OOC:
Tianna, the red spiderling took a good hit from you and two powerful magical attacks that ended whatever he was trying to do. He's dead as can be!
Mee'haīl, pushed by the rage of his people, delivers another deadly blow that slashes though the spiderling's left legs and lower body. The creature crumbles into dust and cobwebs with small shrilling cries.

The last, remaining one, jumps back and tries to run away! At that moment, you see a crackling blue blast pass right next to you and stop the creature before it even jumps. It falls on the ground, hard and cold as a block of ice, and silence fills the cavern again.

*** End of combat ***
You got 100XP each for that encounter.

Rolls

1d10 : (3) = 3

1d20+5 : (6) + 5 = 11

1d8 : (4) = 4

Do we keep track of XP in character sheets?
As the last creature falls, the red haze slowly retracts from my sight and my breathing stabilizes. I slowly move greatsword to the scabbard on my back, strap the shield on and retrieve torch from the ground.

— This was fun, yes? I ask my companions somewhat cheerfully.
Jun 25, 2018 10:43 am
With the torch's flickering light on the ground, the paths that lies in front of you are spine-chilling.
Air is still, foul, and the organs that have been spread on the ground doesn't make things any better. There are cobwebs everywhere, and they seem to get denser as the path advances. The irregular half-hidden path on your left, from where three creatures came, is covered in web of every kind. The nasty smell seem to origin from there
The tunnel is more damaged here, with big rocks on your way to go forward or left, and a 4 feet tall cliff on your right followed by somewhat worked steps.

OOC:
@Kuroi that's what I thought yes, but maybe we can put that in the Party Tacker so that you don't need to edit your character sheet all the time? What do you guys think?
Jun 25, 2018 10:48 am
OOC:
You can even just tell us when to level up :D

What about that strange sound - is it still present?
Jun 25, 2018 9:54 pm
OOC:
@Kuroi I already tried that in other campaigns, but removing XP from the game actually hurts the player experience. You lose a useful progression tracking tool, and I lose a very useful teaching tool. So XP will be tracked :)
I'll put that in the Party Tracker, and give your advancement whenever you get some XP. So you currently have : 100/300 XP
The strange noise that brought you here isn't present anymore. It must have been one of the creature, if not several of them. As you observe them, you notice that the last spiderling that jumped on you has some... flesh on its carapace and head. Not the yellowish flesh that you've been spraying around and that already started to turn brown, but some meaty flesh. Decaying flesh, but still...

OOC:
Can Mih make Survival check to determine origins and ... approximate "time of death" for said flesh?
Jun 26, 2018 8:01 am
If he want to touch the disgusting thing, he sure can. Please Mee'haïl, make a Wisdom (survival) check to see what you can get from that putrid piece of organic matter.
Jun 26, 2018 8:18 am
I squat next to one of the husks and slowly examine it and pieces of flesh on its carapace by bringing torch closer...

Survival - (1d20+4)

(11) + 4 = 15

Tianni walks up to her barbaric friend and asks, What do you see, Mee'hail?

She keeps an eye out for danger as he inspects the remains.
Jun 26, 2018 2:07 pm
One thing is almost certain : the creature from whom this flesh comes was already dead when the pieces was ripped from it.
They seem to have undergone some kind of very damaging treatment. Even if it looks like its host have been dead for a good week, you can see upon close investigation that it has only been dead for half what it would appear. The nature of the creature, however, is impossible to determine from the flesh itself, and you had no idea until you found, barely visible in the mouth of the spiderling, a half shewed toe. A human toe, actually.
Jun 26, 2018 2:10 pm
— It looks like we're on the right track I say, pointing at the toe.
Jun 26, 2018 3:00 pm
Tianni gasps at the sight of the toe. Fiends, I will send you to your gods, to have you sent to the most awful places of the Abyss! She grasps her shield and sword tightly, and says, Let us all press on.
Jun 27, 2018 10:25 pm
OOC:
I didn't ask again, but you didn't say where you wanted to "press on". There are 4 ways from where you are, one being back. See above for the others.
Jun 28, 2018 3:44 am
OOC:
I assumed Mee’hail’s comment meant that we were headed in the right direction, and I was pressing in that direction.
Jun 28, 2018 10:11 am
OOC:
Shall we wait for everyone else or keep NPCing them?
Jun 28, 2018 10:16 am
OOC:
We'll keep moving. More details in the OOC thread in a few hours.
As for the difficulty, don't worry : I'm adjusting that on the fly.
Jun 28, 2018 10:39 am
OOC:
Ok, scenic question - did spiders appear from one tunnel or from multiple directions?
Jun 28, 2018 1:21 pm
The first three came from the tunnel on your left, the one that has spiderwebs everywhere. You're not sure if you heard the last one on the left or straight ahead, but it fell on you directly from some kind of whole in the ceiling.

Can Mih look for any tracks?
