Xalvadors voice booms out in a now familiar manner "Everyone, the giants have left and the danger seems to have passed. We all need some rest so everyone please try to find a space where you can be comfortable. Anyone who is injured please let one of the guards know so they can ensure everyone gets the assistance they need and if any of you know of anyone who is still missing please tell them so we can organise a search". Turning to the nearest guard Xalvador's voice drops to a normal level "I hope you do not take my involvement amiss. Do you have enough men to get these people comfortable? I'm sure my companions and I can keep watch for a while until you get everyone settled"

"Thank you, sir, we will," she replies with a relieved sigh. She turns and gathers up the other guards, passing along your orders. Soon you can see the guards handing out blankets and guiding folk to shelter, while others assist those townsfolk who want to return to their homes across makeshift bridge.

"Take turns at watch, then?" says Qavez. "I think the adrenaline's still in me. I can take the first round."

"Yes, wake me for a turn when you are done." he says and then casts a worried eye at Xed "Perhaps it would be an idea for us to double up on the watches. More eyes would be better at catching anything....untoward"

Qavez shrugs. "Don't know! Maybe we should go foraging for something these folk can eat. Let's try back in the village." He will bring a torch and a sack with him as he tries to salvage what he can from the town. To be safe, Qavez also brings his weapons and armor.

Qavez is easily able to find food enough for the people by searching through the inn with Morak's help, and gathering some ripe produce from small garden plots.

Satisfied that the meal will warm everyone's bellies, Qavez prepares to stand watch. He will try to find the highest parapet that's stable enough to serve as an observation post.

Qavez notes a slow trickle of people returning to town from the keep. Neighbours welcome each other into homes more intact, and the town settles into quiet.
Maru hears a quiet creeping in the inn below, but it stops before she has the chance to investigate.
Xalvador closes his eyes, just for a moment, and finds the grey light of dawn when he opens them again.

Xalvador flushes with embarasment before making a mental note to sumon an invisible servant on his next watch with instructions to keep prodding him periodically.

Xed takes a watch at some point in the night, unintentionally overlapping with the second and third watch. She spends that time watching the watchers.
