Remnant Session 1: Tickings out of the Blue

Dunwick bound about and finds his pursuer latches onto him at one point once his verse is song. His leg feels warm and wet he realizes before he kicks on the creature realizing a wound on his leg that wasn't there before.

Maximiano deftly strikes his target again a mandable snapping a breath away from his face missing.

Augustin assists someone and rushes a smaller creature, the warparty turns into the peanut gallery offering up information on his blind spot as he attacks the creature and almost misses before he counters.

OOC:

Giving a +1 from the party so you're at 7 total. Roll me some damage

The Ranger's companion bounds in getting behind the creature fighting Maximiano and distracts it as an arrow wedged between the plates of the creature's shell before shook loose as it howls.

Augustin bears through the pain and attempts to follow through with his attack. His jaw clenches realizing for a little creature it could take a hit.

"Bah! This thing is far to durable for its own good," Augustin says through gritted teeth. "There must be a better way to rid this place of these things..." he trails of swings his sword, and tries puzzle out another way to handle this. He turns his head to quickly scan the area for a better view of his companions, hoping they're making better progress than he.

Augustin slashes at the monster trying to get it from attacking him back and after repeated Zealous swings and shrill squeals of metal on metal he thinks it's pretty battered but still eyeing him. Looking around he notices his companions on the journey are still up and moving.

Maximaino moves in trying to punch through his target's defense. He feels the blow coming in but continues making it just as costly for the monster as it is for him to defend with an onslaught of offense.

Yes, Torrential. Because I rolled a 7 on my attack the beetle can counter. But because of Torrential if it does counter then I get to roll damage again.

Sorry might be confusing due to bad phrasing, 9 damage - your armor value (2) but since you're wearing armor you soak 1 less so 9-2+1 damage

Maximiano moves back a bit and sees the creature is also worse for wear as the bluish liquid leaks from it. Augustin has taken to trying to bash a second smaller beetle into a no twitching status. Fortunately you all hear other small groups rallying as well, Augustin's warparty has moved off. The Caravan leader and a few others spear into the front and sides of a large creature much like some of you are fighting only this one is holding the remains of two men in it's maw as it shakes in pain and anger.

Dunwick will wince and prance about, Using his magnificnt voice to cry out in pain. ahwhahhaahhhhhhhhh. limping about Dunwick will use his ability to heal Augustin. keep fighting for us... he says "weakly"

so whats the point of wearing armor if you take additional dmg for wearing the armor? i have the leather armor (ac 1) so i take 1 dmg from the attack then another 1 for wearing armor? then minus 1 because of the armor?

If you have 10 HP and take one damage with 1 armor you take 0 damage 1-1 = 0, if it's 1 damage from an attack with 1 pierce it would be +1 after dealing with armor so 1-1+1 armor (Pierce is Armor Piercing if you're wearing armor so you don't get to subtract as much from your armor's value. My apologies I'll review where you were attacked I may have explained it wonky.

Also still need a roll for the arcane verse to see what happened.

Yeah I think the confusion is from you didn't mention (or you did but we missed it) that the beetles' attacks are 1 Piercing.

My apologies Pierce 1 is Armor penetrating so if you wear armor the and it hits the value soaked is one less... if you don't have armor though no pierce which is wonky if you think about it (should hurt more maybe in the RP) but that's the mechanics I guess.

Dunwick's voice inspires Augustin and he seems to be a little more focused and not as haggered. Dunwick notices the sudden lack of clattering from the creature chasing him to realize it's climbed onto his hindside. It clicks once and vibrates before attacking him, Dunwick flails from the pain shaking it off again before the chase seems to be back on.
