Chandelier strike! - (1d20-1)
(20) - 1 = 19
As the group ducks into the side room to get reorganized, they hear a light sound of voices around the corner of the hall.
Ra u nak explains that they need to round that last corner and make it to one more downward spiral stair.
Thorn searches the bodies of the slain invisible servants as he removes their black robes and covers. On one of the he finds a sap, a leather strap weighted with lead on one end. Both of the men have a couple of lengths of thin soft-leather lashes -- restraints for tying hands?
Kray and Ivor inspect the robes. Both of them have blood stains, but hopefully it can be concealed by the black color.
Sizhen wraps the chain around the hoop of the chandelier to create the makeshift trap, and then springs it on the Golem.

Step 1 Chandelier Trap: Critical Hit
Sizhen braces the side of the heavy iron chandelier against his waist, grabs the rim with both hands, and heaves backwards with a strain. Timing it perfectly, he drives the bulky hanger forward in a labored stride just as the Golem surges out to grab hold of Bryn. The monster's arm slides right in between two spokes of the chandelier ring.
Quickly shifting from a pushing to a pulling motion, Sizhen drags the hanger and locks the great steel ring up to the giant's arm. As the bracket sets on the monster's shoulder, Sizhen then throws one of the central hanging chains over its head. The entire steel chandelier is now locked onto the Golem's back!
Bryn is captured by The Golem, but its left arm which holds Bryn is now partially bound and obstructed by the steel wheel bracket.
The long running end of the chain is still free and Sizhen has it in hand, pulling a length of it partially taunt as the greater part of the slack lies piled on the floor.

MR2 (cont'd)

With it's arm locked a mere instant before it grabbed Bryn, the Golem looks at its arm and shifts as it feels a new restriction of movement from the foreign obstruction.
Still clutching both men, one in each arm, the golem steps forward a few steps, shifting its arms in a short moment of confused reaction. With a burst, it tosses Bryn upward and outward into the air, a bit absent-mindedly perhaps, as if to get its wrapped arm free for a further attempt to regain complete movement control.
Impact Damage to Bryn: Damage below or half with successful DEX Save DC 13
Shifting focus back quickly to his other captive, the Golem raises Trece up in the air and tries to slam him into the stone floor with full force.

Palla Ba crouches down to grab Lok under the arms and drag him away from the melee. Lok is unresponsive and Palla Ba begins to attend to him, but he looks up to lend what help he can to the ongoing clash.

Len following up, for Step 2 of the trap...
Narrative angle, this is an attempt to throw some quick loops around the Golem and then start encircling it at high speed holding the running end of the chain, ensuring that it doesn't get caught or hung up. Working on leg wrap-up to at least hinder or at best restrain movement.
Mechanics: Attack Attempt, can use DEX Mod. I'll go from there.

Also, I'm not sure if I can use Palla Ba's help action for advantage on my attack as he used it to help a grapple break but I'll include it anyway to not slow things down and you can use the relevant roll.

TR3
Sizhen loops a length of the long chain around the Golem's neck, but when he pulls out some of the running slack to begin an encircling wrap, the monster makes a sudden turn. The chain catches unexpectedly on the steel wheel frame that is still locked tightly to the Golem's back. The length of chain that Sizhen is holding is suddenly jerked in the reverse direction, snapping it from his grasp.
Step 2 Chain Trap Attempt: Unsuccessful
The chain makes a loud rattling sound as it clangs on the wheel frame and scrapes along the steel floor. The Golem, still clutching a battling Trece in his right arm, seems disoriented because of the lack of full mobility of its left arm. With the large steel chandelier wheel now awkwardly cresting up behind its head and left shoulder, the Golem glares at Sizhen as if retargeting.
TR3
Trece shifts his torso and extends his leg to brace a foot against the Golem's hip, stabilizing his body even though the Golem's giant hand remains locked under his left shoulder. Steady enough momentarily he winds up and strikes hard into the monster's arm once, but misses on a second strike as his balance is stolen just enough when the monster shifts and turns.
Attack 1: Hit (first roll hit and second a miss anyway)
Attack 2: Miss
TR3
Bryn reengages after being thrown back. He drives in to stab the Golem while it seems to be distracted by Sizhen and Trece. Though Bryn has little trouble thrusting the knife into the monster's clay tissue, the blade barely leaves a divot in the thick hide.
Attack: Miss
MR3

The Golem turns to face Sizhen, but falters slightly, perhaps still struggling with understanding the restriction on its left arm and the foreign object locked under its shoulder. With it's left hand, the Golem tries to reach up to its own neck, where two loops of chain are now wrapped tightly. With the motion restriction caused by the chandelier spoke, it cannot reach the chains.
Having ignored his remaining captive for a brief moment, the Golem then raises Trece high into the air. Eyes still locked on Sizhen the whole while, the monster power slams Trece to the stone floor even as Trece tries desperately to shift his body to soften the blow.

Lok stirs, severely injured but emerging from his daze.
Palla Ba stands to action, calling out to Sizhen...
With little delay, the old man walks purposefully towards the Golem, and Trece, the captive. Reaching up boldly, he takes grasps the Golem's thumb with one arm and loops his other over Trece's shoulder.
He shouts aloud at Trece in a stern voice,...
Help Action to Trece if Break Grapple Attempt is selected.
Weekend downshift, so no requirement to keep pushing this along. Optional participation. We won't press further until Monday without everyone's entry.
Same with upstairs Disguise Party, post in if you want but if not we'll catch up in normal time. (Ha! Now that gang of violent thugs is the "Sneaky Sub-Thread" group, while the smooth operators are down in the basement duking it out against a Brawling Machine!)
Cool ish.
Good weekend,
J
With the others attempting to restrain the golem Bryn attacks again trying to find a weak spot in the clay thrusting upwards with his daggers then backs away.
