let's try this again I suppose

Rolls

Attack with hammer (CTN 16) - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Orc defense (14) - (1d20)

(6) = 6

Jan 8, 2018 1:41 am
Ulfgar drops his hammer.

Faceplate will suddenly remember that spears has a 2m reach and will move in the undergrowth hoping this will make it harder to flank him and then attack Ulfgar from there. Screamy face will keep looking for his spear.

The orc manage to slip the tip of his spear between Ulfgar's rib for another 6 points of damage. Meanwhile, his friend has no long finding his spear...

Rolls

Orc attack Ulfgar (MAT 13) - (1d20)

(6) = 6

Ulfgar's DEF (DEF 14) - (1d20)

(16) = 16

Orc Perception (CTN:8) - (1d20)

(10) = 10

Jan 8, 2018 1:43 am
Barekeln will attempt to ready Healing Touch again.

...and fails miserably...

Rolls

Spellchanging check (MND+IN, Total CTN: 10) - (1d20)

(20) = 20

YOu know that you really are hard to kill, but i like the target practice
OOC:
Using my 2 slayer points for +2 attack

Seriously.... the website hates me when i roll
Last edited January 8, 2018 8:49 pm

Rolls

Bow attack (CTN 19) - (1d20)

(2) = 2

Orc defence (CTN 14) - (1d20)

(10) = 10

Jan 8, 2018 10:36 pm
OOC:
Someone is healing those orcs! They now have twice as many HP as they did last round! Their HP first appeared as 6 after Grapthor hit them. Prior to that their HP showed as 3. I actually thought Grapthor's hit would take Face-Armor out but either my math was wrong or they have a healer hiding somewhere.

@Gaz: Looking at how we rolled so far, the dice roller seems to have everyone...

@Jabes:"-" as in minus Jabes... they lost 6 hp each.

Edit: Oh I almost forgot, after Feridir's arrow fails to pierce the orc's leather armor, it's Kanyil's turn.
Jan 9, 2018 3:04 am
Kanyil changes position to get another clear shot and looses another stone at the Orc with the heavy helmet. Again the stone misses its mark. Damn! Kanyil thinks to herself, The learning curve on this stupid sling is steeper than I would have thought!
OOC:
I’m starting to regret not going with a bow, to be honest. Being a scout, I sort of stacked her stats towards the thief build, so she should technically be pretty so-so with a Ranged Attack. But I wanted to roleplay her as a sort of person that prefers blunt weapons, because she’s not really a killer, and they’re sort of less lethal. She’s the mechanically inclined girl that’s good at setting and disabling traps and chests and locks and other mechanical devices. So sling seemed to go with her rule against blades and other "lethal" weapons, but it’s sort of rendering her useless in any sort of combat.

Rolls

Kanyil Ranged Attack (CTN10) - (1d20, RA)

(16) = 16

Orc Defense (CTN14) - (1d20, RA)

(2) = 2

Jan 9, 2018 5:04 am
Eldrtich is up.
Jan 9, 2018 7:44 pm
When Eldritch dreamed of being an adventurer, he never imagined it to be so tedious! He sighs as he fires another beam of flame.

Rolls

Fire Beam (14) - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Orc defence - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Jan 10, 2018 12:15 am
Eldritch singes the orc with the best hit so far. The hit is so good infact, that it makes teh orc loses its balance and fall flat on its ass.
OOC:
When ther are people or obstacle in the way, your ranged attack CTN (RAT or TSC) gets lowered by 1 per such obstacles. Just something to remember in the future... Also, sorry, it occurs to me I forgot to link the map in my previous posts. I'll try to remember from now on.
Grapthor is up next.
Jan 10, 2018 3:22 pm
Grapthor slams his warhammer down on the prone orc's head.
Last edited January 10, 2018 3:23 pm

Rolls

Warhammer vs. Armor Face (MAT 20) - (1d20)

(11) = 11

Orc Def (OD -2 for Prone) - (1d20)

(13) = 13

Jan 10, 2018 8:28 pm
Grapthor slams his hammer hard on the orc's ribs, hearing something snap inside the orc who's now coughing up blood. The orc is still alive, but looks very bloodied.

Ulfgar can now pick up his dropped hammer...
Jan 10, 2018 11:00 pm
OOC:
using lightning reflexes I pick up my hammer as a free action.
More of the same, hopefully with better results.

Rolls

Attack with hammer (CTN 16) - (1d20)

(8) = 8

Orc defense (ctn14) - (1d20)

(6) = 6

Jan 10, 2018 11:45 pm
OOC:
You forgot to move your character on the map, but no big deal, you can easily reach the orc at a cost of 2 MR anyways... I places you on the map Also, the prone orc had -2 to his DEF, but it's okay.
Ulfgar swings his hammer, caving the orc's skull in, killing it.

Seeing his buddy get killed like that, teh last orc decides that losing his spear is far preferrable then losing his life and performs a double move to run as far away as possible from you. This fight is officially over, unless you want to shoot at the remaining fleeing orc... (I can simply have a few rounds of "soft combat" where people with the range to shoot at the orc can take a few potshots. Standard range penalty is -1 per 10m, except for Kanyil's sling which is -1 per 2m, for spells check your range to see if you can still shoot at the orc; I do believe they should be something along the line of IN x 5m...)

You can catch your breath, regaining half of your just lost HP at a rate of 1 per minute while resting. Now the XP and the loot. (Also, I'll split XP 5 ways since Grogg was unfortunately not there to play his character and he did not participate in combat...). Everyone gains 37 XP. You can also loot the bodies.
I'll go ahead and still roll Barekeln's Spellchanging check to see if he reactivates Healing touch...

Rolls

Spellchanging check (CTN:10) - (1d20)

(7) = 7

Jan 11, 2018 12:23 am
With a 20m range, Eldritch takes another shot at the fleeing orc.

Rolls

Fire beam 14 - (1d20)

(16) = 16

Orc def ? - (1d20)

(10) = 10

Jan 11, 2018 3:23 am
Kanyil watches the remaining orc flee. She considers that she could give chase and throw one more stone at the fleeing monster, but with the battle over, it seems excessive to her. "Let’s see if these orcs had anything worth splitting between us", she says and starts checking the bodies.
Jan 11, 2018 3:24 am
OOC:
Orc's DEF is 14. Since he's feeling from you, I'll assume you're shooting in his back, which is +2 to attack rolls.
Kanyil searhes the orcs and finds both of them had leather armor and a spear (there's obviously a third spear in teh undergrowth if anyone iw willing to search for it...), and finds a used handkerchief on one and a fresh apple on the other.

Rolls

Orc Loot - (1d20, 1d20)

1d20 : (5) = 5

1d20 : (4) = 4

Jan 14, 2018 8:57 pm
Feridir jumps out of the tree, not interested in the orc that is feeling, he probably can track him later.

Well Gar, we were all a bit rusty, but this is the thrill of adventure

He sees Kanyil looting the corpses

If one of those orcs still has a usable spear, id like that, not much of a melee fighter so i only have my bow, but its always good to have a backup, also nice shots with those rocks, i am a bit rusty with my arrows. you should see if you can get a bow with your small stature, could be very effective in your hands

He winks at Kanyil while he takes one of the orcs spears
Jan 14, 2018 10:20 pm
Kanyil nods quietly at the archer. "Does anyone want this leather armor for the time being? I figure the resale value of it can’t be more than a couple of gold pieces per set. I haven’t really got the coin at the moment, but I’d gladly pay each of you five silver as your cut of it’s value as soon as we come across some treasure, if you let me wear a set now."
