"I have some." Xed offers, jangling the coins in her coin purse.

Qavez looks hesitant at first. "Well, if he's a friend of yours, I can do this for you," he finally says. With a shrug and a grin, he adds, "Gives me a reason to come back here, at least."

He takes the box and secures it with his belongings, then asks about the man's name and other identifying features to connect with the family.

Morak provides the information, a relieved look upon his face. He pulls forth another small bag from behind the counter and passes it to Qavez. "For your expenses. And my thanks. If there is anything you need in the way of supplies before you leave, just ask. I know everyone here is grateful for all you've done, and we have more to spare now, thanks to those damn giants."
Jun 21, 2019 5:49 pm
Qavez nods. 'We'll be sure to stock up. I'll see you again."
OOC:
Are there tents, or canvas and rope we could acquire to make shelters?
Jun 23, 2019 10:54 pm
OOC:
Certainly. You may have one each of any of thing items listed under Adventuring Gear in the player's handbook, as long as it costs 50 gp or less. That includes one healing potion (regular) each.

Xalvador makes a few quiet preparations before they are ready to leave.
OOC:
Xalvador wouldn't want to take anything from the townsfolk here other than a bit of food for the journey
Jul 1, 2019 6:19 pm
Qavez briefly thought about acquiring a wagon, but realized the party would need a horse, and that's just one more mouth to feed.
OOC:
I'm ready to go.
Jul 3, 2019 11:30 pm
The group sets off shortly after breakfast, fully provisioned and ready for what awaits... (insert jolly music with occasional sinister undertones).

The first day of the journey passes uneventfully, and as the sun begins to set the group must decide where to rest, or to push on through the night. Waterdeep is still more than a day's journey away.
Jul 4, 2019 7:02 am
Qavez gives his estimate of the party's travel. "I think we ought to make camp for the night and save our energy," he suggests, and looks around for a possible site.
Jul 5, 2019 11:30 am
"Agreed" says the Teifling "I was kind of hoping there would be an inn we could stop at but never mind. Any idea's on a good spot?"
Jul 5, 2019 3:49 pm
"Uhhh..." ponders Qavez, looking around. "What about there?"

Qavez points out a spot that is fairly flat and dry, and Xed finds a brook nearby with clean running water. Wind rustles gently through the trees overhead, and the group is suffused with a sense of peace after the hectic pace of the last few days.

Qavez busies himself with setting up camp, and volunteers to take the first watch.

As the night descends, the first two watches pass uneventfully. However, as Xed looks out over the sleeping party, she hears a rustling and snorting that is slowly approaching.

"Hello? Hat, is that you?" Xed lights a torch and walks over toward the snorting sound.

In the shadow beyond the torchlight, Xed sees a large shape covered in bristly fur suddenly freeze and then slowly turn to look at her with beady black eyes. The eyes are at the height of her own, and she realizes this creature is easily four times her size.
