Am I correct in assuming Thorn's attacker is still alive and a threat?
OOC:
Definitely yes.

Thorn feels Maerik's strong hands ripping the cloaker off of him. Urdav's blade is free. A short nod at the big man and Kray, who is nearby, and Thorn moves to make quick work of his former captor, arcing the greatsword up and into its flesh, and again.
OOC:
If for some reason this thing dies before Thorn's second attack, Thorn moves on to the closest threat.

Thorn
BR3

Thorn shoves free of the massive creature and then chops down at with a double handed overhead swing. A huge gash splits open at the front edge of the beast as the heavy blade cuts through with full weight.

The mushussu lets out a growl and flips backwards in the pain, twisting and trying to right itself when it hits the floor. But when it turns back to try to leap, it's too late. Thorn is already there, Urdav's blade driving straight down, crashing the sharp point through skull and brains even as his boot crushed down on the shoulder of the beast to pin it to the floor.

The heavy mass of flesh flaps once more then falls still.

Akkeen
BR3

Akkeen, completely shrouded from the waist up by the oppressive monster, teeters and tilts nearly losing his footing. Still trying to fight, he turns towards the fireplace hearth and moves towards it in a stumbling run. He crashes the beast against the sharp edges of the stonework on the great pillar.

The bulk of weight is heavy on him though, and his knees begin to buckle. He leans hard against the hearth trying desperately to break free somehow.

The edimmu seem to be emboldened by the attack of the great cloakers and perhaps by the lessening of the light. They angle in closer and closer on their fluttering erratic passes.

One dives in and tries to grab one of the lamps sitting on the ground within the hearth pillar close to Bryn.

Another flies straight at Bryn, trying to flog him and grab him with its grisly neck tentacles. It shouts out all the while and begins to extend it's long tongue as it gets closer.
[ +- ] Shouts at Bryn in Heshbaan
Required Action Bryn: Comparison STR Athletics or DEX Acrobatics vs. Grapple Attempt below

The agile flier that sails through the openings in the hearth pillar grabs the oil lamp with it's tentacles and then flies right out the other side. It flings the lantern off in the corner. The flame flares up brightly momentarily as the oil flashes from the spill in mid-air, but then the light goes out as the metal cannister rattles on the stone floor in the darkness.

Now there is only 1 light, the last lamp sitting on the floor in the hearth pillar - right at the feet of Bryn who is wrestling against the edimmu attacker that is trying to entangle him!

The beast that is firmly clamped on to Akkeen thrashes relentlessly to tip and wrap the legs of its victim.

Action 1: Tail Attack with Trip Maneuver

Result: Hit. Victim fails Save. Tripped. Begin Prone Condition.

The sharp tail is merciless, raking at the young man's legs while twisting and pulling at the same time. It is too much - Akkeen topples to the ground, hitting the floor with a dull thud.

The beast quickly shifts, flaps it's fins out in full spread against the floor at the same time as the tail completely spirals around Akkeen legs.

Akkeen begin full-body Paralyzed condition

With a surprisingly fast leap, the beast springs into the air in a lurching pulse. Now it is floating as its fins roll and flap, unnatural as it defies gravity - and Akkeen is completely wrap up beneath. Even his mouth and eyes are bound tight.

The monster is about to escape with Akkeen captive.

Situation: This cloaker is going to its Movement for Round 4. I think there are split seconds during which a couple of fast movers could sneak in Opportunity Attacks. Range Attacks could also be in play.

Ruling: no map, so I'll say first two melee Attackers on the board can get one OA each. Ranged Attackers flow normally.

Responding to Thorn's movement, Maeriks lurches forward, raising both hands over head and bringing them both down hard in an attempt to smash the creature before it can withdraw.
OOC:
Almost a crit on unarmed strike! Also, it looks like Jabes "beat me to the punch" 🤣So I'll roll an opportunity attack with glaive against flying heads, assuming that they are flitting in and out of range, provoking Polearm Master feat feature.

And if Jabe's attack doesn't account as the second OA against the cloaker, then would Maerik's OA against it count as last round's reaction and this round's reaction is the polearm atatck?
[ +- ] Polearm Master
Then, stepping back and securing his footing, he picks up his glaive and drives it at the flying heads.

Thorn, Maeriks, Iasu

After breaking Thorn free from the first cloaker, Maeriks wastes no time and scoops up his glaive from the floor. He immediately puts it into action on perfect timing, using the extended reach of the pole to jab out an edimmu that underestimates the spacing and flies to close. Maeriks swats it down with the blade, causing it to falter and drop down close to the floor trying to recover. It scutters away on the floor on its tentacles, barely escaping a follow up strike from Maeriks's quick pole.

Maeriks Attack 1: Hit
Attack 2: Miss

Thorn turns from the downward kill stroke from the other cloaker and quickly covers the ground to the other monster that he sees taking off with Akkeen enwrapped. Thorn makes it just in time, thrusting outward with a stab at the beast's head when it is in mid-flight. The cloaker's quick reflexes keep it from being killed; it banks wildly to dodge, but not enough to avoid the Thorn's devastating attack. Urdav's blade slides straight into the beast at the shoulder, burying deep into its back, sliding flat under the thick skin, but luckily missing Akkeen right beneath.

Thorn OA: Hit

Jumping on the opportunity of a briefly stationary target, Iasu fires quickly and sinks an arrow deep into the monster's back, just below it's flat head. The cloaker winces in response to the deep wound.

Iasu Ranged Attack: Hit

Maeriks moves up just as he sees Thorn now dealing with an impaled but still deadly cloaker at close range. As the ferocious monster growls and flaps wildly, trying its best to strike out against its attacker, Thorn averts his face to avoid the snapping mandibles. Using all of his strength, Thorn pivots while holding the blade at full extension, shifting the beast and Akkeen around to the right...

...right into the oncoming blade of Maeriks' glaive. The sharpened steel hits with full impact and slices down the monster's left outstretched fin, cutting through from top to bottom. With a gory chopping sound, a huge swath of the fin flesh splits away, dropping to the floor like a slab of meat.

Maeriks OA: Hit

Unable to maintain the swinging weight any longer, Thorn arcs his momentum and halts at the right timing to keep hold of the blade as the bulk of the dying monster slides off of the two-hander. In a crash and roll, the monster bumps down on the floor with Akkeen in tow. One bounce and roll and it stops, belly up, with Akkeen still strapped in by the lower insectoid appendages.

The monsters tail releases and slaps at the ground, but not dangerously - in the last involuntary spasms of death.

Bryn (Response to TR4 Attack)

By the narrowest of margins, Bryn ducks away from the groping tentacles and lapping tongue of the harassing edimmu. He pushes it back with his forearms while protecting his face, but the foul wretch continues to flog Bryn inside of the hearth pillar.

Kray and Ahri have Action remaining.

The cloaker on the floor is downed, though its arms still seem clasped around Akkeen.
