Valius seeing Laucain dive into the bushes sticks near to the outer wall of the cave as he moves closer. When he sees the remaining goblin he reaches out pointing his hand towards it muttering as a spectral hands rises from the ground beneath the goblin. Attempting to latch on.

Ruthann grunts in pain as the impact of the arrow spins him around. He turns and glances up at the entrance to the cave where he sees the remaining goblin and Laucain, bloody swords in hand. He says in a voice loud enough to be heard at the cave entrance, "You will regret that my friend!"

The goblin stumbles away from the ghostly hand that appears causing Laucain's first attack to miss as well. Laucain takes better aim with his second strike and strikes the goblin lightly on the neck.
The goblin drops it's bow and pulls out it's scimitar and swings it at Laucain...and slashing him against the shin. Mel's finds it hard to get a good target on the goblin through the thicket.
Ruthann, you may take your turn.

I realized earlier that I have "Shield" and totally forgot about it when I took the hit. Is "Shield" something I could have cast as a reaction even if I didn't know the attack was coming? (Retroactively in this instance)Spell description: Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you are
hit by an attack or targeted by the magic missile spell.

Yeah, shield is used when you are hit. Reaction is a term used just to say its between turns or with a specific trigger. Just have to remember you only get 1 reaction per round.Jun 30, 2017 12:16 pm

You can't take reaction when surprised and it was a natural 20 so no amount of AC buffing would've helped because it automatically hit.Also, shield lasts until the start of your next turn, not just that one attack.

After Mel charges towards the goblin, Ruthann begins to trudge after her.If Ruthann can get within normal range and have a clear sight line, he will hurl a dart at the goblin.

Oops! Didn't realize I had 1 more skill choice. I had athletics & intimidation from soldier background, medicine for my human variant choice, but I only took 1 of 2 (acrobatics) from monk class. I took stealth for my 2nd from monk class just now.Jul 2, 2017 6:47 pm
