Elam
R5 (cont'd)

Once Balis is committed on the chase, Elam makes a sharp turn right, cutting towards the center of the room. As he runs he pulls out one of his short javelins. In deft athleticism, he throws on the move, targeting the spider fiend that has his back turned focusing on fighting Kray.

Attack: Javelin ranged v. SM5, Advantage from Flank positioning (with Kray)

As he passes, he calls out to Namtur and Akkeen nearby.
[ +- ] Otessite
Trying his best to not lose speed, Elam steals a glance back at Balis and finds that the beast man is looking left and stalled.

He turns briefly, though does not quit moving entirely, calling out to his pursuer,

Balis
R5

Balis roars out again when Elam kicks at him then runs past. Balis gives chase and almost catches the slippery runner, but Elam changes direction suddenly and Balis looses a step before he can make a corresponding shift.

When he makes the turn, Balis sees someone ahead. A man with a plank bow, standing over the body of Nabua on the ground.

Iasu detected by Balis

Balis slows and gauges distance. The archer too is on the move, shifting back further into the darker recesses of the room with the range weapon.

Then Elam barks at Balis with his insult.
Wretch! Dog! Balis will split skinny Elam's head and eat his tongue!

Enraged again, Balis resets on his sprint to catch Elam who is running away towards the north hallway.

No Attack against Opponent R5. No Damage Taken R5. Previous Rage interrupted.
Bonus Action: Rage

Uburatu
R5

Uburatu scans the battlefield quickly while still keeping his eye on Elam and turning north again. The battle captain knew what the renegade was doing, and it was beginning to cost time. Uburatu sees the waning number of pawns facing the invaders.

What is the solvent doing so far out of its drain pits?! It is consuming the hybrids!

Uburatu sees Balis faltering in his pursuit. "Catch him, Balis!," he commands. "GO! Pin him down!"

Uburatu glares at Namtur and Akkeen even as he marches away. Namtur glares back, but does not advance.

Curse Suter-Set's wild magic and the treacherous Pit - this ambush is on the brink of failure!

He moves forward quickly. He had to force Elam to make a mistake. He could still kill the dog, even if he had to withdraw after and regroup.

Movement

Seeing Balis right and Abros still distracted with the boxer center, Uburatu steps to the left to cut off the angle.

"Close right, Balis!" the captain yells. "Abros, kill that Seetan and get on line! NOW!"
Dec 22, 2018 12:38 pm
Elam sees Abros wrestling with the Seetan. He calls out to his young understudy as he loops around into the hallway behind the duel.

"An ill-managed stance, brother," he jeers. "Your weight is too far forward."

From the threshold of the hall, Elam keeps an eye on Balis angling in quick left. Uburatu's approach right. A wise choice for Slow Foot. Perhaps it is time to take the stand.
Dec 22, 2018 12:44 pm
Hearing Elam's gibe, Abros responds with some annoyance in tone, "This one is difficult to grasp, Elam. Boast from your safety."

Namtur
R5

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/qm8hzls3silt6uf/Rabisu%20Namtur%20portrait%20cut.JPG

Now free of his armor, Namtur pulls himself together, dealing with his pain as best as he can.

He listens at Elam's passing call. Though uncertain, he nods in acceptance and makes another quick eye contact with Akkeen nearby.

Glaring momentarily at the departing Uburatu, Namtur staggers over to the nearest spider fiend, bringing the war club high, and chopping down with all of his might.

Attack SM5. Heavy Weapon Master damage Option. Advantage from Flanking criteria.
Hit.

The hybrid wretch is pulverized - frame broken by the impact at the shoulder and neck, body driven to the floor. Instantly dead.

Heavy Weapon Master, additional Attack granted as Bonus Action when reducing opponent to 0 HP.

Looking down, Namtur notices a fallen myrmidon taking up his weapon and rising up from the floor. Though the soldier's guts are spilled and poured out in a bloody mess, he rustles like a moving corpse beneath the rear feet of the great bull that crowds the area.

Namtur makes a quick judgment and decides to protect the bull.

Bonus Action: Attack reanimated Myrmidon Y. Advantage for opponent Prone Condition.
Hit.

The hard point edge of Reave hits high on the myrmidon's back, right below the neck. The solder's skeletal stability is lost as the spine shatters. The briefly reanimated corpse falls back inert, splattering on the bloody floor.

Namtur treads across his fallen opponent and forces his way around to engage yet again, chopping violently at the fat spider wretch that is grappling with Bryn.

Attack 2: Attack SM6. Advantage from Flanking criteria with Bryn/Thorn.

Namtur kills his third opponent in a row, bursting the spider monster's skull as if it were a melon. The red-skinned horned devil pushes the obese body to the side with his shoulder and knocks it into the encroaching gel.

Cautious of the dangerous gel, Namtur steps strongly away to take up position around Thorn, ready for more opponents on the far side.

Finish Movement.

Akkeen
R5

Akkeen is nearly overwhelmed with both rage and grief, but he rises to Elam's challenge and moves in to join the fight. He watches Namtur tear through the battle space and emerge on the other side. Taking his place beside Namtur, Akkeen guards his brother's side and looks for opportunity to strike the approaching spider fiend unaware.

Reaction: Ready. Await approach of SM8 for later attempt at Sneak Attack

Uburatu would pay for this with his life. There was still time to save Adar-Malic. Akkeen knew it was possible.

Ahri
R5

Ahri scoops up a loose javelin from the floor and considers his options.

The terrifying gel! It is a churning mound of dissolving bodies and gore. It is changing from nearly clear or at least translucent to a pulsing glob of brown filth as the flesh, blood, and tissue of the victims within are quickly turned to sludge. The lights shine through from the opposite side and create the horrifying spectacle.

It is a room full of unbridled warfare. Ahri had to attempt a bold move to make a difference here.

He dares to do it. He dashes past the gel, running through the narrow lane at the back hallway. It is a precarious route, but he makes it.

Movement.

Myrmidon Z
R5

After being knocked into the gel by the bull, the myrmidon is terribly stuck. It is clear now that the soldier is less than a man, but instead some sort of thrall.

Seemingly unable to comprehend its predicament fully, the animated pawn cannot mount an escape attempt. Instead it thrashes at the gel surrounding it, to little effect other than allowing the gel to pull it deeper into its center mass.

Action: Attack gel. No effect

Onset of Poison, delayed effects
R5

Beset by multiple opponents, Thorn faces yet more strain as the spider venom from previous bite wounds begins to set in. His body is aching, like his muscles are knotting. The bite wounds themselves feel increasingly hot and painful. His head is suddenly throbbing, and wave of nausea overtakes him.

Ahri knew he could make it now. The dangerous spider fiend had been drawn to the warriors. While everyone is distracted, the way is clear.

Ahri takes a hold of the cradle lamp by the handle and makes a break for the rear hallway, sliding past the pulsing gel yet again. Ahri had to escape this deathtrap before it was too late.

He knew he had needed the light to find his way out of this accursed place. Now that he had it, he could make his way to safety while these fools killed one another.

But no "Poisoned" condition?
OOC:
Correct. No Poisoned Condition. Thorn made that Save at the time, so it is damage only - which was unavoidable on the hit.

I know the narrative was a little thick - just trying to explain the damage. Just think what the writing would have been on a Fail Save!

Gel
R5

The gel holds its mass bulk where it is and swirls the captured.

Damage issued to all Engulfed: MZ, SM11

A few pod-like swells burst out towards the prey closest to its edges. The globs of sticky acid sludge bulge towards the bull and the reanimated myrmidon. On the opposite end, another large pile breaks off to capture the fast-moving target making its way to the drain room. This one is easily detectable because of the light it carries.

Miss vs. Myrmidon X

The acid splashes against the thrall soldier's back, sticking to his armor and now dissolving it. Smoke hisses up from his shoulders and pieces of the dissolving leather and straps drop from his back, but the empty-eyed mutilated myrmidon still paws recklessly at Thorn.
