Chapter Six: The Muster of Caltlikrath

As Felor invokes his spell, a look of utter surprise and dismay comes over Wet Beng's face as he convulses, trying to resist the sudden onset of paralysis.

Edit: Wet Beng arches his back violently and lets out a strangled yell. Chickens go flapping away in all direction; a goat bleats plaintively. Wet Beng stomps on the ground, shakes his head, and looks up at the party with a reproachful glare. "What is the meaning of this? Who are you?"

Meanwhile, the hut's door, still shut, only vibrates barely perceptibly under the influence of Mordred's cantrip.

If anyone intends any further hostile actions against Wet Beng at this point, roll initiative.

Zangua and Leth may take actions now.

What's the layout here? Any hedges/fences/landscaping for hiding? Do we have him cornered against the hut?
Sep 28, 2017 4:33 pm
Zangua charges, seeking to close the gap as quickly as possible. A thrust of his glaive for the wizard's chest is followed by a turn of his wrist to cut across the body, and then the blunt end is brought around against the shoulder.
OOC:
Zangua has a movement speed of 40. I don't know if that's enough to reach the wizard in one turn, so if Wet Beng is too far I will use Action Surge.

Rolls

Glaive vs Wet Beng, Slashing Damage - (1d20+7, 1d10+4)

1d20+7 : (4) + 7 = 11

1d10+4 : (10) + 4 = 14

Extra Attack Glaive vs Wet Beng, Slashing Damage - (1d20+7, 1d10+4)

1d20+7 : (7) + 7 = 14

1d10+4 : (7) + 4 = 11

Bonus Attack vs Wet Beng, Bludgeoning Damage - (1d20+7, 1d4+4)

1d20+7 : (5) + 7 = 12

1d4+4 : (1) + 4 = 5

The hut is to the north, with the cliff overlooking the beach to the west and the attached goat pen to the east. You all walked a little ways south for your private talk. There's not much in the way of cover here. The cliff is roughly a 40' drop.

Wet Beng leaps back from Zangua's first thrust, leaving him back against the fencing with nowhere to go to avoid the followup slash or the blow to his shoulder. "What is this!" he cries under the onslaught. "Why--oof."

Leth is up.

OOC:
To clarify, did I need to use Action Surge to Dash?
Sep 28, 2017 4:49 pm
By Crom, I feel like a murderhobo

Yeah, you would have walked more than 40' away to privately discuss whether to murder the guy, right?
Sep 28, 2017 5:10 pm
OOC:
That's fine, just wanted to make sure!

Wow, I don't appreciate your judgey tone, Octo. Arguably, this is just very proactive self-defense.

Leth, still unsure whether or not this is truly the best course of action, hesitates a moment, his arrow trained on the wizard.
OOC:
I guess I'm gonna ready an action? If Beng tries to escape or tries any form of funky wizardry to escape or get a message out to someone else I'll shoot.

Also... did one of you guys actually see the 6pc symbol? I think Zangua implied that he did but I don't think it was ever explicitly stated or showed to the rest of the party. Whatever you guys saw in those perception checks was hidden from the rest of us.

Wet Beng somersaults backwards over the fence, staggers back inside the goat pen, folds his hands together and utters a few inaudible words.

I'm guessing this meets the criteria for Leth shooting? I'll add the roll.

Faced with a tricky shot with Zangua mostly in the way, Leth puts an arrow into a fencepost as Wet Beng instantaneously vanishes from sight.

Rolls

Leth readied bowshot - (1d20+8, 1d8+4)

1d20+8 : (1) + 8 = 9

1d8+4 : (7) + 4 = 11

Still in initiative or no?
Sep 28, 2017 8:59 pm
Yes. Domarc, Felor, and Mordred can take actions.
