"Hello, Captain!" I head towards the ship, yelling and waving my arms to get her attention.
Sep 23, 2015 12:38 am
Crolwell, slightly suprised that Xadira beat him to it, runs up behind her, also waving his arms and shouting. He smiles a toothless smile toward the ship... at no one in particular.

As the captain catches sight of the elf being followed by a very large old man, both waving and calling out to her she barks a few more orders to her crew and disembarks the ship quickly to meet you.

"Hail, have you business with my ship? Who has sent you?", as she is saying this she catches sight of one of your pins. "Aye, you be the ones I've been waiting for. Good, good. Wasn't expecting so many elves, but I s'pose you should be able to handle yourselves if you've been assigned the task. We have some quarters on board. I only have one rule on my ship...", her tone suddenly goes from trying to actively be polite and kind to a very intense seriousness, "Don't. Screw. With. My. Ship."

As if a switch had been flipped she is suddenly kind and jubilant again. "Now, let's get packed. It's to be maybe a weeks journey to the island we seek. Is there anything you would like to gather or bring before we depart?"
Sep 23, 2015 3:08 pm
Aelar takes a minute to check his pack, "No, I think I have everything that I'll need," he says, and approaches her and holds out his hand, "I am Aelar Galanodel, we appreciate the use of your ship, captain..." he trails off, waiting for her to give her name."

"I've been sent by a secret organization to rescue someone other than the prince with the help of a Tiefling ship captain. What have I done to displease the gods..."
Sep 24, 2015 3:55 am
"They call me Torment", she says, half-trailing off as she sees something that draws her closer. She strides past Aelar up to Crolwell. She looks him in the eye for a moment, "You must be Crolwell. She told me you would be coming." Suddenly she gives him a big hug. As she withdraws from him you see another thing quite uncharacteristic of the tiefling nature. A single tear is rolling down her cheek. She quickly wipes it away. "She told me we all have important roles to play in what is to come. You most of all Crolwell."
Sep 24, 2015 4:14 am
Crolwell nods and embraces her back, tears streaming his face. He has no idea what she is talking about, but it means something to him. He bumbles his words as he attempts to say anything intelligent.
"I understand. My role has been playing out for such a long time. Years, years go by and I forget much about everything. Only my heart continues to beat for her, everything else is fading. I welcome you to the family".
Crolwell will nod, believing he said his part, and turn to his fellow adventurers. For a second Crolwell appears to be a man of intelligence and power, an Emperor and a king or a leader and a father. Probably just a glare of the sun as he smiles at each one of you with his toothless grin, smacking his gums as he blankly calculates what is happening. And then, in a voice much more like Crolwell's:
"Hey! Did you guys see that! She 'ugged me!"

Aelar watches in fascination as, once again, Crolwell appears to be something other than his usual self. He pats Crolwell on the shoulder, "That she did, and it looked like a good hug, my friend," he says, purposely not drawing attention to Crolwell's strange actions.

"Good to meet you, Torment. I am called Xadira. I should have everything I need. I'm ready to leave whenever you are!"
Sep 24, 2015 5:50 pm
Coming back to the conversation Torment sees Xadira. "Welcome, you can all head on to the ship. There is a quarters below deck you can stay in. We shall be disembarking soon", as she says this you hear a rope snap and a crate smash onto the dock, "Erm...yes...soon. Please make yourself comfortable, just remember the golden rule."

"Well met, Torment." Certainly different than any other Tiefling she's had the misfortune to meet Ütés relaxes a bit around the ship's captain. Never having been on a ship before Ütés plans to spend as little time as possible under deck and is bit excited to get on board. "If you are sure there's nothing we can do to help prepare for departure then I'll head on board."
Sep 24, 2015 9:51 pm
Crolwell chuckles to himself and elbows Aelar in the ribs.
"Ah? Jealous? hmmm? Well I bet if you..." Crolwell will stair blankly at Aelar for a couple of seconds and then turn to the ship and then to Ütéz who had just spoken.

Aelar will board the ship and settle into his room, then he will head back up to the deck, take out his harp and begin playing for the crew, trying to use the music to break the monotony of their work. He will also try to see if he can tell what all they are loading onto the boat.

PhantomNimbus sent a note to Naatkinson
As you load into the ship the crew is finally starting to get the rest of the cargo onto the ship. The captain insists your help is unnecessary. She goes back to barking orders.

Aelar is the first to see a passenger quarters it is one room about 15-20 feet long that has 6 cots lining it. Each cot has a small footlocker at the bottom of it. The accommodations are basic, but not unlike most ships. Within the hour you hear the captain calling for the sails to be hoisted and the anchors are pulled back up.

Careful not to be in the way of any of the crew as they go about their tasks Ütés remains on deck while the ship starts to take sail.
Sep 29, 2015 10:49 pm
I claim a cot, them join Ütés on deck watching the rest of the crew members before I turn to her. "Have you ever traveled by ship before, Ütés? I hear it can be quite invigorating. Seems incredibly dangerous, however. I myself much prefer having both feet on a solid surface."
Sep 29, 2015 11:06 pm
After his performance Aelar will join the others. Quite comfortable with sailing, as he's done it a few times, albeit on short journeys only, he smiles at Xadira's enthusiasm, "Oh yes, it is always a pleasure to be out on the seas, though not everyone handles it very well."
Sep 29, 2015 11:13 pm
"I've never been on a ship before." Ütés says excitedly. "Small boats, here and there, down river or on a lake, but I've never been out to sea before. I'm quite looking forward to it."

Letting herself forget her responsibilities for a brief moment she smiles as she looks out across the open sea.

Crolwell will be bumbling about the ship, generally getting into other people's way. He'll probably be running up and down the deck of the boat as it bobs up and down in the water.

The first few days pass without event. The cool sea breeze is perfectly offset by the warm sun. After the first day you can no longer see the land behind you. The blue of the ocean stretches in all directions. At night the captain checks progress with the stars. Most nights the captain and crew take some time to relax, play music, drink ale, and have a decent meal. You are always invited and the nights go about well.

By the third night you are well out into the ocean. There should only be two more days travel until you make land. You are all bunking down in the quarters provided when, you suddenly find yourself having a weird shared vision. You see each other. You are all climbing up to the deck of the ship. There is a form there. A woman who is in billowing robes, crying. Even as she weeps she is a visage of beauty unlike any you have seen.

After this vision you all suddenly awake with a stir. You can see, the look on each others faces. You have all shared this vision. Then, you hear it. You all can hear it. The sounds of weeping. It sounds like it is coming from the deck above you.
