Jeez, I'm trying to get caught up on the Dark Thrones mega battle. Couldn't help a HELL YEAH when Iasu took out Nabua! That's as far as I've gotten. Stay tuned.

Glad to have you back, Jabes. Yeah you have a heck of a reading assignment.

I tried to run responsible management of Iasu, but with that I’m sure he wasn’t operating optimally as with you at the controls. I did have him shoot Nabua with his eyes closed, a la Kevin Costner’s Frank Farmer in The Bodyguard. Had hoped you would enjoy that in a welcome back read-through someday. Ha!

It’s been a tough battle to manage and participate in I think, but fun and rather fascinating (for me at least) to see the wild ups and downs of a blender of combat, movement, and dice rolls churning in with the RP and strange decision making pressures of all these weird NPCs.

So jump back in the blender whenever you are ready!

I have to say, it's been an epic battle. And with all the NPCs running around, it's been a great novella to read. Thanks for putting in all those pages of work, J!

I also want to thank the RNG god for allowing bull maeriks to make excellent use of his wildshape.

I had a similar reaction to Nabua's fall, Jabes, though mine was a bit more R-rated as I recall. Welcome back, ya bloody legend!

The Bull Market on dice has been a sight to see. A great intro reveal on the wildshape phenomenon that is now in the mix.

At the very least it seems like baiting the hounds back in to this room would be a start. I doubt we can all engage in the hallway anyway.
I realize now my post didn't convey this (should have included calling out instructions to Thorn and Bryn, and then Bonus Action Dash withdrawal), but this is exactly Iasu's intent. Even if these dogs didn't come with a self-destruct protocol, this sort of skirmishing, hit-and-run tactic is Iasu's bread and butter. If allowed, will edit my post accordingly.

Taking the OOC talk here. Sorry, pet peeve.

Yeah, Iasu is definitely up for dragging Thorn out of the kill box. Bonus action disengage to prevent OA's. Set up triage near Namtur behind friendly line. Dunno if action economy will allow me to fire a shot or if stabilizing Thorn is it.

I don't know if Iasu will go with the withdrawal to the South. Elam said "Stand with Namtur and Akeen." Iasu follows Elam, not Kray.

Love the battlefield triage. And I'm already committed to holding the kill box. And that was a lot of ooc Jabes, good to move it.
Jan 15, 2019 4:23 pm
Is the killbox still the plan? If that’s the case I will hold my ground

I can get a few hits in and move if we are tossing to the gel before they go boom.
Jan 15, 2019 4:32 pm
Elam gave us a distraction, drawing some fire to the north. We keep the chaos to a minimum as long as possible by holding the north entrance, withdrawing from dogs about to go boom as needed.

The gel is feasting on corpses. Let's leave it alone as long as possible. I think we try to keep it simple, deal with the dogs and minimize risk. Playing with the gel opens up a lot more variables.

Kill box all the way. Stay away from dogs about to boom. If we need to rotate guys off the front line we do that
.

This post is a funny one, Brewer. Ha! I was laughing on a reread right now.

Good debate all around. Difficult call to make trying to decide what is best.

J, when it comes time for part 2 of alternate initiative would the swashbuckler rakish audacity bonus to initiative apply?

Rakish Audacity
Starting at 3rd level, your confidence propels you into battle. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.

X, Kray is gonna hold that spot harddd core. Iasu is going to drag Thorn to triage bro. Kray is a cold hard mofo, but, he's got a metric ton of history with Thorn.

Only one way Thorn is getting left behind X: if it's the only way.

To the rest of the group, who Kray has less or almost no history with, Thorn is one of the few Kray is willing to die for. Battle Brother. Period.

Not to be too bromantic, but Kray and Thorn have history. And Kray doesnt value life that much. So, he's going to hold the line hard and hope Iasu's field surgeon skills are dope track on Thorn.

Hmm. That's pretty compelling. It is a spent character build that has specific affect on Initiative. But it is ability score driven. DEX is not included in the factoring on purpose, and it too is written as a Modifier to Initiative by normal rules.

Ruling: You can Mod Base Initiative by 1/2 of CHA Mod. Drop fractions. Max Mod is -2.

Thorn would do the exact same thing if their positions were switched. Brothers indeed.

Great scene, J. I'm loving it, even if I'm reading from the sidelines for now.

Welcome Tsavo!

J, have you heard from Thorn?
Thorn found a portal to our world, joined the game, and is now playing a character named X. X is a centaur wizard. It took some long arguments to get J to concede that this character is exactly what Dark Thrones needed, but in the end, he saw the light, and I'm sure our lives will all be the richer for it.

Should I start writing backstory, J?
