Sorry I’ve been a bit... Well all over the place. I’m hoping to be back on top of things now so let’s go!
The heavily armoured figure recalls from you Attack, it’s stance broken by your strikes for a moment, though it quickly steadies itself and spins around it’s heavy axe in a wide arc.

Rolls

Reckless Attack - (1d20+6, 1d20+6)

1d20+6 : (17) + 6 = 23

1d20+6 : (6) + 6 = 12

Damage - (2d12+4)

(610) + 4 = 20

No worries! Glad to have you back. :-) Does necrotic damage hurt undead? In this world and in standard D&D 5E? Specifically, would Inflict Wounds hurt them?
Quote:
Inflict Wounds
• 1st-level necromancy
• Casting Time: 1 action
• Range: Touch
• Components: V, S
• Duration: Instantaneous

Make a melee spell attack against a creature you can reach. On a hit, the target takes 3d10 necrotic damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 1st.

OOC:
In five 5e this 100% works against undead, though some undead do have resistance against it. In this setting most undead don’t have this resistance though, as I’m reskinning necrotic as ‘dark damage’

OOC:
Good to know, thanks! But after some thought I've decided to go instead with Hellish Rebuke and a Smite.
My eyes flash as the hollow's axe bites into my ribs and I wonder, in my current state, do I still bleed red? "Curse you!" I snarl at the creature, and it is momentarily engulfed in the hellish fires of my wrath. My sword arcs once twice more, aimed at my foe's neck.
OOC:
Uh oh. Is that a miss? Is the spell slot (for smite) expended even if I miss?

The flames engulf the behemoth but it seems to resist the fire somewhat, bringing up its arm red hot sparks fly as it bats away your blade with its open palm. But you quickly turn your blade about and drive it into the heavily armored warrior filling it with malice. The monstrous armoured figure falls to the ground and crumples into ash. You absorb a Legrion Tortoise Knight Soul and the way to the tent city is now clear...

Rolls

Dex save - (1d20)

(15) = 15

Reckless Attack - (1d20+6, 1d20+6)

1d20+6 : (8) + 6 = 14

1d20+6 : (5) + 6 = 11

Loot? - (1d20)

(2) = 2

I completely forgot that I attack twice every round! So I added another set of rolls to the above. I'm guessing that's a hit and so we can use that Smite roll?

Updated to fit with the out come of your roll!

OOC:
Huzzah!
Spurring my steed forward and with my minions in tow I make for the bonfire. As we move I minister to my own wounds.
OOC:
Lay on Hands for 18hp, which should bring me back to full health.

As you continue forth no enemies bar your way, but a sound penetrates the din as you enter the tent city, the slamming of steel on steel somewhere deeper in the encampment. In that direction of a puff of smoke rises above the tents, though the bonfire is close at hand as well.
Jan 25, 2018 9:09 am
Is there perhaps a blacksmith in this gods-forsaken place? I resolve to investigate after I have taken a respite at the bonfire.
Jan 25, 2018 10:06 am
You rest at the bonfire, the fire restores your flesh, though your stead and minions fade as your rest. The sound of strikes still resound around the tents, though as you sit at the bonfire you have a chance to look over your gains...

OOC:
By my reckoning I gained these:
• Estus flask
1 Fading Soul
2 Sorry Souls Fading Souls
1 Almian Legionnaire Soul
2 Almian Legionnaire Souls
1 Legrion Tortoise Knight Soul

Did I miss anything? Oh, the black object the knight gave me. Was that 1 Humanity or something?

OOC:
Ah ha, you have triggered my cunning ploy to dump exposition and item descriptions! Also it looks like what you marked as sorry souls are actually just fading souls...
Estus Flask. The Undead treasure these dull green flasks. Fill with Estus at bonfires, and drink to restore HP. The journey of an Undead has always traced the bonfires, and no journey of import has been made without an Estus Flask.

Humanity. This black sprite is called humanity, but little is known about its true nature. If the soul is the source of all life, then what distinguishes the humanity we hold within ourselves? Offer to the bonfire to reverse the effects of Hollowing.

Fading Soul. The fading soul of a lost Undead who has gone Hollow and still. Offer to a bonfire to gain 100xp or for trading. The soul is the source of all life, and even in undeath, or hollowing, the mind seeks souls.

Almian Legionnaire Soul. These soldiers from a distant land marched against the Firekeep at the command of those who would end the age of fire. Offer to a bonfire to gain 150xp or for trading.

Legrion Tortoise Knight. The king of the Firekeep clad his strongest warriors in heavy plate and equipped them with weapons no normal man could carry. Their lack of manuverability was the inevitable end to these iron juggernauts. Offer at a bonfire to gain 1400xp or use for trading.

OOC:
There was also a "cracked red eye orb untouched by age."

Malethor is still unaware of the existence of trade in this place so I guess he will convert all souls to XP. By my tally that's 2,150XP from the souls I've gathered. Only 11,850 to go til Level 6!

Do I absorb Humanity in much the same way?

Is it generally safe to take a long rest by the bonfire?I guess I'll find out.
I hold each item up to the bonfire and study it in the light of the flames...
Jan 28, 2018 12:49 am
Cracked Red Eye Orb. Invade another world. (Hollows cannot use the item) Defeat the master of the world you have invaded to acquire humanity. The Cracked Red Eye Orb allows the undead to temporarily imitate this ability normally limited to the Darkwraiths of Kaathe.
OOC:
You are currently have your humility in tack, its only after you start dying when you’ll need to worry about using humanities. Also the simple act of resting at a bonfire grants you a long rest... Time is convoluted in Legrion...

With my strength restored I go to investigate the sound of ringing steel. But first, I summon my steed.
Feb 2, 2018 8:00 am
Again the crystal shards come forth from the ground and Phrixos stands before you awaiting your command. After passing a few tents following the sound you arrive at a small clearing, where a figure stands hunched over an anvil. As you approach he looks up and acknowledges you but never stops hammering the steel in front of him.
Feb 2, 2018 2:43 pm
I watch the blacksmith at work. What shape will he give the steel?
Apr 9, 2018 12:30 pm
The Smith seems to be at the end of the process of flattening a long bar, after a time he starts to work in the fold, his furious hammering keeping the metal hot. It is after a surprisingly long time that the Smith feels the need to quench the bar in oil, as he goes to heat the bar anew over the divine embers he shouts out to you, showing clear signs of loosing his hearing If you want to stand their and watch me finish this blade you’ll be there for a while, the have a habit in the distant lands to fold their steel a lot. What can I do for you?
Apr 9, 2018 5:36 pm
"Satisfy my curiosity, master smith. This place seems a madhouse of the damned with no alliances unless I am mistaken. How did you come to be here? Whom do you arm? Whom do you serve?"
