Kray almost escaped after being dragged away from the group's defensive circle, but the Deep One somehow manages to maintain his hold.

Tempted to have that Grappling DO re-roll his 22 grapple via Lucky, but screw it. I'll just deal with whatever comes next as it would seem that Kray being dragged off is simply meant to be.

Speaking of, Team Glaaki sure does like to drag folks off. I've got this feeling that we are going to run into Hive versions of Talius and Qiu; replacements for the Hive we offed on Old Island.

Trident Attack: Hit
Menacing Attack Save: Opponent fails Save, begins Frightened condition
Movement: Position shift to other side of opponent. Maintain appropriate closeness to ensure this is not a retreat. Take position in range to grab net. Avoid invoking Opportunity Attack.
Interact with Object: Net retrieved

Ivor arcs his body, bringing his trident far behind his back with both hands, and then heaves it back down over his head in a fearsome surge of power as he stabs down at one of the Deep Ones. The creature is hit, and after seeing the fury of the strike, is cowed backwards, faltering as Ivor shoves past him. An experienced swimmer and an expert hand with a net, Ivor covers the distance, snatches his net free from his last victim, and then shifts back again to face his remaining enemies.

Rolls

DO8 WIS Save, to avoid Frightened condition - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Bryn tries to react quickly after being whisked away by the Deep One. He pulls out his kukri and tries to cut open the net.

After escaping from the net Bryn takes a swipe in anger at the back of the Deep One with his dagger.

Ill roll sneak attack damage, you can decide if it's applicable for a backstab

Oops. Just saw the attack roll nevermind. Don't know what happened there, thought I had the attack roll. Attack on DO11

Bryn
TR3

Kukri Attack: Hit. Net disabled. Allows escape, end of Restrained condition.
Dagger Attack: hit.

Bryn's kukri slices through the net and the Dannein quickly swims free of the net, and wastes no time launching right back at his attackers. He drives his off-hand blade right into the neck of the Deep One who was stabbing him with the spear. Veins and arteries are cut. The creature drops its spear and clutches at the fatal neck wound. To no avail. It's movements slow and it can only kick backwards in the water as it drifts back dying.
OOC:
Sneak Attack (fuckin A Straight: backstab, bitches!!!) not an option. Rogue Bryn was captured in a net, with 2 attackers focused on hurting him. Sneak Attack is out...BUT a normal Off-hand dagger Attack is in play.
Right now, I don't see a second Attack roll. Ox, send it if you want. You already have the 8 damage if it is a hit. And identify a target (DO11 or DO12).

DO11: Deceased
Jul 1, 2017 8:46 pm
Having lashed out at the two Deep Ones before him, Thorn feels his spear strike true into the first one's gut. He senses it needs just an extra nudge to encourage its death. As he pulls his spear free and is hitting the second monster, his other hand is unsheathing Urdav's seax blade. Handle down, he slashes the blade forward and towards the ugly creature's throat.

Rolls

Bonus action knife attack & damage with off-hand - (1d20+6, 1d4)

1d20+6 : (10) + 6 = 16

1d4 : (4) = 4

Off Hand knife Attack: Hit

Thorn's deer antler handled seax blade dives straight into the creatures upper throat, the angle pointed blade peak sliding deep through the inner palate and poking the brain stem. The Deep One locks out, rigid in a shocking clench of death, and then falls completely limp, floating softly backwards.

DO8: Suffers Frightened Condition. Disengage. Attempt to relocate to another fight.
DO7: Spear Attack

Still frightened from Ivor’s menacing trident attack, the injured Deep One sees Ivor recover his net and turn back to fight. With failing fortitude, the creature paddles backward carefully, seeking to put some distance between himself and the raging Dannein who acts as a demon in the water.
OOC:
Jabes, pretty sure this means Ivor has option for Opp Attack if he has a Round 3 Reaction intact.

BR3

DO3: Movement, 20’ Swim. Help Action, provide support to DO4
DO4: Movement, 20’ Swim. Sword Attack against krekutil
DO2: Movement, 20’ Swim. Spear Attack against Kray

The Deep Ones who have kidnapped Kray continue to stay on the move as they continue their assault, dragging Kray through the water, swimming further and further away from the group. Kray can now barely see Rutcranna’s pink light as he catches a glimpse backwards in the midst of his effort to break free.

Kray’s exhausted and injured captor summons all of the strength he has to bend Kray forward and hold his thrashing arms down away from his head. The creature is doing everything he can to help his comrade, who swims in close with his curved blade and leans in for a targeted cut at the top of the captive’s head – leveling the sharp curved blade in not directly at Kray, but at the krekutil mask!

All the while, the other Deep One with the spear, swimming alongside Kray and the others, does his best to stab in at Kray’s torso and continue the harm and confusion of the embattled Yuoric.

OOC:
Ez, head's up. Kray's krekutil is dying, soon dead. The physiology of its coming failure is something we'll have to face as it unfolds - nothing you know in advance. But as you might guess, it won't be good and the game mechanics are quite aggressive and dangerous. The system of having lungs flooded with fluid is useful when everything is going well but becomes a terrible risk once the fluid is no longer replenished with its ongoing oxygen filtering.

I want to disseminate right away that (though it was not paid much attention in the prep and departure phase) Rutcranna, Hinka, and Maeriks are carrying spare krekutils. Kray would know that.

The skill of changing from one krekutil to another underwater is not something anyone practiced, so that would be a WIS-based skill check, something it would be good to have a Help assistance on from Rutcranna or Hinka.

Rutcranna is trying to get to Kray, but these fish heads are fast and she is struggling to keep up. As I am thinking it through, I feel like I will try to post Rutcranna's TR4 Action early, so that Kray can get a small update on the details of the situation as he heads into some tough decision making.

Good luck.

OOC:
Ooooh. I love this. The Luck of the Yuors is kicking in.
Though the bad guy hit on both of his Advantage rolled hit attempts (16 and 22), I'm ready to take the 22 and force the reroll to the 10. A burn on resources makes the change.
Krekutil AC 11, btw. Only benefiting by the fact that they are very small and connected to someone's head.
At the very last moment, Kray tucks his head in and bends forward, causing the Deep One swinging with the blade to miss hitting the krekutil by the narrowest of margins.

Round 3 (cont'd)

Opportunity Attack, Trident: Hit

Ivor's trident plunges into the creature's low back at the kidneys. The barbs enter and grip the Deep One, and Ivor instinctively shifts his weapon downward, casting the opponent towards the ground to stop his movement.

The Deep One writhes in pain as it is thrown off of the trident when Ivor jerks it free. The creature clutches backwards at the fatal wound, bleeding and shaking in the stirred silt of the chamber floor.
