Vorin runs down the buckling corridor, frantically looking for a way off the station. The ship she came on had already left, and it would be too dangerous to try to stow away on the same ship twice anyway. Nearly all the escape pods are gone, and the one time she thought she had found one she could use, she'd ended up having to give up her seat so a family could get out instead. Trust in the Force, Vorin. Trust in the Force, she thinks as the station flexes beneath her.
As she rounds a corner, something catches her eye. One of the docking rings is still occupied by a ship, and the control panel is blinking to indicate that the ship has powered up. She rushes over to the panel and sees that the ship is called Serendipity. I don't think I could ask for a clearer sign from the Force than that, she thinks. Jabbing the intercom button, she calls into the microphone "Hello, is anyone listening? I need a way off this station before it tears apart!" There is no response from the ship. "Please, the escape pods are gone and there's not much time left!" Still nothing.
Vorin begins poking at the control panel, looking for an emergency override or something that will open the airlock. Maybe the people on board are ignoring her. Maybe they have some kind of problem of their own and can't respond. Maybe there's not anybody on board at all. Regardless, she needs to get on that ship or else she's going to be sucking vacuum real quick.
