Rygnar draws his greatsword and imposes himself between Elspa and the seventh, his veins begin to pop out and swell in his neck as his muscles tense up.
Jun 26, 2017 1:38 pm
Well, we can't carry much but at least we'll have a good lunch tonight and a good breakfast tomorrow morning.
Moss will start making his way back to the camp when Jarveena will be ready.
Jun 26, 2017 1:43 pm
"Alrigh'." Jarveena shoulders a portion of the meat. "We headin' back now then?"
Jun 26, 2017 4:06 pm
"Ain't sold nothing," says Elspa, face devoid of emotion. "I aim to fix what's wrong, 'cause nobody here done anything about it."

She looks at the others and at the village, taking in the view of what stands against, then looks back at Khiva. "I was going to do it sneaky-like, out of respect that you took in these guys, 'cause sometimes it ain't always about the fighting. But if all of you want a toss, I won't hold back."

The Seventh does not move as Rygnar takes his place before him, looking him eye-to-eye. His wooden blade gleams in the sun, lacquered in red oil. A grim smile begins creeping across his face, tinged with madness.

Khiva's face is so red that her face paint is indistinguishable from her skin. She yells at Elspa, struggling to keep her temper under control: "Fix what is wrong? Fix what is WRONG? What do you even fucking know about this island? And you think stealing from us is respect!?"

The Seventh's deep voice interrupts. He surprises you by speaking in halting Low Atlantean, his eyes never waivering from Rygnar.

"Cowards hide knives behind smiles. Warriors call out the challenge."
Jun 27, 2017 5:28 am
Ygne's face is tightened into an angered frown as she pulls a shortsword free from her hip. "Just stop!" She shouts at Elspa and Rygnar, "Can't you see that you're the assholes here? Just stop 'fore you get yourselves both killed." She gestures around at all the others in the village and says, "There won't even be glory, or a good fight. It'll just be sad, and quick, and then your souls will be trapped here."

JARVEENA and MOSS
The storm finally hits the island, the forest canopy rustling violently with wind and rain. Thunder rumbles in the distance.

As you make your way back with your kill, a glint of metal catches your eye in the forest. Through the vines and creepers, you see something copper lying in the distant brush, about 100 ft. from your present position.
Jun 27, 2017 6:16 am
Jarveena points the thing out to Moss. "Wass that?" Without waiting for an answer she goes to investigate.
Jun 27, 2017 6:26 am
If Elspa hears Ygne, she makes no indication. Truly, she has tuned out the other woman.

"I would have asked, but ain't no respect to be had when none was given," she answers in a flat tone, almost calm in the face of the shouting before her. Elspa's eyes flash with the billowing sky, and the wind and rain whip her hair into a medusa. It only takes the crack of lightning to draw the barbarian's axe, and the roar of thunder beats against her shield.

Rygnar matches the seventh's intense glare, never breaking "Then I challenge you. Elspa and me against you and a person of your choice. We win and we take the orb then given free leave. You win and your village doesn't become a mass grave of undead."
Jun 27, 2017 10:57 am
At being ignored, any sadness in Ygne's face vanishes, replaced by anger and petulance. She stuffs her hand into her belt pouch, and pulls free her twig fetish. Her grip tightens on her shortsword. She holds the fetish out toward Rygnar and Elspa, bending it between her fingers in an effort to snap it in half.

"Too late for words" the Seventh grates as Elspa frees her axe and shield, lightning crackling ominously in the distance.

Ygne's snapped twig sends the sound of death rattles and wails of despair into Rygnar, Elspa's, and Ygne's ears.

Rain begins spitting at everyone, the wind carrying it sideways.
OOC:
Elspa and Rygnar are now under the effect of a Bane spell and subtract 1d4 from attack rolls and saving throws. Ygne must maintain concentration on the spell for it to persist.

You still have your bonus action and can move, Ygne.

Ygne drops the broken pieces of the twig from her hand, with less concern on her face than once might expect. She darts back, moving to the foundation of the new tower in order to find a place to hide.
OOC:
For the sake of precedent, I was hoping to use Fast Hands to use the twig fetish as a bonus action. Is this something I'd be able to do with magic items like that in the future? It doesn't matter too much for this turn because the next thing she's doing is a bonus action too.

Rygnar shakes his head as the twig's magic takes effect, he growls "Fine but the unneeded death will be on your undead hands." his eyes go bloodshot as he raises his greatsword and swings it with an animalistic yell.
OOC:
Did I do Bane correctly?

Sorry, Khiva beat Rygnar on initiative, it wasn't my turn.

OOC:
My fault on the initiative, I listed it wrong. We'll keep you 2nd position. I assume you're swinging at The Seventh?
Rygnar's furious swings get past the man's defenses.
OOC:
The Seventh takes 11 damage. Did you decline to rage this turn?

Khiva raises her hand and cries out a war cry that echoes across the village despite the wind. She gestures at Rygnar and mutters words not of this world. As if held by a unseen hand, Rygnar freezes up.

Then, after he spell completes, she drops to all fours. Her form becomes a growing, brilliant-green silhouette that doubles in size. As the light fades, the girl is replaced with the form of a feathered lizard the size of a tiger.
