Prologue: Destiny Calls

Juse kept his silence at the pod's departure and unceremoniously pulled on the vac suit. The suit was a bit large and his lekku were crammed into funny positions but he'd manage. With his suit on, he followed the rest silently.

Above you, whole constellations of drive trails now fill the sky as escape pods and ships struggle to get away from the station. The view would be beautifully serene, were it not for the jagged wreckage occasionally spinning past.

The station is now deserted. Discarded food-wraps blow past you as you continue on your way, and overturned signs and carts are the only obstacles. The wind whipping past you is the only sound disturbing the peace.

Up ahead an illuminator has come out of its moorings and is hanging precariously from the ceiling.
OOC:
Can you each do an Average Mechanics or Education check, please?

The vac suit is cumbersome and Mayron can feel his own recycled breath coming back through the filters.

He skirts around an abandoned stall and tries not to think that they are the last sentients left on the station and that it can't be a good thing.

Looking up at the illuminator, the sputtering light source blinds him for a split second and a thought that came to him vanishes like a cooling spark.

G'Rehth keeps pace with the group, though movement in the vacsuit is a bit awkward. The sounds of crunching, tearing metal are still audible through the suit, and he can feel the tremors coming from the floor.

Ta'hida takes in a lungful of breath and a thought skitters across his mind.
I hope that smell means my filter needs to be cleaned and that isn't my breath.

He looks around at the abandoned station as he makes his way towards the promised safety of a ship

Something isn't right about the illuminator. It shouldn't be hanging like that, just sort of floating about.

Everyone except Mayron realises at the same time... the grav is out in the next section!

Mayron, charging on ahead, suddenly finds himself weightless and tumbling slowly towards the ceiling fifty metres above.
Sep 4, 2017 10:00 am
OOC:
If I want Mayron to orientate himself and push off the ceiling to get to the other side of the non-grav area, what difficulty is that?
Sep 4, 2017 3:52 pm
G'Rehth comes to a halt and curses. "Great. How are we going to get through here?"

With a fateful footfall, Mayron finds himself floating upwards as the grav generators cut out.

"Er....I'm....floating..." he vaguely says to the others as he sails away.

As he slowly spins, Mayron can see furniture that has stayed attached to the floor though, across the dome.

" Over there then."

He uses a floating pot plant to start a spin that will bring his feet into contact with the ceiling of the dome, all while trying to ignore the intense vertigo of looking down, out of the transparisteel and into the void of space.

Mayron gracefully somersaults around, planting his feet on the transparisteel canopy and pushes gently off, aiming himself back down and further around the station. Just ten metres shy of the floor he suddenly finds gravity reasserting itself, and his triumphant glide becomes a terrifying fall!
OOC:
Can you Roll a Hard Co-ordination check now to make a soft landing?
While these aerial acrobatics are going on, G'Rehth is able to scope out a series of handholds for twenty metres ahead.
OOC:
I'll save those two Threats for now (mwahahaHA!) To continue on you will need to do an Average Co-ordination check to traverse the handholds. You get two Boosts for scoping it out in advance.
Sep 4, 2017 6:15 pm
Mayron feels his stomach lurch as gravity reverts and he tries swing his legs beneath him and aim for a soft landing.
OOC:
Woah, that was surprisingly close. And we all know that fall damage is the most lethal damage in FFG SW.

Ta'hida stops and looks at the corridor in dismay. "how are we going to get out of this"
Sep 5, 2017 1:13 am
G'Rehth points out the handholds he sees to Juse and Ta'hida. "Watch me and follow where I go!"
OOC:
the advantage can give a boost to the next character's check.

Mayron doesn't panic as gravity reasserts itself, he pulls his legs underneath him and cushions his fall.

G'Rehth navigates through the first ten metres of the zero-grav area, holding onto various fixtures and steadily moving forwards. Just as he is getting to an area where he would be out of sight of those following him he grabs a chair which had become wedged under a window-sill, but it comes loose as he grabs it and sends him tumbling to his left. He manages to throw the chair away and uses the momentum he gains to get to the next handhold, but that was close!
OOC:
G'Rehth to take one strain from a Threat from earlier. Also, since he has both pointed out and demonstrated the route to take, Ta'hida and Juse can get two Boosts for their checks.

Ta'hida closely observes g'rehth and follows his lead, carefully grabbing handholds as he works his way across the corridor.

Ta'hida makes it to the halfway mark then perhaps grows overconfident, but as he reaches for the next handhold his foot slips and sends hi into a tumble. His back hits the top of a small fence and he starts slowly tumbling up towards the ceiling.
Sep 9, 2017 1:49 am
"Oh, shit, oh shit, oh, shit.

"Ok, keep calm. What do I do?"

Ta'hida feels the shock of colliding with the fence and reflexively reaches out his hand to grab it.

G'Rehth watches in frustration, trying to see if there is some way he can assist. Maybe there is a pole or something nearby that he can reach out to Ta'hida with....
