I have some questions about the crystals. Perhaps you don't want to answer because we should just find out, but I'm a bit confused. This might be a very chaotic post, welcome to my head...
1. If we had been aiming our magic at the creature's head, or through the 6 feet (3 feet radius) orb around the crystal, would our magic not have hit it? Like Pyrrha's sunbeam aiming at its eyes? But it looked like it did have effect, was its head so big?
2. Clearly, since our magic hit the creature, it's not a "touch it and be safe from magic" thing. So wearing it on your head (fancy hat) won't save your feet from being hurt if you're taller than 3 feet. But this would also mean that if they put the stones on the ground to make a wall of anti magic anything "floating" more than 3 feet above the ground wouldn't be affected. So either this is not used as an anti magic shield, or all the magic search thingies used to check on the city sort of work by gliding over the ground (or less than 3 feet above it) to reach its destination?
Unless they build like a wall or net or dome or whatever with crystals 6 feet apart, which takes a lot of planning and building and is not easily done without anyone noticing and asking questions/warning someone outside the city.
I'm not trying to be mean or rude, I'm just trying to make everything make sense in my head! ^^I'm still a happy, very confused person;-)
Edit 1. Someone just suggested that perhaps a bigger crystal has a bigger radius... Which sounds totally plausible and takes a lot of my confusion away... It also explains why no warning messages were sent because once seeing the crystal people would already be in the anti magic zone so it wouldn't work...
