Chapter 1: Stolen Goods

"Usually a head is good proof... or maybe both in this case?" he says, slightly unsure, "Bah, just bring back what ye can!"

"So ... what's the reward?"

"A total of 300 pieces of gold," Drek says, "But that's only as long as the stories are true. If they're not totally right, then it'll be less."

Krogir-Vaam perks up. "Oh, that's a lot of money. Which mountains do we find them hunters what seen giants?"

Drek pulls out a map and points to the general area, "Should be right about here," he says, "If them hunters were reliable."

The goliath nods. "These hunters have names?" asks Krogir-Vaam.

"Yeah, they're brothers. Sam and Dean Wandchester," he says, "They usually hunt out of their cabin here." he finishes, pointing to a spot on the map not far away from the place the giant was spotted.

Intrepid hunters? That are brothers? I wonder what other advice they'd have on hunting! My book would be so much better with more notes in it! he says holding up his spellbook.

"Kay, we'll get to that in the morning. No use chasing giants at night. Hey, let's go back to our manor and have a well-deserved night's rest."

Seraphina will find a decent-sized cupboard and set up her bed roll in that. She will whisper good-night to both of her friends telepathically before nodding off.

Krogir-Vaam sets up to watch over the area while the others sleep.

The night goes by and you all wake up feeling refreshed the following morning.

"Hey K-V!" Seraphina says with her mouth full of breakfast rations. "That was a great job you did of asking Drek questions last night. Got us some solid leads! I figure I can track that giant pretty well in the woods. I mean, how hard is it to track a giant? Their feet must leave huge footprints! Probably knocks down trees and stuff in its path."

"Feldty, you got any giant-slaying spells?"

"If they got two heads, are they twice as smart?" Krogir-Vaam wonders aloud.

"Probably. And twice the eyes, noses and ears! I bet they can probably see twice as far, smell twice as strong, and hear twice as good too."

Krogir-Vaam nods. "We'll have to be careful," he says, voice weighted by gravity.
