OOC:
DM, going ahead to post this in case you need to put all of this together as it triggers. Cato will hold fire until either the fog signal or if someone (high ground or low is attacked). At that point, he fires at one of the close targets.
Seeking to maintain partial cover as the angles and situation allows.
From behind cover Cato tilts out and fires his crossbow at one of the close sentries.

Attack: Lt Crossbow

The Professor cursed his carelessness. Foolish gnome, he thought to himself.

"Well of course he can carry his weapon," The Professor said, trying to think on his feet. "We are travelling through what some would call dangerous territory don't you know, you boys should be careful. I can easily unshackle him should I need him to defend us....or should he wish to partake in a duel. Always dueling, this one, I tell you! What will your new owners think, lizard?"

"Good work, keep challenging for a duel," The Professor muttered quietly in draconic to Skyro.

"Alas," The Professor continued to the bandits, deliberately exaggerating the sound of gold coins clinking together in the sack. "Whilst I would like to relieve myself of the sheer weight of this sack of gold, I don't think it belongs to you my good fellow. But I am a betting man, if Boraicho here can best this lizard creature then perhaps I could hand it over and continue on my way? At least it would be one less mouth to feed for me. Win-win I guess."
OOC:
Included persuasion role for fooling the bandits on the shackling of Skyro and another for wagering on a duel. Not sure if persuasions are done for Prestidigitation illusions or if viewers role some sort of opposing test?

An Arrow shoots out and hits the dirt at Vortrins feet. Looking above he sees an archer directly above him taking a warning shot.

"How about we just beat you senseless, take your gold and belongings, and dump your bodies into the bay when were done with you. Hell, for as much trouble as you have been following simple demands maybe a club to the side of your heads will do you well" both Boraicho and the man unsheath their weapons. Elijah gulps and takes a slight step back.
OOC:
Locked in Asterions initiative & choice and locked in Catos shot. Waiting on the proverbial trigger
Mar 13, 2018 11:48 pm
Skyro grunts, stubborn idjits he says in his mind; Though, I should try to continue to buy the flank team more preparation. He takes a step forward, and points at Boraicho, breaking his "magical" chains. If you're so confident in your strength to beat us senseless, why not have some fun first, and have ourselves a duel! he laughs, and draws his greatsword, looking around at the surrounding bandits Look at your leaders! Cowards are they that they can't handle to send their best to pick off an unarmored Dragonborn?! Maybe such weak leadership should be replaced if they can't handle proper combat! he looks directly at the bandit leader next to Boraicho, and smirks.

A smile slowly appears on The Professor's lips as he remains resolute, not flinching form the arrow's impact

"Have you ever heard the tale of the spider and the fly?" The Professor whispers, "I bet you think we are the flies don't you?"

"Duel him or not it bothers me none," raising his voice so even the archer could hear him.
Letting the seemingly hefty sack of gold fall from his shoulder, The Professor makes to pass it to the bandits and at the last minute fumbles with it causing hundreds of gold coins to fall clinking to the ground and running in every direction through the dirt and rocks at the bandit's feet.

Using the falling coins as a distraction, The Professor casts magic missiles on the bandit leader. He watches as all three magical darts of energy shoot from his outstretched hand toward the bandit leader.

Despite the comfort of his Mage Armour, The Professor then takes up a stance to Dodge any retaliatory attacks.
OOC:
Lock everything below the line in for when combat starts. The actions below the linebreak and rolls are paused if Skyro can successfully convince them to duel.

I am hoping the distracting shiny coins give advantage to those of us near the bandits on the ground. If so, I will roll again for advantage.

Not receiving a response about which group to target, he sticks to the plan. Deruvid casts fog cloud on the top archer that let the arrow go towards his comrade.
OOC:
You create a 20-foot-radius Sphere of fog centered on a point within range. The Sphere spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. It lasts for the Duration or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it.

Will cast and take the action with the sack of gold in the event Skyro cannot engage the duel

OOC:
Skyro cant engage the duel, were proceeding with the attack on the bandit leader, followed by fog, followed by locked in actions.Rolling for initiatives now. Order will go foes that beat Asterions 20 > PC's and Elijah > Bandits that rolled lower than 20
The three magic missiles strike with Ferocity and precision, hitting in the chest and throat of the Bandit Leader. Shocked, his eyes go wide and he crumples to the ground dead. As this happens, a thick cloud of fog accumulates over the entire arch, leaving the archer there blinded unable to see. He attempts to scramble out of the thick fog but cannot see.

Within halves of seconds, Cato's shot rings out from his crossbow and hits one of the archers flush in the back who cries out in pain, and begins to swivel around. It is then Asterions hex is placed upon him and a bell rings in the air. In what can be described as ugly the skin of the archer begins to dissipate and leave only bone, and the curse that was placed on that archer has now spread to his friend, who witnesses the bubbling demise of his friend and begins to panic and pull up his bow.

Elijah runs towards Boraicho, with fear in his eyes slightly and attempts to slash across Boraicho. The strike though is undisciplined and Boraicho is easily able to parry it.
OOC:
Skyro youre up to take an action.

OOC:
No, attack rolls are different than ability checks.

Also make sure when you activate rage you add that +2 damage into the roll result. I took a look this time to make sure it was included and damage should be 12 not 10, so bonus for you haha!
Barbera comes down and cleaves right into Boraicho's chest, causing him to also tumble onto the ground and begin to bleed out in shock (hes dead).

The rest of the bandits start to waver a little bit. Seeing their muscle die in moments has taken quite a toll on them. Steadfastedly, they prepare their crossbows and both archers on the left side take a shot, one aiming for Vortrin, and one aiming for Skyro.

The archer on the right, while heavily frightened and under the hex, takes a shot at Cato, which clips into your shoulder, dealing 5 damage (whose in partial cover).

Finally the last archer will try to stumble out of the fog cloud, clutching onto rock and staying low to try and maintain balance and direction

Once more, the dolorous tolling of a bell rings out across the valley as Asterion brings the curse on the archer to fruition. Seeing the other archer stumbling out of the fog, Asterion closes in, drawing his longsword.
OOC:
After this movement will I be engaged with anyone? It will matter to Cato.

The Professor immediately prepares and casts his firebolt cantrip at the archer aiming at him high up. He then rushes to the canyon wall in a hope it would cut line of sight between him and the archers.

OOC:
Vortrin getting to a wall wont provide cover vs the archers. If you take dodge, the firebolt cant be used. If you choose the firebolt, I need an attack roll 1d20+your spellcasting attack bonus which is 6

The archers are the only one left, you can use a dodge action to cause the archers to get disadvantage on attack rolls made against you Skyro
Mar 15, 2018 1:16 am
Injured but determined to stay in the fight, Cato reloads quickly, targets, and fires.
OOC:
Again, seeking to maintain cover.
Target priority would be active opponents, possibly the one facing Asterion (with a hope to gain Sneak Attack application for the adjacent opponent). If not then perhaps the other shooter who was Blinded?

Below, throwing out Attack, possible Advantage Attack Roll, and Sneak Attack. I know that maybe some, none, or all apply.

About 60 feet above you. Also the archer in the fog cloud is unable to be seen by you guys and he is likewise unable to see you.
You can close your distance on them or even shoot into the fog at a disadvantage if you pleased but for clairity's sake he is obscured to you and vice versa

Asterion engaged with Archer who is hexed. Sneak attack counts but attack will not land.
Also this wisdom save will succeed for the archer thats currently engaged with Asterion, if that helps Deruvid plan his next action

Vortrin's firebolt attack roll below. Sorry I thought I could attack and dodge in the same turn if I didn't move. If not then I will attack with firebolt then run to bandit leaders body and try and cover myself with it to gain cover from archers.
