Kray feels the Deep One's short sword swoosh just past his head, the water breaking with the blade's motion.

Fucking fates are toying with me.

He lashes back at the fish-mongrels that would make a sacrifice out of his kreketil. Tensing against the Deep One's hold, he redirects his falcata backward and over his own right shoulder, driving it toward the face and neck of the one holding him from behind. Slowly he forces the Pylosean steel against the creature's last reserves of strength and will as the blade inches deeper into its flesh. Kray feels the its hold goes slack, lifeless as the arms release.

Reflexively he brings the falcata back toward the fish-mongrel who stabbed at his head, following it up with a sideways knife stab directed toward it's lungs. In the same moment he begins to push away, swimming back to form up with Rutcrana.

Let's see if I can simplify things here.

Going to go all out on offense and set Attack bonus to +3. Dice roll to attack.

First roll is attack on the DO grappling me. After that, by my account Grappler DO3 has takens taken 20 damage so far, so should be dead.

I'll attack again with the Falcata, using the damage on the Bastard who stabbed at Kray's head (unless for some reason DO3 is somehow alive?).

Bonus action to stab the Bastard with my knife.

DMJ says:
The Deep One still facing Thorn realizes that he is suddenly alone in his fight. Unwilling to relent, he barrels in with his spear.
Finally I can focus on just one of these damn things for a moment.

Thorn sees the spear. Things seem to happen at a slower pace here in the murk. Urdav's knife still in his left hand, he brings it up to parry, deftly directing the point of the Deep One's javelin away from any damage.

Hard to call it a riposte as your hand glides slowly through the water.

He strikes, slowly, yet still twice as fast as the creature, up and in to its abdomen, once. Twice. Thrice. All as the creature's weapon is still sliding past him, hitting nothing.
OOC:
Thorn's shifting back into attack mode. Since Riposte is still BR3, Thorn's still at 2/1 offense/defense, so it's +6 for that attack, but then +7 since his next two attacks are TR4.

Ivor pushes off and swims after Kray and his captors. With a few powerful strokes he's almost there but finds his way barred by the spear-wielding Deep One protecting the group's rear. Ivor casts his net, entangling the Deep One, and follows through with a savage thrust of his trident at the fish-man's torso.

[ +- ] Deep Ones vs. Maeriks
The Deep One retaliates, stabbing back at Maeriks with his spear, this time getting past his defenses and piercing his thigh. Maeriks roars, the odd muffled gurgling sound sitting on his thoughts as he sends his short sword toward the creature's face, while simultaneously parrying a second thrust by the other spear wielding Deep One. Brain and blood ooze out of the gaping wound, the creature's body instantly slack and drifting down into the silt.

Squaring himself against the remaining Deep One, Maeriks roars again, wondering if the Deep Ones can even speak themselves. Maybe. This one before him never will tho.

OOC:
Ox, Bryn sees that the fellow with the net (DO12) just got brain stabbed to death by little Hinka.
Looking at your above post, and in an effort to try to keep the ball rolling, I'm going to take the liberty (temporary, correctable liberty) to redirect that Attack at the next closest target....
which would be DO15 who is facing off against Maeriks. Bryn can reach him by using Movement Swim 15' and coming up behind him for the Sneak Attack while he is focused on Maeriks.
If that is not a plan that you are happy with, we can easily adjust afterwards.
Bryn sees the net wielding Deep One being slain by Hinka, so he swims a straight line back to another target. He sees a Deep One fighting against Maeriks, approaches quickly, flanks the creature and attacks with both daggers.

Dagger Attack: Hit
Sneak Attack: Applicable with Hit.
Off-hand Dagger Attack: Hit

Bryn slides one dagger into the neck, at the low base of the skull. The other dagger he plunges into the creatures side, between ribs and tearing a lung. The creature quakes and thrashes in its dying moments.

DO15: R.I.P.

Remember, Kray moved back the 15' to form up with Rutcrana on his turn, knowing the risk that being separated in the dark environment would have. Last thing the group needs is to be searching for someone in this pitch black.

Pausing briefly and seeing Ivor barrel into the scene, Rutcranna waits for a good opporunity to strike after the Deep One ahead is captured in Ivor's net. She moves in and stabs with her knife, plunging the blade into the vulnerable creature's chest. The Deep One heaves and clutches at its fatal wound, crumpling into a fetal position in the net.

OOC:
I hear you, Ez.
What about this:

Rutcranna held her last 5' until surging forward just recently, so she is only 10' away, right next to Ivor and a dead DO in a net.
The last DO floating live from the kidnapper team is injured DO4, who starts TR4 between Kray and Rutcranna.
I think that Kray could swim up to the guy, shift around him so to speak, and end up close up to him but not continuing on to move away, instead maintaining the 5' adjacent face off, but just moving to the other side.
If Kray moved on, that would give DO4 a sneaky OA.
The movement strategy I am describing would put Kray adjacent to Rutcranna (who is adjacent to Ivor on the other side).

Is that a reasonable way of accomplishing the goal of linking back up with the team, but also not exposing Kray to an additional Reaction attack?

Absolutely. Just making sure it wasn't lost in the shuffle with the posting frequency and the various distances.

Riposte: Miss
Javelin Attack 1: Hit
Javelin Attack 2: Hit

In a savage series of javelin stabs, Thorn punishes the last Deep One that faces him. The last thrust punctures deep into the creature's mid-section, perhaps skewering the liver. On it's last bit of life, the severely injured Deep One tries to gather itself and return with an attack of its own.
Jul 3, 2017 9:44 pm
As the dying creature prepares for one last offensive, Thorn moves Urdav's seax away from its spear and plunges it into the Deep One's eye.

EDIT: This is a bonus action; I shouldn't have added the bonus damage. Damage to DO14 only 1...
