Eventually, Feridir realized that this fight with the orcs had him turned around and he ended up taking the wrong hunting trail and had been guiding the party in the wrong direction for the past two hours... The party can either back track or perhaps Feridir can try his chance at cutting through the wilderness to get to Bear Peak faster.
Jan 28, 2018 10:37 pm
"I say we backtrack and lose the two hours, rather than try and bushwack a direct route and possibly get even further off course", Kanyil says.
Jan 29, 2018 7:30 am
"Just like a durn elf t' get lost in th' damn forest!" Grapthor grumbles.
Jan 29, 2018 11:03 pm
well master dwarf, since were not underneath a mountain, your navigation skills are null and void, so stop complaining and let me do my work

He then looks towards the halfling

Hmmm 2 hours lost seems a bit much, id say we follow a new path, bringing new advanture, and maybe find out more about those orc's so i say we bushwack on, as you said it

Kanyil is a human, she's just very short.
So far, 1 vote for both...

I'm with Feridir. I don't want to return to where the orcs ambushed us.
Feb 2, 2018 2:13 am
"I agree with Kanyil"
Feb 4, 2018 7:41 am
"Hmm, trekkin' ben th' wild disnae please me, but it's probably preferable. Th' idea was tae nae meit th' friends ay 'at orc fa ran awa'. If we gang backtrack back tae camp, we micht fin' them waitin' fur us."

OOC:
ok i have no idea what the fuck you just wrote :P somthing at the end about bactktracking to the camp and find them waiting for us. about the first part no fucking clue

OOC:
I use scotttranslate to give Barekeln a scottish accent. This has the added benefit that I cannot use him to spoon feed the party information. :P
But basically he was mentioning that the reason the party left the campsite was in case the orc who ran away came back with reinforcement and he feels that going back to camp where the orcs might be waiting for the party is not a good idea...
Feb 9, 2018 3:30 pm
"I hadn't considered that that orc that escaped might have brought reinforcements back to our campsite", says Kanyil. Her primary concern had been to avoid getting further lost and using up precious daily rations wandering around the wilderness aimlessly. But realizing she's likely the weakest link Iin the party when it comes to combat, the more imminent threat of more orc invaders sways her vote.

"I suppose let's try and navigate a more direct route. But please do try and avoid any more setbacks before we get to the ruins. I fear many of us only packed just enough food to get there and back, and I'd hate to be wandering depths of some dusty labrynth on an empty stomach."
Feb 10, 2018 12:01 am
Feridir can do another check, at +4 this time: though you took the wrong trail, you have a pretty good idea where you are.
Feb 11, 2018 4:04 pm
Decided then, tracking away and dont wory about the food, we can always hunt for food.

Feridir will make his way towards the direction he thinks Bear Peak is and finally reaches it... after 4 hours... It would seem that a lack of sleep does not lend itself well to trekking through the wilds in the wee hours of the morning ("Wait, moss grows on the eastern side of trees now?")...
After finally reaching the foot of the Bear Peak, the party spends some time figuring out a path up it, and notice one which seems relatively unused further west of the point where the party reached Bear Peak which looks like it might take the party up the mountain and where it needs to be.

About What time of day is it right now?
Feb 11, 2018 5:30 pm
Hmm, you started in the early morning, and wasted the better part of 6 hours, I'd say mid-to-late-morning, probably 9-10-ish.
Feb 19, 2018 11:02 pm
As the party makes its way upward the mountain, you can make a Read Track + Hunter check.

Having initially held a sense of reservation at bushwacking towards the mountain, for fear of getting further lost and delayed, Kanyil feels a sense of relief that Feridir seems to have found the party back on target.
