Chapter 3

Against her better judgement, Ronda moves up to be beside Faebis, and tries to pull him back. "This is crazy! We need to fall back to one of the buildings! We're gonna get overrun out in the open like this!"

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20+2)

(5) + 2 = 7

@Faebis: No problem. You only need to move about 20 feet to be in range of your spare the dying cantrip.
@Krigare: Are you holding an action, if so, please let me know what the action is so I can add it to the post at the end of the round.
@Herod: No problem, there is a large tree stump about 15 feet from your last position.
@Ronda: Every member of the group has advanced in some way or another. Are you just trying to pull Faebis back? You're not worried about the others?

There are probably 25-30 mill workers but they are rushing about all over the place. Some are just fleeing down the road to Berda, others are grabbing axes and moving to defend themselves. It's pretty chaotic.
Oct 7, 2018 1:49 pm
OOC:
Krigare is holding an action, yes, but I don;t want it wasted if too few baddies are near him. He wants to use his Channel Divinity: Conquering Presence. It has a range of 30' and effects any creatures within that range he wishes. He won't use it on just one or two creatures, though. If several get close enough, he will unleash it.
Oct 7, 2018 2:42 pm
OOC:
Faebis will move close enough to use spare the dying then retreat back with any remaining movement.
Oct 7, 2018 11:37 pm
@Tomas: Could you please give me a damage roll for your shocking grasp cantrip?
Oct 8, 2018 6:31 am
OOC:
Here you go. If it's something like that in the future, feel free to roll it yourself. I'm not paranoid about luck or anything. Saves time.

Rolls

Shocking Grasp (lightning damage) - (1d8)

Arina says:
@Ronda: Every member of the group has advanced in some way or another. Are you just trying to pull Faebis back? You're not worried about the others?
About everyone, yes, but she feels more of a bond with Faebis and Krigare than the others. With Faebis in particular, for some reason she can't explain. Ronda is ready to fight, but knows from countless gang fights that getting swarmed is no fun.

She is readying an action: if an orc gets in her face they are gonna get smashed. Do you want attack/damage rolls in advance in case the readied action is triggered?.

Orc 6
The massive orc riding the stalion looks about for a moment as if in confusion.

Then it turns and bellows an order in a language that sounds ancient and gutteral. None of you know exactly what it says
[ +- ] Orcish
It raises its javelin and points it towards you. You see the lightning lance off the tip and strike four of the other orcs. Each orc yells in pain but the pain seems to add fuel to their fury.

Then it raises its javelin in circles over its head. Next to Krigare, a massive crude looking spear descends from a dark grey cloud and strikes out at him.

Two orcs rush up to Herod. Two more move up to Krigare, one moves up to Faebis and and another moves up to Ronda.

Ronda, moves in a practiced motion and brings down her fists on top of the orc threatening her. The blow lands like a hammer strike and the orc doubles over in pain.

Eight other orcs rush by you in and look like they are attempting to attack the mill workers before they can organise an effective defence.

Suddenly Krigare smiles evilly, draws and raises his gleaming blood red sword with orange streaks skyward and issues a challenge. The sky becomes a frightening blood red. Suddenly a whirlwind surrounds his sword and spirals up the blade. Krigare lets out a spul chill8ng war cry and the wind explodes outward. You see the orcs will to fight turn to flight.

The two orcs who moved up to Herod look terrified. One wimpers uncontrollably

The two orcs fighting Krigare seem uneffected.

The orcs fighting Ronda and Faebis look very frightened.
OOC:
Summary:
Tomas is currently unengaged

OOC:
Did the 8 orcs that move past suffer any attacks of opportunity? Or had any effect from Krigare's Channel Divinity?

Tomas shakes his head and thinks, "Nice try, Spring. Next time, maybe."

He hauls his war pick out and moves to hamper the orcs attacking the less battle-ready workers, shouting, "Sovelin, the workers!"

He chases them, getting in the midst of the greatest number of them, and attacks the biggest, meanest one within reach.
OOC:
Let me know how far away are the ones that don't decide to attack Tomas. If none or only one of them turn to attack Tomas, he'll AoO on either the most injured or weakest looking ones.

Herod tells the orcs, Flee, you fools!, hoping to convince them to flee.
OOC:
He will try to use the fear to persuade the orcs engaged with him to flee, as to (hopefully) avoid an AOO from them.
He then rushes up towards the orc leader, flipping his coin high in the air and muttering a prayer: Tymora, goddess of luck, grant me success as I fight this foe. Grant my limbs fury and speed.

He swings at the orc with his quarterstaff, and in a flurry of feet and arms flails at the leader, hoping to land some blows as he flips over the rear of the orc leader's steed.
OOC:
He uses an action to attack with his quarterstaff, and then uses 1 ki point for a flurry of blows as a bonus action.

With whatever movement he has left, he will disengage (using Drunken Technique) and catch the lucky coin in his hand.

Krigare allows the orcs in his path a good view of his grinning visage as he arcs his glowing red sword toward their heads. He utters not one word. Heaven's Call will explain to the orcs the folly of their chosen path.

Jesus. Terrible rolls all around guys. This is not looking too good.

@Tomas. None of the orcs provoked opportunity attacks from you and none of them appear to have been effected by Krigare's frightening presence.

OOC:

Initiative Order
Herod 21
Tomas 18
Krigare 14
Ronda 7
Faebis 7
Orc 6

@Herod: Going forward if you would like to convince someone to do something in combat then that will take your action. I'm going to allow you to attempt to intimidate the orcs into running away. Usually that would be done with disadvantage as you are currently fighting them but the disadvantage is cancelled by the frightened condition. I'm going to give both orcs a will save equal to your roll.
Herod dodges out of the way as the two orcs make half-hearted attempts to bring him down. Botbe swing wildly and Herod rusges up to the leader of the orcs but despite aiming a flurry of blows at the creature, none of them seem to land.

Tomas rushes off after the eight orcs who are attempting to harrass the mill workers. Two break off from their attack and rush to meet him. Tomas tries to hit one with his war pick but he misses. The other six charge at a small group of workers about 25 feet away near one of the buildings.

Krigare launches a massive overhead swipe at one of the orcs attacking him but his blow misses by a fraction of an inch. The orc glares back at him. In response the two orcs launch a co-ordinated offensive and one of the orcs manages to land a glancing blow.
OOC:
@Krigare: Take 6 points of slashing damage.
Ronda launches a lethal two strike combo culminating in a jab that hits the orcs face like a truck and drives its nose straight back into its brain. The creature falls to the ground dead.

Faebis tries to land a blow with his mace but the irc facing him us too fast and moves with his shield using it as cover. Faebus fails to land a blow on the creature. However, the creature's defensive strategy hinders it when it makes its own assault and it to fails to land a blow.

The leader of the orcs barks a word of power and the massive floating spear behind Krigare thrusts at him but the attack passes harmlessly to the left of his shoulder.

One of the orcs, previously engaged with Herod turns and flees back towards the edge of the forest. The other moves away from Krigare and moves in to help put its leader who is currently engaged with Herod. Its eyes, wild with fright, fail to focus and it accidently throws its weapon fifteen feet away in the direction of the forest.

The leader of the orcs lowers its javelin, nudges its mount and charges Herod. The blow strikes home and Herod feels the tip of the javelin strike his shoulder. It doesn't hurt much until you feel a massive jolt as an electrical current runs through your body
OOC:
@Herod: take 4 points of piercing damage and 5 points of lightning damage.

Summary:
Tomas is currently engaged with two orcs
Herod is engaged with one orc and the leader of the orcs.
Krigare is engaged with two orcs
