Greymond: Several are caught in the blaze and a few are hanging back and refraining from attacking the mansion in an effort to avoid your firey wrath.

Basra:
Endermun sent a note to Silver.hawk

Basra shakes his head to clear it and then replies, "But of course. This is certainly the safest place around. I believe the wolves are still around the front of the house. Let me clear some more boards so you can enter." Basra begins trying to quickly pull the boards off the window.
OOC:

Greymond smiles at his bouts of flame. Take that ye damned dogs He overhand baseball pitches another vial out the window, continuing his barage on the wolves attacking the house. This time going for the more injured looking of the group to lob his molotov at.
May 5, 2018 10:12 pm
Ryn and Greymond: Your continued efforts, while ineffective at killing many wolves, does harry their assault on the mansion, not many willing to attack the front any longer. They keep in an orderly line about 20ft from the front door, barking and growling at the both of you.

Wil and Basra: Basra clears some boards from the window and the figure strides into the room, exuding a dominating presence onto Wil, exaggerating his already tall form.
[ +- ]
The amused look melts off of his face as he shifts his attention toward the hiding Wil. Why do you hide? I thought you had so much spirit, Master Wil, do not disappoint me. He waits for a response.
OOC:
He passed his insightful fighting check.

Greymond this time while frustrated at his low body count shoves his hand into his satchel one more time. This round however he presents a bag which doesn't smell very good, or look very nice. From the opening dangles ropes and a sticky tar substance clinging to the fabric snakes. He tosses it on front of the line of wolves. Head downstairs? Maybe we can get them to piss off?
OOC:
Forgot the description for the tanglefoot bag.

Now that the man is inside, Basra is attempting to reapply the boards to the window to prevent the wolves from coming in if they decide to come back. As he is doing so, he says over his shoulder to the man, "You picked the perfect time to come to the window friend. Those wolves were here just a few minutes ago and they would have torn you to shreds out there. Help me put these boards back up, would you?"
OOC:
I’ll be honest, it kinda creeps me out a little that he knows our names... haha

Ryn puts the broken boards up with one hand and casts mending. "There’s something about those wolves, I’m not as effective as I should be. Let’s see what we can do downstairs."
May 7, 2018 1:57 pm
Strange. Seems like we're keeping them back at least? He watches Ryn work his mending spell. That'd come in handy He quietly muses before starting to head back down the stairs.
OOC:
Edited previous post to add a description of what I threw. Also, does it sound like there are still sounds of a defense being put up? I'll head in the direction of the sound of fighting if there is any.

Wil steps out of the shadows, sword drawn. Well, I see you've noticed me. What do you want from us?
OOC:
Is it okay to assume that with an intelligence of 15, that Wil can surmise who this is? As a player, I assume this is Strahd, but should I roll to see if that's Wil's intuition, too?
May 7, 2018 5:33 pm
OOC:
It depends entirely on why your character thinks that. There will be no intuition checks because I trust you guys to look through your characters' eyes and assume based on things that are present or things that I give you through checks like History.

OOC:
I think Wil would take the fact that they were drawn here by a fake letter from the burgomaster, and he would trust Ismark's words to be accurate, that this is a snare by Strahd himself. However, Wil would probably be about 75% sure that this is Strahd, based on the fact that a servant of Strahd's would probably not know each of us specifically by name. He leaves some room for doubt, because he has been wrong before.

Ryn and Greymond: You go downstairs and find that there are no sounds of fighting at the present moment. Ismark and Ireena are at the windows looking out into the yard. They take notice of you. Well done, companions. I think they are about to leave. Ismark says, amazed at the sight outside. Ireena is less impressed Somethings wrong. Why would they just stop? She turns around Where have the other two gone? She glances about in place.

Wil and Basra: The man waves his hand toward Basra
Endermun sent a note to Silver.hawk
The man approaches Wil slowly, arms locked behind him Do you know yet what your presence here dooms you to? What fate awaits you in this place? He pauses for a moment and stops moving, turning to face Basra with eyes filled with terrible hunger. A ghost of a smile comes across his face. Do you know my name?

Basra looks slightly confused at seeing the windows boarded back up and the man inside the house now. "How did you get in here?" As he takes a good look at the man and sees his eyes, those cold, dark, HUNGRY eyes, he feels the hair on the back of his neck stand up and a warning deep in his mind of this evil presence.nafter the man asks if Basra knew his name, Basra responds in an even voice, "I have only just joined my companions, but I have heard a little about why they are here and what they have gone thru up to this point." Basra readies himself for some action by the man. "If I had to venture a guess, I would say that YOU are the reason. And if that is true, then you can be none other than Strahd. Count Strahd. The one I remember hearing about that lived hundreds of years ago. The one who built Castle Ravenloft. And the one who is after a recent acquaintance of mine."
OOC:
Basra would like to prepare to cast Guiding Bolt at 2nd lvl if the man makes any sort of aggressive act.

You must be him. The dark count of this land, no? Wil takes a step towards the figure.

What did you call us to this land for?

"Those wolves were nothing that I'd ever seen before. Perhaps Greymonds fire did enough to scare them off. Have you seen our other two companions, Wil or Basra? Come on Greymond, let's see where they got off to." Ryn starts heading farther into the house looking for the two.
