Wil takes a drink and wonders what foul things await the group.
Basra reads the letter and hands it back.
A moaning sob floats through the still, gray streets, coloring your thoughts with sadness. The sounds flow from a dark, two-story townhouse, across the square. Ismark seems to be ignoring the crying as he continues to walk around the block in the opposite direction.
Here we we are. Ismark says, walking through the broken gate to the door. He knocks and says Ireena, its me. I have finally found people willing to help. A slat in the door slides out, revealing a set of eyes, before the door opens and uncovers the rest of a girl dressed in noble clothes. Ismark quickly goes inside and the door closes. The slat slides away once again and the same set of eyes fill it. Approach the door. a feminine but sturn voice says.
The door slams and locks behind you. Ismark, your friends bring with them ill omens. The wolves haven't come for three days. The woman you presume to be Ireena says as she swifly puts on a breasplate and arms herself with a sword. You can hear howls and pants outside, scratching and tearing at the building from all sides. I am sure they are trustworthy. They were tricked to come here by Strahd. Ismark says, drawing his own sword and staying by one of the boarded up windows. Ismark turns toward you all. Companions, help us make sure none get through.

What did you call us to this land for?
Basra and Wil: Strahd points toward Basra Very clever of you, Master Basra. I am Count Strahd von Zarovich and I am the master of my realm. You are all guests in my house. He settles down and walks over toward the now-closed window. In truth, I find most of you very interesting. It is a shame about Master Baroth, however. Such a paragon broken by what was once a house full of foolish lunatics and madmen. His head turns as if he hears something Ask them why you can never leave Barovia. Until we meet again, dear friends, Farewell. You see his form begin to dissipate into a fine, dark mist and flow through the gaps in the boards. The sound of many canine feet against the hard ground rings out and gets softer and softer until it disappears. There is now only deathly silence.
Taking a moment to collect himself he looks to the others and asks, "So how do we fix this situation now? We need to figure out what kind of Problem we stumbled into and how to fix it, even if it's little by little."
I trust you, Ismark.
Turning to Ryn, he says, "This evil must be destroyed my friend."
Before long, muted sunlight falls through the boarded-up windows, lighting up the dust floating around the room. You are all awoken by the sound of fierce discussion in the hallway between Ismark and Ireena. Please, we have to leave as soon as possible. I fear for your safety. Ismark pleads. Ireena interrupts with conviction No, absolutly not. I refuse to go and leave our father lying on the floor to rot. With that it becomes once again quiet.

You can see that the chapel is strewn with debris, and you hear a soft voice from within reciting a prayer. Suddenly, the prayer is blotted out by an inhuman scream that rises up from beneath the wooden floor. Ismark doesn't react and continues to carry the coffin farther into the church.
Ismark sets the coffin down and talks quietly as the priestly man notices the presence of the party and begins to get up. It is the priest's son. He is possessed with evil and mustn't be let out. And Ryn, it may be different where you are from but this is the only way to lay him to rest that I will abide. As the priest approaches, you all notice that he looks exhausted. A soft, hoarse voice speaks Ismark, hello. Have you finally found travelers to help in your flight? Ismark turns toward him. Yes, Donovich, at last. But first, we thought that a proper burial for my father would be the best thing to do. I hope it is not too late to invoke the Lord. Donovich looks down at the coffin. No, no, of course not. Come, maybe one of your friends can help dig. Donovich looks at the three of you, seemingly waiting for a volunteer. The screams of desperation from under the floor ring out constantly, both the priest and Ismark ignoring it.
Ryn and Greymond: The screams continue. Father, please! I'm dying!
Wil: You're spending the morning having breakfast and spending the morning sitting in the Burgomaster's mansion.
This is most welcome! Thank you, Ireena.
After a few minutes of enjoying the food in front of him, Wil looks back up at Ireena and says, Now that the others are gone, I wanted to talk with you about our current situation, if you don't mind.
So, you are unaware as to why Strahd bothers with you. I understand that, as I am wondering what plans Strahd has with me and my group, too.
Can you tell me about what has happened to you in the last 3 months or so? Perhaps there is a link that we are missing between your recent past and the devil Strahd.
Wil is going to try to sense if she is holding anything back...
