"My condolences," says Qavez. "Who would be next in line? These survivors will need guidance after everything's settled."
Sep 22, 2018 2:36 pm
"Do you need ruble moved? I am probably stronger then you. I will help if you need it." Maru says to the guards as she finishes clearing a space for the townsfolk as best she can.
Sep 22, 2018 5:49 pm
"Yes, sir!" The guards salute and go about organizing the townsfolk and tending to injuries, glad to have a job to do.

As though Xalvador's words were prophetic, the giants disappear into the clouds, which head northward at an usual speed. They are soon out of view, and the stars begin to twinkle as the clouds thin to reveal the night sky.

"Wait, what was the stone thing? Why did they want it?"

Qavez pulls Morak aside and relays Xed's question about the stone.
Oct 1, 2018 9:33 am
Morak looks befuddled, "I have no idea. It's always been here...the town was built around it. No one knows what language the writing was; we just thought of it as an old relic."
Oct 1, 2018 10:39 am
Overhearing Morak Xalvador moves to join the conversation "Are there any copies of the writings kept anywhere in town? It's a remote chance but it may be worth us taking a look at them to see if we can glean anything from the text"
Oct 1, 2018 11:32 pm
Morak shrugs, "If anyone would have a copy, it would be the Lady. Perhaps we could search her library, if its still intact."
Oct 2, 2018 12:55 am
"Good place to start," says Qavez with his verbal thanks. He asks the guards for directions to the library, hoping that enough had survived the attack.
Oct 2, 2018 6:02 pm
Maru looks around sheepishly and mumbles "I am not the best at reading but I can try help."
Oct 4, 2018 11:33 pm
Following the guard's directions, you climb over a pile of rubble into the building. The way up the stairs, to where the library is, is blocked with more rubble.
OOC:
If only you had someone strong who could help...no reading required. :)
Oct 6, 2018 4:51 am
"Oh no... reading? Maybe the library has pretty pictures?" Seeing the pile of rocks, Xed tries to move a few.

Rolls

Strength Check? - (1d20)

(6) = 6

Oct 7, 2018 11:28 pm
Xed manages to move a small rock, the size of an orange, but only with great difficulty.
Oct 7, 2018 11:49 pm
"Maru, think you could lend a hand?" says Qavez, and he moves to assist the half-orc with clearing the rubble.
OOC:
Using the Help action to hopefully grant Maru advantage.
Oct 8, 2018 12:59 pm
Maru smiles and clearly enjoys feeling useful. "I am happy for any help you can give." she will find a largest rock she can handle and move it as far as possible.

Rolls

STR - (1d20+3)

(4) + 3 = 7

STR advantage - (1d20+3)

(7) + 3 = 10

Oct 8, 2018 1:59 pm
Xalvador studies the pile of rubble, looking for any likely points where he could possibly break up some of the larger chunks
OOC:
Thinking to use Eldritch Blast to zap some of the rocks, throwing a general Int check in as he's studying things (add 2 to the roll if Arcana would be better)

Rolls

Intelegence Check - (1d20+2)

(16) + 2 = 18

Oct 9, 2018 10:36 am
Working together, Maru and Qavez manage to move some more rocks, but the largest of them stymie the team until Xalvador notices a spot where a well-placed blast of force will loosen the whole mess.
Oct 9, 2018 2:08 pm
"If you would all stand back please, I will attempt to loosen the pile. This may be somewhat.....violent". Once everyone else has cleared the way he gives a shout to advise the villagers not to panic and begins flinging purple bolts of energy into the pile.
OOC:
Given that it's a Cantrip and I can just keep slinging them do you want me to roll for this at all? I'll throw one out as an example

Rolls

Eldridtch Blast attack, damage - (1d20+5, 1d10+3)

1d20+5 : (19) + 5 = 24

1d10+3 : (1) + 3 = 4

Oct 11, 2018 9:20 am
Thanks to his careful inspection, Xalvador's bolt of force strikes true, and the pile of rocks rumbles down the stairs. The group ascends to find the library fortunately intact, and full of more books than any of them have ever seen...dozens, at least.
Oct 11, 2018 10:53 am
Xalvador moves into the room and starts to work through the tomes, looking for anything that may give a hint of what the language on the obelisk was or it's history and purpose.

Rolls

Investigation if needed - (1d20+2)

(18) + 2 = 20
