Wak winks at Vann and then nods to her, "I understand." Wak ponders, So security for a beautiful elf and finding an artifact in a cesspool like Lagos with a bunch of strangers? Ohh and we may have to deal with other runners. He smiles to himself, no problem! Wak shakes his head, "Why not, let's do it. How are we getting to Lagos? A corporate jet?" That would be nice, but considering how my luck has been going it is going a broke dick POS!

Wak looks back up, "Ohh, do we have any intel on the thief?" Hmm, do I know the name Samriel Lockwood?

Vann nods sharply, hears her out and then nods again. "Sounds like a good time. Are we traveling there through conventional channels? Border security, customs, and all that?", he sits back and orders an elderflower gin-drink through the open Node at the bar.

Box_Text says:
"Wonderful. Since we’ll be traveling together, you can call me Jane," the elven woman says. "Ms. Johnson is something I’d call my employer."

"So, before we leave, there’s a few things you should probably know,"
Jane says, then takes out a datachip and hands it over. "I’ve put together a list of inoculations that the World Health Organization recommends for travelers to West Africa. Some of these things aren’t in your normal medkit, so you may need to see a doctor before we leave. There’s some additional information about Lagos on the disk, if you’re not already familiar with the city."

"I'll pay for travel and lodging, so you don't need to worry about that. But, it's a small craft and you will need to travel light. Bring only the essentials." She stands, signaling and end to the meeting.

"And, I've got a photo of Samriel, given to me by my employer. Here it is." With that, she removes a photo print from inside her jacket and places it on the table in the room. The photo shows a heavily muscled elf with silver eyes and military cut gray hair.

"I'll have to pick up some equipment at home. When and where do we meet for departure?" the golden-eyed troll in the brown jacket asked, the first he had spoken since he entered the meeting room.

"Goldeye by the way. You can call me Goldie."
Dec 21, 2017 11:28 pm
Vann grunts, "If we need to go see a doctor, I need some nuyen... and a doctor. Anyone know somebody?", he looks around the room to his new comrades.

Looking back to Jane, "What is our entry point like? Are we coming into a public airport? Do we need to worry about carrying our... tools of the trade... past unfriendly security?"

He leans in close to the picture of Samriel and uses him image-link optics to store the picture on his 'link.
Dec 23, 2017 3:20 am
Jane nods to Goldie, acknowledging his comments.

Turning to Van, she says, "We're going into the public airport. Lagos is feral, so... well, I'm sure you know what that means. Nuyen will grease the wheels." She shrugs, then continues, "And, I did say, travel light. Only take what you need. Nothing else.
You can pick up more gear once we're there."
OOC:
A part of this run is leaving your gear here and then buying new gear once in Lagos. Because we just created these characters,
that is a little silly. So, just narrate your characters leaving their gear here and "buy" new gear there. Your gear won't change.

Mouse grunts in acknowledgement upon receiving the assignment and turns to look at his new companions.

"Looks like we're a team now. What do you guys specialize in?," says Mouse as he sizes up each of his companions one at a time.

"I'll start... I shoot things. I'll be watching your back. "

I’m legal... Jericho catches himself mid sentence, Guess that makes me the mage, to all of you. General utility, lighter on the spiritual, he says with a smirk.
OOC:
Happy holidays, all!
Dec 27, 2017 5:40 pm
Vann looks to Mouse with a smirk, "Eh, I too shoot things... when necessary... Um, I am also trained in the techniques of social engineering, and social and physical infiltration, as taught by the Gesaelig Court of the Sinsearach peoples...", he nods and sits back to sip at his fragrant gin drink.
Dec 28, 2017 2:40 am
Jane smiles at the group, and says, "I'll leave you all to get to know each other. I've got to meet with my employer and tie up a few loose ends." She stands and shakes her hair out, scratching her head for a second. "I'll see you at the air strip bright and early in the morning." She pulls out a small sheet of hardcopy and leaves it on the table next to the photo. With that, she walks to the door and leaves.

What's that, then? Jericho grabs for the dossier Jane had dropped near the photo.

It's fine, it's just like back in the corp, back at my desk. Paperwork. Not shooting. Right? Who are we shooting, anyhow? Jericho takes comfort in the paper in his hands, comfort in the distraction it affords.

The sheet has all the details of the 'when' and 'where' you'll need to meet with Jane the next morning.

The photo is of Samriel. There's nothing else left on the table by Jane.

OOC:
Were there actually any vaccinations to game-mechanical diseases mentioned in the flyer that we could/should get IC?
Jan 5, 2018 2:48 am
OOC:
No, nothing mentioned in the write-up. I think we're OK to narrate prep and meeting the next morning. Anyone have any mechanical stuff to do before meeting the next morning?
Jan 5, 2018 11:40 am
"I'm what people call a Street Samurai. I think that's a drek term though, considering that I serve no single master. Ronin would be more fitting to keep with the Japanese terminology. I'm also a driver, pilot, and mechanic. Been to Lagos before by the way. Back in the Seven King War. Where I lost my eye... Was a pretty hellish place back then. I doubt it's changed much..."

Goldie knocks out a Red Harvest from his package and lights it with his golden zippo, before closing its lid with a metalic click. He then gets up from his chair and walks over to the table to look at the picture of Samriel.

"So that is our competition? Doesn't look like much of a challenge to me to be honest, but hey, looks can be deceiving..."

"What's in the dossier?" he asks Jericho after the dwarf has had time to read the hardcopy files.
OOC:
I might need to fix some things on my sheet (living standard, starting nuyen, and not sure I ever did knowledge skills either), but I'm good to go other than that I think.
Jan 7, 2018 3:51 pm
Nothing she didn't already tell us, Jericho sighs dismissively. Guess I'll see you all bright and early. I better pack.
OOC:
I have to buy a couple reagents yet, but otherwise good to go!.
Jan 7, 2018 5:07 pm
Well, see you guys in the morning then. Gotta get equipment stuff prepared for Lagos., growls Mouse as he waves the team a goodbye. As he passes the entrance, he picks up his gear and gives it a once over and steps out into the rain.
OOC:
I'm all ready to go, I think.

OOC:
Ok! I'll post to move the game forward in the next couple days. In the meantime, feel free to give us a peek into what getting prepped is for your character! Also, we can handle any character/equipment tweaks as needed. Seems a few people have changes that need to be made.

As the others wrap up and take their leave, Vann remains in his seat and orders another drink. Raising his nearly-empty glass to the others as they go. 'Hells... if I've got a payday on the way - and who-knows-what waiting in Lagos, might as well enjoy the night!', he muses to himself.

Once alone in the room, he ventures out to the bar and starts mingling with the upper crust. He had little packing or preparation to do. He was carrying most of what he needed with him right now in his messenger bag. And the rest would be waiting in his loft, in a backpack. It wasn't that he hadn't unpacked yet from the move, he had, but that was all the things he needed for living. For 'Running, well, ya gotta be mobile. And those types of things, they never get unpacked... until they need to be used, of course...

Wak nods to the others as things wrap up for the night. So we have what looks like a militaristic elf causing our employer problems. Sure as hell wish we knew more. As the others state their abilities, Wak speaks, "My name is Wak. I handle assault rifles really well. I'm good with an axe, I'm fast and I can be sneaky when necessary. I'm good enough to be a secondary driver or pilot. Not worth a damn with computers, nor will I ever be good at schmoozing with the big boys."

Wak listens to the others and finally says, "See you all in the morning." And he heads out. A lot of beautiful people, but definitely not my kind of place. Maybe when I strike it rich . . . As Wak heads home he looks for an all-night clinic where he can get some vaccinations. Better safe than puking up my guts in the middle of a firefight in lovely Lagos. Assuming he finds one, he heads home for some sleep.

In the morning, he packs light and heads to the airport to meet the others.
