YO, PLAYERS CLUB!!! CONGRATS!!!

You made it through the Throne Room Final Battle! And with a series of great interactions, tough decisions, and memorable entries. Man, those were just great to me.

Nothing is completely over. PCs are not yet out of the Black Ziggurat yet. That is true. Episode 1 has not come to an end.

BUT...something big just happened. The team was triumphant over The Hive. An ally (sort of, maybe, we'll see?) was placed on the Dark Throne and is knocking down Glaaki's power and influence, literally and figuratively. It has been a tough, long, taxing slog - but you guys wrecked shop!!! Really that was a LANDSLIDE!

This is a moment when the PCs just passed through to another LEVEL of experience and performance.

LEVEL.

Bro. As in +1 Character Level, right now.
As long as it is a level in a class that you already have (as discussed previously when I first mentioned this baiting tactic).

If you want to take another level in a completely new class path, that can happen in due time too, just not as an "effective immediately" type boost.

The only other qualifier I will make is this, and it only depends on what you want to do: Feats.
Tell me if you are taking another Feat and we may have to discuss whether it takes effect instantly or not. I'll be open to the possibility of it being immediate, but cannot guarantee that it takes effect instantly before we talk about it.
You know what I mean - really new stuff that is complex may need more story time to cook, like some training or background (J, all of the sudden, right now at this second, I am a HEAVY ARMOR MASTER!!!). Come on - we'll work it out though.

All other stuff - HP, Proficiency, Class powers, HD, Ability Boosts - that's all good right away.

Cool stuff then. +1 Level.
Straighten it out. And then I invite you to test drive the new fuel system if you want. Anyone who wants to paint more picture in the story is welcome to join in on the Glaakieou Murder Festival in the outer perimeter!
No rolls required. No risk of fatalities for you guys. Only requirement is a descriptive posting entry where you tell us the story of how it goes, what the character is thinking, how he performs in the killing, etc. This is just a brief indulgence to suspend rules, enjoy a good part of the story, during a good timing IRL (weekend), flex and talk shit, and then get ready to go back to work in realism deathworld next week.

Or playing it cool at the center of the room is fine also. That is a decent post perhaps too. Either way, I'm hoping to hear about the new levels and what it means for the characters in the backdrop of this scene.

Thanks, y'all. That was a freakin blast.

Level up is dopeness. Victory dance over the Hive corpses. Fuck those guys. Especially Goat.

(Pours drinks into the ground for dead homies Talius and Que)

Like J said though... we're not out yet. And leveling means jack if you die. So, I'm sure we're all on board with staying frosty and keeping shit wired tight?

Aka not dying.

I very nearly had Ivor try to get his trident back from Uthnak!

In the chaos of the Ulathi v. Glaaks, Ivor sees several spears, javelins, and yes - a pretty badass trident laying on the battlefield. It is an out-of-the-ordinary construction and style, a bit foreign looking. But sturdy and sharp. Clearly it was used by the dead Deep One lying next to it, his skull split by an axe.
Also some nets here and there.
Restock?

I won't say no to that! :-D

Haha. At this moment it's convenient when some of the main opponents of the story like the catch-and-gig method as much as Ivor.

Yeah. Ivor probably has a subscription to Net Aficionado.

Maeriks has been paying attention as he swings and thrusts with the Lotus Locust Spear. He's now a Polearm Master.

I'll be posting up later tomorrow. It may be a bit of a retcon since I'm sure you East Coasters and worse time zones will be posting all sorts of nutty stuff by the time I wake up in the morning.

Nothing too earth shattering for Bryn, but I'll take the ASI and bump up all those sweet Dex skills.

Initiative bonus = +13

Oh shit, I forgot about the proficiency bump too. Sweet.

Taking ASI for Thorn as well and getting some more Strength. Because once you get a taste of giant bursts of damage in one round, you just crave more.

X if you go full fighter with Thorn, I'm pretty sure you will have max stats in everything hahah.

OOC:
Moved this from Ep 1 ...
Thorn is the first F6 to reach and discover the secret Dark Thrones House Rule on Weapon Specialization.

Congrats, X. Thorn is awarded Weapon Specialty Group: Heavy Blades.

Yes, sure it is a little overbearing for the DM to choose for you. Guilty I guess.
But really it's just an observation on how Thorn has been played. It is supposed to be a small granted boost that reflects actual performance as established by active play. Descriptive rather than prescriptive.

Favoritism to Fighters? Of course it is. Who do you think you are talking to?
But I have not seen a 6th Level Barbarian or Rogue yet either. Haha.

Right! Deep Ones are such cheesy retro bad sci-fi monsters. That gif is on it.
Before you know it there will be a wolf-man on the scene, then a frankenstein flesh golem, then a mummy, then a vampire with a cape and hair slicked back (he'll be from Voldruv, so it will have a legit Dark Thrones feel to it).

That is what is dope track about Fighters: more ASI/Feat options than any other class! So freaking fun to move through early and mid Fighter levels when you boost up almost every other level.

That was the plan with Talius, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Thorn humbly receives Heavy Blades Award.
