"I ain't gonna stop you," says Elspa, providing all the authority Rygnar would need if he were the type to require it.
She looks back up the stairs, almost expecting someone to be coming down after them. When she next speaks, it's on a different topic. "The way I see it, both this god and this village agree that the dead won't stay dead, there's all kinds of big dead things in the water and on that big island, and it's all because of this pearl. Ulupoka is the God of the Dead, pearl won't let the dead stay dead, means he can't do what he's supposed to do, and this village ain't done nothing about it. And then, they got these... Spirit Mothers, makes it seem like they's want a piece of that power. Smash that pearl, god takes his revenge, dead things go to sleep, and we can sail out of here. Yeah, maybe he's gonna try and kill us afterward, but we deal with that if it happens."
Elspa returns her attention to Rygnar, and seems to also return to the original statement. "Whatever the others choose, that's their lot. Maybe they's forming their own pack, 'cause they got their needs and we have ours. If she wants to choose them and make this her home, so be it and I wish her well." She points up to the village. "That pack can stay here; we're gonna leave, and to do that we need to smash that pearl. It'd be best if they let us do so without getting in our way, but if not..."
