Xorthan says:
J, I think included in that short rest was a bit of temporary HP handed out to Thorn (can't remember if others got it also) from Kray. Does that "reset" as well?
OOC:
Definitely, yes. Temp HP still intact. For Kray, Maeriks, and Thorn, the whole thing is more continuous. Their info should really just continue from the previous "NOTE SCENE" because they are still on the same time/space line. I don't remember you guys spending any resources or being hurt or anything in that series. You fought that 1 Glaak madman (G2) who got through the small early crack in the door, but that was it.

Also, one small note: Equipment.
Equipment you have is anything that you had at this time (same place mentioned above).
The reason I mentioned it is because at that time, I think somebody had thrown some axes, definitely Laoise had fired a couple of arrows. Those were outside of the circle before the fork in time/space, so they are not with you now unfortunately (probably up there at the door where they landed, but that whole area just got smashed by the big circular stone door that just rolled in to seal the room with a huge smash. So, not sure fate of hand axes on the ground near there).

Additionally on equipment and material, you do have anything that you carried through from the south door melee and charge. Anything that made it into the circle is available.
As example, there is a khopesh sword laying on the ground, dropped there by that last groggy Glaak (G8) who got charged through. That material strangely got "double copied" because it landed in the circle after the melee at the south door. Weird - the other version of G8 has the same khopesh outside of the circle because he never lost it.
I'm going to call it the Paradox Blade, 1 of 2. Sort of a collector's item from the Wrinkle in Time. Ha! Anyway, it's there on the floor inside the circle.

Doirind faces Bear. She stands with her blade in hand. A distance of about 15' from the shell of a man who was once her husband.

The hulking costumed man grips two axes, one in each hand. He has them held low to the side and makes only small moves of shifting his weight side to side. The obscene animal mask holds its constant expression, a locked image that is fearsome and disturbing, but a look of ignorance.

"I hate you, Donnchad. You killed our son. You made our daughter a slave and then saw her BEATEN TO DEATH!" she screams and cries, tears of sadness and hate welling up beneath her clinched eyes.

"I hate you. I am going to cut that foolish mask away from your body. And your head I will LEAVE INSIDE OF IT... WHEN I CHOP YOUR WRETCHED BODY APART WITH THOSE TWO AXES THAT YOU HOLD!!!"

The Dannein woman is quaking through her entire body, gritting her teeth, shaking with fear and rage.

In the outer perimeter of the room, the Ulathi and the Glaaki pawn madmen are locked in full mortal combat against one another.

The Deep Ones have greater numbers and use their nets and group tactics, but the masked lunatics are ferocious and impervious to pain.

The alligators seem to be pressed out of the fight for the most part, holding to the outer edges. One alligator is seen latching it's jaws onto the arms of a downed Glaakieou. Nearby Ulathi stab his with spears as he is thrashed by the dangerous reptile.

As everyone moves around to take their desired positions, the battle of Ulathi vs. Glaakieou rages in the background. It is all happening so fast. Everyone is recovering from the strange slumber, battling the confusion of dreams and memories that seem real and experienced yet impossible.

They have only a few seconds to get organized. It is becoming clear that Bear, Goat, and Phantom will break through soon and will be intent on murder.

"Come along then, Thralls of the Slug. ..", Rutcranna cries out. "Make your way forward and DIE!!!"

There is a huge pulse of force and sound. As if some framework in the entire room is broken. It almost takes one's breath away, but what happened is unclear. There is no structural damage. No one is injured, only startled.

"Here they come!" Rhone's little voice is heard.

But now the three captains of The Hive are released from whatever was previously holding them at bay.

Bear, Goat, and Phantom launch forward.

Ivor stands with Doirind. In truth, of the three Glaakieou here Ivor has a score to settle with Phantom rather than the Bear, but given hw Doirind has supported him in the fighting so far, Ivor will support her now.

He casts his net at the charging madman...

Phantom, Bear, Goat... tho different - stronger and more savage in stature, Maeriks recognizes each of masked men. Maeriks turns toward Rigin son of Felin, now dressed as Phantom. One time friend. Now murderer and enslaver of his own people. Maeriks rubs at his side, itching the wound that is now all but gone despite being only 15 minutes old and nearly having killed him. He doensn't think of the wound tho, not that wound at least. He remembers the time back maybe a half a year, maybe a year now, Maeriks doesn't know for sure, but it was the time when Rigin and the others first started to be different.

It was late, the waxing gibbous moon was low in the sky. Maeriks had spent the night searching for spider root, a fungus that grows in threads atop still waters. It looks little different than stray spider webs during the day, but reflects the moon light with a bright gleam. Maeriks had gathered a whole fist sized ball of it - a whole fist sized ball! Even now as he walks back in the darkness through the small village he was dreaming of its sweet taste in a whole variety of foods - sweet alligator jowels, sweet and sour citrine bites, sweet rice porridge... He passed through the village quietly, his huge feet plodding the packed dirt with little noise.. The dark huts with their slumbering occupants never knowing of his passing. It was a secret thing.

"Havin' a guid time tonecht, fat loon?" Rigin broke the silence of the night and intruded in on Maeriks' secret. "Whit ye got thaur? Some toy?"

Cautiously, Maeriks showed the white ball of threads to Rigin. Rigin never was out at night like this.

"Wa dornt ye shaw me whaur ye got 'at? Came 'en, it will be fin!" Rigin pulled at Maeriks, directing him out of the village. Maeriks was confused by this, but let it happen. Obviously Rigin knew where he was going. It wasn't the right way to find spider root, but Maeriks sensed that Rigin didn't want Maeriks' input.

They walked into the swamp. Rigin talked to Maeriks constantly, asking question after question about the spider root, sounding very excited. Then suddenly, after they were well away from the village, outside how far a loud shout could carry, Rigin stopped and smashed his fist into Maeriks' gut. Right where he scratches it now. Maeriks' doubled over, unable to breath.

"Ye dumb buck! It is time tae graw up. Ye hink Ah caur abit 'at spider root jobby? Ye feckin' oaf!" He hit him again. "Ye hae th' head ay a child. Ah am gonnae teach ye be a man!" Another punch. This time Maeriks dropped the spider root and Rigin kicked it away. He had enough time to mourn its loss before the rest of the pummeling came.

That was the beginning of the changes then. Now Maeriks is intent on ending it here, with Rigin. He takes a step forward and lowers the Locust Spear.

Attacking Phantom - assuming that is a miss
Action surge - nearly a hit. Rerolling the 16 with Locust Spear boon. (J - kick this down if you want. I used that one time use boon in the alternate timeline.)

Bear charges across the runic circle, finally breaking through, but Ivor notices that the hulking man stumbles slightly, suffering some hardship to get through.

Bear, Save vs. DC 16 STR vs. Trip Maneuver. Resists against Prone Condition. Damage incurred.

Attack w/ Net: Hit. Bear Restrained.

Ivor throws the heavy net that he captured from the Ulathi over the Bear. Ivor pulls sharply on the net, striving to sling the costumed barbarian to the ground. The big Bear does stumble, but does not topple. He twists his leg and stands his ground, but is still wrapped in the restraining net.

TR1

Rigin leaps forward just after the force pulse. The robed Glaaki captain falters a bit when he passes the rune-marked line on the floor, enough to allow Maeriks to charge in, leveling his spear at his historic oppressor.

Attack, Spear: Hit

Rigin barely sidesteps the sharp point of the spearhead. Though his face is covered by the skin mask - Maeriks does not even know how his adversary sees anything - yet still the Hive captain stops briefly in battle, pausing to sense. Could it be that he is shocked at who confronts him? Maeriks Mac Mahan driving in fearlessly to kill him, and wielding the Locust Spear!

Thorn glances at Maeriks as the big man lumbers forward toward the Phantom

A memory flashes through his head of an imbecile tackling a wrapped monster, at he instant before Thorn would throw himself at the monster in a moment of final desperation.

He smiles, in spite of the horror erupting around them.

I still owe you one from last time, brother.

And he launches forward beside the spear-wielding Norach, Urdav's blade surging alongside the Locust Spear.

"Mind yourselves gents! Keep them at the end of your iron!"

Kray grinned as the enemy broke the barrier line, moving into position to intercept Goat, keeping himself between Sorcha and the foe. At ease, his yatagan and shield wait patiently at the ready.

Whatever the hell you are, the Fates are waiting.

Pretty sure Goat fucked Kray up pretty hard on Old Island so the matchup seems fitting.

Thorn
TR1

Building off of the series of attacks from Maeriks and Laoise, Thorn drives in to keep the pressure on the Phantom, swinging the great sword at the fiend again and again, trying to take advantage of these critical early moments to force a mistake early before this elusive enemy can get loose.

2 Attacks: both hits

Though the masked man's expertise and quick movement is almost inhuman, Thorn can tell that Phantom is feeling the pressure. Thorn's blade is coming closer and closer to drawing real blood.

TR1

The Goat of the Hive locks out his great spear drives forward, his layers of shredded skins over his shoulders bouncing and swaying wildly. A slight falter and shudder when he first crosses the runic circle line seems to get him off to the wrong step, but soon he builds steam and crashes into Kray who meets him with a thick wooden shield and a slashing yatagan to follow.

Attack, yatagan: Miss

Because of the speed of the charge and the pressure that slams into the shield, Kray has to swing his blade while standing a step too close. The blade does chop into the wraps that gather around the Goat-masked barbarian's torso, but Kray know that his steel does not bite into flesh.

Kray has to lean forward to hold position; he can tell now that his heavy opponent is trying to use his augmented strength to drive Kray aside or to the ground.

Keeping the pressure on while Donnchad is entangled and wrestling with the net, Ivor strikes low with his long dagger, seeking to cut the giant barbarian's leg while lifting his support from underneath him. With and slash and heave that would likely have cut any other man's leg off, Ivor is unable to mortally wound or topple the monstrous Bear. The costumed man shifts his tree-trunk legs to maintain stability, but only barely. With great effort he remains standing, but he now is clearly on his heels. He stumbles and begins to thrash wildly and desperately to bring his sharp axes to bear in some way to slice through the ruthlessly restrictive net.
