Rygnar barely manages to get the drop on The Seventh and puts him in a hold.
OOC:
Second attack still open, I think I know what's coming!

Rolls

Contested grapple 1 (adv) - (1d20+7, 1d20+7)

1d20+7 : (13) + 7 = 20

1d20+7 : (9) + 7 = 16

Jun 30, 2017 12:28 am
OOC:
BY ONE!
Rygnar growls as he overpowers the seventh, his muscles tense as he pushes and drags the seventh towards the cliff. He hoists him up and growls in the seventh's face "You are unfit to protect your own." He releases his grip on the seventh and drops him off the cliffs edge.

He turns and faces the creature that is by Elspa and makes his way over.
OOC:
I have 40 feet movement, halved to 20 for grappling, then 5 left over after walking to the cliff. I'm not sure whether or not that's enough to make it over to Khiva to be in melee or not so I included a melee attack and a ranged attack, use whichever is applicable.

Edit: You can use the top rolls for both attacks, just thought of that. They aren't separate attacks, just different damage.

OOC:
Not sure on the rules for tossing a player over the edge without an action, but it's pretty awesome so I'll go with it! If anyone knows if this breaks any rules, please comment in the OOC thread. There are many monsters with auto-grapple on hit.

On another note, you will present Frick with an opportunity attack if Naatkinson wants to take it, and Elspa's wolf totem ability only grants advantage on melee attacks. It won't affect the hit.
The Seventh claws at Rygnar but cannot overcome his might. The look on his face as you toss him over the bluff is hatred incarnate. He careens down the cliff and smashes into the ground below, his huge form leaving an impact crater in the stone pebble beach.
OOC:
The Seventh takes 9 damage and is knocked prone.
Rygnar's javelin impales Khiva's Dinosaur form, and she reverts back to her human form, her face a mask of fury!
OOC:
Khiva's human form loses 2 hit points that spill over from her wild shape form.

Rolls

50 foot fall damage (bludgeoning) - (5d6)

(35164) = 19

Khiva tosses the javelin aside, and screams a native curse at Rygnar.

Without wasting time, she wild shapes her form, this time into a giant octopus! Octokhiva lashes out with her enormous 15 foot tentacles at Rygnar and wraps them around his thick neck.

She then moves forward 10 feet, and lets go.
OOC:
Bonus action wild shape into Giant Octopus. Action to attack with tentacles, which auto-grapples on hit. Moves 10 feet and then ends grapple as a free action, dropping Rygnar off the cliff. Rygnar takes 11/2 from the tentacles and 17/2 from the fall (13 damage) and is knocked prone.

Elspa can use her reaction to take an opportunity attack against OctoKhiva if she wishes.

Rolls

Tentacle attack at Rygnar (bludgeoning) - (1d20+5, 2d6+3)

1d20+5 : (18) + 5 = 23

2d6+3 : (44) + 3 = 11

50 feet fall damage (bludgeoning) - (5d6)

(22355) = 17

Jun 30, 2017 11:49 am
Frick whips his staff towards Rygnar's head as he carries the Seventh away.
OOC:
Gonna take the rest of my turn below
He moves to Elspa, staff lashing out at her again and again.

OOC:
Unfortunately Rygnar is at the bottom of the cliff at the end of Khiva's turn, so if you follow Rynar you'll fall off the cliff! You'll have to either go after Elspa, jump down taking fall damage, or something else entirely.
Jun 30, 2017 1:54 pm
I'll have to admit I'm not sure I want to go in there either...but I have this feeling we will have to face them sooner or later, so it may be better we get the drop on them before they get the drop on us...

My mistake. Shift my actions to Elspa!

Jarveena nods with obvious reluctance, then squares her shoulders and readies her bow. "Alrigh.' You lead." Another moment of hesitation, then she unstraps Leatha's steel rapier and proffers it to Moss hilt-first. "I can't use it." is all she says in explanation.

OOC:
Rygnar takes another 8/2 = 4 damage from Frick's opportunity attack and [bElspa[/b] takes 10/2 + 12/2 + 8/2 = 15 damage from Frick's attacks.
Jun 30, 2017 4:08 pm
Elspa's axe whips around to hack at the shapeshifting Khiva as the octopus passes by, but then her attention is drawn to the blur of motion in Frick's quarterstaff and the impacts against her body. In her rage, she retaliates the only way she knows how and lashes out with her axe. With a snarl she tries to shoulder-check the man with her shield to push him away.
OOC:
Reckless Attack! Does it apply to the OA as well?

What I'd like to do if I am successful shoving Frick away is to use my movement to advance towards Khiva. However, if the shove fails, Elspa stays in melee with Frick.

Rolls

Reaction OA vs Khiva, Adv (if applicable), Slashing Damage - (1d20+7, 1d20+7, 1d8+6)

1d20+7 : (13) + 7 = 20

Frick tries to resist being shoved away from Elspa, but is slightly off balance and goes skidding away.

Rolls

Athletics to Resist Shove - (1d20+7)

(5) + 7 = 12

Jun 30, 2017 5:25 pm
Moss catches the rapier, testing the balance, and is stunned by the quality of the balance and the sharp edge. It's the first time somebody gave him something without asking for anything in return, and something of that value !! He's clearly not sure how to react...
...I...thanks...Moss hurries and changes the subject...We should go in with stealth. If we find them, let's kill the first on as fast as we can and if we're not too injured we'll try to capture the second one...Moss turns to Jarveena for a second... and...be careful... he then turns and seems to meld in the shadows going in...
[ +- ] Stats

Rolls

Stealth - (1d20+10, 1d20+10)

1d20+10 : (14) + 10 = 24

1d20+10 : (7) + 10 = 17

Jun 30, 2017 5:31 pm
Jarveena nods, and follows a short distance behind Moss. She's not quite sure what impulse caused her to offer Leatha's rapier to this man, who is hardly more than a stranger. Self preservation, she tells herself. I'm just lending it to him to help him help keep me alive.

Stealth (Expertise, but disadvantage from Maimed) - (1d20+10, 1d20+10)

1d20+10 : (4) + 10 = 14

OOC:
Elspa needs to roll 1d4s for Bane. Probably only affects the first attack on Frick. Also, I think reckless attack lasts until your next turn, so any OAs taken during that time benefit. So if Elspa reckless attacked last turn too, should be good.

And I think the Seventh still needs to go before it's top of the round again.

Bane, First Attack - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Bane, Extra Attack - (1d4)

(1) = 1

So only changes the first attack on Frick. What rolls, though.

OOC:
Khiva takes 9 points of damage from the OA. I'll let Naatkinson figure out what happened to Fric there, tight on time!

Doesn't matter this time around, but you cannot use Reckless Attack on an OA unless somehow that OA happens on YOUR turn.

The rule reads: When you make your first attack on your turn, you can decide to attack recklessly. Doing so gives you advantage on melee weapon attack rolls using Strength during this turn, but the attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn"

The Seventh rises, from the hole he has left in the beach and turns to Rygnar, who is lying prone on the beach. Bleeding badly, he shrugs of the pain and lunges at Rygnar.

"The Spirit Mother will want answers from you, dog."
