Kray
BR6

Arrow shot miss.

Kray's arrow sails past bird, over the deck, and out into the water beyond. The bird man's mobility is impressive and frustrating, and makes for a challenging shot.
OOC:
I understand Movement goals. A few options that could work:

Fastest and most direct route to Talius: climb back down the sharp bank of roots, down into the low ground close to the deck, hug the deck line right down to the waterline, and stage up right there at the shallow water to provide "sea level" coverage to Talius and hopefully Qiu if he emerges.
Concerns: would cut off visibility of Bird and Ivor (they would be at an angle nearly directly above, with the deck itself blocking LOS), does not give high ground visibility to any developments on the water so some clarity may be lost on the ground-level view. and the visibility of the cabin itself would be completely gone.

Route for high coverage to both Ivor/Bird and Talius: roll back south and east, take the longer walk on the OTHER higher ridge (where the line of Hive guys once stood on their original charge, where Kray got injured so bad originally, where the speaking to Fingol was done). This is a longer route, but all the while could maintain within norm range bow for Ivor/Bird on the upper deck while also maintaining visual on the lake and Talius. Also keeps some high ground visibility throughout.
Concerns: It is a longer movement, and may put shots out to the lake into Long Range at least for part of the walk, for moments may put Kray a little far out from the rest of the team nearest to the cabin.

Alternate - Approach and Position on the Upper Deck itself: Kray could invest Movement to transition from the upper close bank to actually up on the edge of the upper deck itself. It would mean shimmying and climb/walking across a jumble of tree trunk, roots, and boards of the house, I'm picturing it taking Movement to end out this round and then forward paid Movement in next round (BR7) because it is a stretch of difficult terrain that requires free use of hands. But it could stage Kray up in a good position to keep range attacks going at Bird next round, open options of invading the house, open options of crossing the deck to really gain max LOS/LOF out over the lake and bringing up great visibility looking down on Talius and hopefully Qiu and his underwater oppressors if they emerge. Also gives option for close support to Ivor if necessary.
Concerns: Kray would be weaving into Bird's movement range on the deck, maybe Ivor could partition and position to help and guard, but there would be no way to guarantee total risk-free positioning since Bird may be able to lunge out for melee attack depending on circumstance.

So those are what I see as the choices.

Also this in note only, before Kray makes a decision to move...[note="Ezeriah"]Kray notices the front middle door of the cabin,
at the center of the deck, open slightly at first and then a little more. Since the door's hinges are on the side of the door frame that is closest to Kray, and the door opens outward onto the deck, Kray cannot yet see who or what is opening the door.

OOC:
Status Check:

BR6 Actions still available to: Ivor, Talius, Kray (partial, Movement decision)

X, we know Thorn is a bit out of sequence, so you have leeway to go ahead and send Thorn's actions now, but also the option to just table the side scene where it is and wait until later before you make a decision if you need more time.

Weekend time is starting up now, so no rush or obligation on anyone. I'll let you guys drive how little or how much we get done over the next couple of days. I will be in and out of comms, but I think decent options for access here and there intermittently.
May 19, 2017 11:19 pm
[note="DMJ"]I've got Thorn's next action pretty well solidified in my mind; however, part of me wants to wait and see if Thorn's shout at BR13 will have any effect whatsoever at BR14 when everyone else catches up. That might affect what he does next.

[note="Xorthan"] Right on. We can chill down for the weekend. Secret: MILFy Rutcranna will be in the mix at the very end of BR6, predict a tough Round 7 for Bird.
Who knows? Archer Kray might be able to roll out back of the house, sprint through the woods, and send some 1d8 longbow arrows down range at Mr. Phantom.

Already on the move after his errant shot, Kray calls out. "Ivor! Door's opening!"

Let's go with that one for Kray's BR6 movement.

Jabes, I'm not 100% sure on where Ivor is relative to that door, but Kray's letting him know about the 'middle door of the cabin, at the center of the deck.' Not sure how many doors there are (or decks, for that matter), but I'm guessing one deck, and you're on it. I'm going to keep providing ranged cover where I can, putting the damage where it seems most needed.

Kray
BR6 (cont'd)

Kray peels out away from the tree, moving back south and slightly east for a stretch to avoid the low ground below the deck and loop back by another route to the raised ridge on the opposite side, further from the cabin. All the while he keeps eyes peeled on the upper deck. He can still see the lake from a further distance, and surmises that he will be back in full high visibility over the lake soon from an even better vantage.
During Round 7, Kray can fire at normal range to the upper deck, but any shots to the lake area where Talius (and potentially Qiu are) will be at Long Range.

Finishing BR6

Ivor and Talius can still act in BR6.

Will leave it open for part of the day.
May 22, 2017 12:53 pm
As the man in the bird mask overcommits on his attempt to wrestle Ivor to the ground, the ex-gladiator exploits the momentary opening with a quick jab to the exposed shoulder. As Kray's warning rings out across the swamp, Ivor maneuvers to put his foe's back to the slowly opening central cabin door. If things should start to go badly, there's the water as an escape route. Where the fuck have Thorn and Fingol disappeared to?! "FUCK THIS WITCHERY!!!" Ivor roars at the bird mask as he thrusts his trident at it once more, aiming for the eye-holes. Quickly letting go the weapon with his off hand, he snatches the axe from his belt and brings it around in a overhand chop at the man's collarbone.
OOC:
1. TR6 Reaction: two-handed trident attack
2. BR6 Standard action: attack two-handed with a versatile weapon (apply 2-handed damage). If hit, activate Menacing Attack: WIS saving throw (DC 14) or be Frightened 'til end of Ivor's next turn.
3. Free object interaction: draw a light weapon.
4. Bonus action: attack with the light weapon.

Ivor
BR6

The bird man is nearly overwhelmed by Ivor's rage-filled assault. Ivor's thrust to his opponent's masked face is nearly a kill shot. With only the narrowest of margins, the bird man pulls his head to the side. The trident does not stab in the eyes, but it does put a crack in the mask. The man jerks away as the trident skims across the edge of his face. Ivor can see blood on the cracked particles of the mask.

Still dodging and enduring, the bird stands ground and fights on, but now Ivor has seen again that there is a man beneath the elaborate costume - a man who can tire, a man who can bleed.

2 Trident Attacks and 1 Hand Axe Attack - all hits.
Opponent avoids Frightened condition.

Talius
BR6

When Talius goes subsurface in the murky water, he can see nothing in the churn of mud and debris. He keeps paddling through the darkness, trying to use his other senses to keep his bearings and gain some sort of direction about Qiu's location.

Talius feels a swoosh of water press by him. He can see nothing, but he feels that he is not alone in the water.

Movement and position noted. Unable to perceive anything with clarity.
