearings of aristocracy, so it is possible."
Apr 5, 2017 7:18 pm
"That does indeed sounds like Strahd."

Durgrim will also agree.
Apr 6, 2017 12:13 pm
"Aye, it does. We should assume they be workin' for him. And yes, Brother Silversmith, ye'r right, I shouldn't condemn them all. Suffice to say there are some bad ones out there, and we best make sure they don't get the drop on us."
OOC:
Don't remember, did Durgrim have a horse? :o

OOC:
