"I will aid in the digging. No offense to the rest of you, but I'm probably the best suited for the job among us." Basra says, looking to the others. "Just be on your guard for anything weird...." He pauses, shaking his head before continuing, "in our current situation, most things are weird. Just be alert and ready for now I guess."

Ye? Better a diggin then a dwarf? I think not. He follows this up by making no movement towards a shovel.

"By all means, I’ll keep watch."

So to recap. We've been invited and lured here by a deceased burgeomaster only to find out it wasn't him at all but this vampire thing, only to be stuck 'ere indefinitely? He asks no one in particular clearly frustrated. Wonder what the hell he wants with us. He muses

Basra: You and Ismark are lead, carrying the coffin, by Donovich through the front door and around the church. A fence of wrought iron with a rusty gate encloses a rectangular plot of land behind the dilapidated church. Tightly packed gravestones shrouded by fog bear the names of souls long passed. All seems quiet. Donovich hands you and Ismark a rusty shovel each.

Ryn and Greymond: The screams continue. Father, please! I'm dying!

Wil: You're spending the morning having breakfast and spending the morning sitting in the Burgomaster's mansion.

Wil: Ireena gains a pensive look, seemingly trying to remember. It started small. Wolves would come and pace around the building, rats and bats would get inside, things like that. Then he would come. I can't recall clearly what happened when he was here or even how he came in but I remember many times where I would wake up from a dream and find him there, standing at the foot of my bed. I would wake up with marks on my neck. Then the wolves came. Night after night, they try to get into the house but we don't let them. Three days ago, it became too much for my father and he passed away. That is my account of what has been happening to me.

OOC:
Ryn, I believe followed the group out to keep watch while they buried their father. Greymond would've gone with as well.
How did your son come to be how he is priestly man?

Burial Party: As Basra and Ismark dig a hole where Donovich directs, the priest turns to Greymond, face wracked with sadness. A wizard in black robes tried to revolt against Strahd. My son, Doru, and many others acompanied him to Ravenloft. The Wizard was killed and so was Doru. But Doru returned and I managed to trap him in the undercroft.

House Party: I'm sorry, I can't remember. Ireena says after a time. She seems genuine.

"I'm sorry, that is a horrible story, is there anything else you can tell us about Strahd. We seem to be trapped here, but are looking for a way to escape."

A wizard you say? Hmm, wonder why he wasn't successful.... He cuts himself short hearing Ryn's words. er, uh, yes, many apologies.

Greymond, Ryn, and Basra: I'm sorry. There's no escape. Donovich says, saddened. Ismark and Basra finish the hole and lower the coffin as Donovich begins to pray over the grave Lord of the dawn, please deliver this noble soul, one that had been my friend for countless years, out of this wretched place. May his body be made anew and his life be reborn in a land far away and may his descendants find refuge from the devils that plague them. After his head rises and eyes open, he gives a caring look toward Ismark. Take her to the Abbey of Saint Markovia in Krezk. It is a holy place and it is the best hope for the refuge you seek. Lord be with you, Ismark.

"Well I don't believe there's no escape, I've seen to much and I don't believe it. We will find a way out even if we have to go through Stroud to do it. So lets be on our way."
