I don't think they will be much trouble frozen solid. If I draw their attention, and you ambush them from behind, we could be ok.

Doc gets in to position. He knows he doesn't want to see what he's about to - but whatever this damned thing is, if it doesn't drive him out of his mind, will be easier for him to shoot at than those poor Cuban kids were during the war.

Mathis creeps round the edge of the room and steps into eyeshot of the creatures once he is on the other side. Before the creatures can react, Doc hits them with an up close blast from the alien gun. The spray of mist shoots out in a cone, enveloping the creatures.

The cone of frost hits the creatures and their chittering suddenly becomes louder and distressed. The two try to scuttle in either direction out of the cone.
