OOC:
Moving on...
Your team travels south on the Cairn road for a few hours, until you arrive at a landmark the Constable told you to look out for. Knowing you're near the spot where the bandit attacks have been occurring, what do you do.
May 5, 2018 8:03 pm
Batak searches for clues/tracks of the bandits’ whereabouts.

Rolls

Survival - (1d20+4)

(4) + 4 = 8

Investigation - (1d20+1)

(20) + 1 = 21

Perception - (1d20+4)

(1) + 4 = 5

May 5, 2018 9:42 pm
Sorgrimm joins his Dwarven brethren in searching the area for signs of these bandits.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+5)

(20) + 5 = 25

May 5, 2018 9:59 pm
Balak and Sorgrimm quickly find a path into the woods leading to the west. It is not a trail, per se, but a place where several people have made multiple trips.

The trees are moderately thick, and the ground rises off the road. You cannot see to where these faint signs lead.

"Who wants to take lead?"

I’ve got it, so long as someone can watch my back.

Balak grabs his shield, and, thinking about how excited he is to use his new weapon, holds his battle axe, realizing that it is a little heavier and bulkier than he is accustomed to.
OOC:
This is how I am going to flavor his play to account for the disadvantage due to the weapon being oversized.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+4)

(5) + 4 = 9

It's also Two-handed Handed and Heavy, so you won't be able to use a shield with it.

The first two in line should roll Stealth, and Perception of you haven't already.

OOC:
Sorgrimm, wearing heavy armor and being the healer, will wait for others to proceed. He will fill in the middle or his happy to cover the rear also.
May 6, 2018 6:02 pm
Having taking the night before to rest and recover from yesterday's ordeal, Dazzle is ready for whatever today will bring.

Now remember, Balak, your job is to stand between me and whatever is trying to kill me. And I truly believe that when they come for me, you will cleave them in two with that fancy new axe of yours. You should believe in yourself also!
OOC:
Dazzle is granting Bardic Inspiration to Balak. (+1d6)
May 6, 2018 7:22 pm
Balak is invigorated by the words of Dazzle the silver tongued, and he uses that inspiration to fuel his stealthy approach.

Rolls

Stealth w/ Bardic Inspiration - (1d20+1, 1d6+4)

1d20+1 : (11) + 1 = 12

1d6+4 : (2) + 4 = 6

May 6, 2018 7:23 pm
OOC:
wow, that didn’t read my rolls right.

That should be a 17 stealth.

Xella stays within a few feet of Sorgrimm, knowing how slow he can be and not sure how quick the other will be to help him if he falls behind. "I'm feeling pretty good about this job. Righting wrongs just feels good, ya know?"
May 7, 2018 1:24 pm
Felicia hangs near the rear of the group, happy to have the heavily armored few up front between her and oncoming threats. My magics should be able to reach out far enough that I will keep near the rear, if you don't mind. I don't much fancy being up in the fray. Even if we are righting wrongs. she says, keeping her eyes open for things, but winking at Xella briefly.
OOC:
Yeah, currently the dice tool doesn't let you resolve things like 1d20+1d6+4. It treats that as (1d20+1),(1d6+4). It'll be nice when Keleth can roll out the newer version of the roller which allows multiple dice types in a formula.

Rolls

Perception just in case - (1d20+2)

(4) + 2 = 6

May 7, 2018 1:43 pm
I've been following, haphazardly, mainly reading. Are we there yet?

Balak leads the party merrily into a trap. However, they aren't entirely as sneaky as he was prepared for, and his ire goes up before the trap is sprung.

Balak comes upon a small clearing (15 feet across) around a cave. He sees a black bear in a cage of dubious structural integrity, and within the rustling bushes, 3 or more bandits with bows drawn. You see two on the left (ten feet apart) and one on the right. The nearest on the left and the one on the right are twenty feet away from Balak when he comes into view.

Initiative rolls, please. If you beat the bandits' initiative roll of 8, please act.

Rolls

Secret Roll

Initiative - (1d20+1)

(7) + 1 = 8

"Here?"

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+3)

(12) + 3 = 15

Balak finally notices the bandits, and yells loud and a bit guttural (kind of like this), It's a trap!, which causes him to rage.

He then rushes to the left, and tries to smash the closer bandit with his two-handed battleaxe.

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+2)

(11) + 2 = 13

Two-handed battleaxe attack vs bandit (disadvantage b/c oversized) - (1d20+6, 1d20+6, 2d8+6)

1d20+6 : (19) + 6 = 25

1d20+6 : (17) + 6 = 23

2d8+6 : (42) + 6 = 12

May 7, 2018 9:14 pm
OOC:
Damage is +4, rather than +6.

Balak strikes the first bandit (L1) hard, nearly (but not quite) one-shotting him before he can fire his crossbow.
May 7, 2018 9:27 pm
So then I says to Mabel, I says, Dazzle was recounting to Felicia when the ambush is sprung.

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+4)

(6) + 4 = 10

May 7, 2018 9:34 pm
You there! Dazzle calls to the lone bandit on the group's right, What do you get when you cross a grizzly bear and a harp? A bear face lyre!
OOC:
The target must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or fall prone, becoming incapacitated and unable to stand up for the duration (concentration).
