Chapter 4: Neverlight Grove

ah Francis you poor bastard, why did you run off like that. There is something going on in this place, something that is clouding our minds and making us do things against our will.... and I intend to have it out!
Cemos circles around to Dustin and leans in as he whispers. go around back of Eldrith and cut off any escape. as he turns around he looks at the group and pauses for a moment... look we can't move on until we fully understand what is going on here and why for some unexplained reason we all tend to loose our minds. as he says this he walks up to eldrith and looks her dead in the eye as he grabs her by the shoulders and casts zone of truth. what or who are you talking to lass? Is there someone in your mind? Why did you scream out in the Drow prison about buzzing? What buzzing? Are you hiding something from us? Tell me now!

Dustin nods slightly and does as Cemos asked of him circling wide to get near Eldith.

Dustin is taken aback by the force of Eldreth's words.

no lass your not getting off that easy. we all heard ya talking to someone or something and there is most certainly something going on down here that is messing with the minds of the lot of us. we have all been effected at least once in some way or another and you seem to be still under its grasp. look lass we all look out for each other and would do anything to help you, so please just let us help you.

Dustin then realizes something, Cemos, Eldreth has been through a lot, she was swallowed by that blasted walking plant. Maybe she is poisoned, curing her might be much better then any magics to gain some kind of mental edge. Hell we have all been through a lot and your right all of our minds have suffered. We just don't want anyone else ending up like Francis here. He ran off and this is the sad result.

Ander's brow is furrowed as this goes down. He remembers the effects whatever madness inhabits this place had on Stool and Cemos at the beach, and it seems that Francis has now suffered from it as well. He turns to the land around him, looking for signs of anything that could give clues to what is infesting this grove.

no Dustin I cured her of any poison when she fell and this has been going on long before we set out from the drow prison. there is something going on here and I will find the truth of it.

Dustin looks to Stool, "You ready to help me drag that thing back to your Sovereign ?"

Starts to drag it back.

Eldreth, Cemos saved my life. When I was poisoned he helped me or we might never have left those drow slavers. I trust him and he has helped save all of us, including yourself. I know this is all stressful, trust me it is stressful to me and everyone here. Sticking together we will make it through.

Eldrith I am sorry lass, the stress of this place and losing another friend has made me jumpy. I believe it is simply this place and the longer we stay down here the more it will affect us. Let's move on with the missing and again you have my deepest apologies. I will do all I can to study this effect and maybe find a way to combat it.
