This turn the chimeras are not getting into melee range, but they are passing close enough to use breath weapons. You'll have to use ranged attacks/spells, or do something crazy.

Alalla darts to the starboard side of the ship and begins to hurl her glaive at the monsters. Despite the difficulty in aiming with only one eye, she manages to land a solid hit with her glaive and graze the chimera with an arrow.

Chimera 1 takes 19 damage and must make a strength save or be knocked prone.

Then he casts greater invisibility on Al.

"Much better", he mumbles to himself as he walks back toward the center of the ship

Ras is feeling helpless again, and he really hates that feeling. He suddenly gets an idea and tries to turn one of the chimera into a frog.

Ras casts Polymorph. Chimera must make DC 16 Wis saving throw or be turned into a frog.

Ug throws caution to the wind, literally, and hurls himself off the ship at an oncoming chimera. Whether by luck, surprise, or the humor of the gods, Ug somehow lands perfectly on the creatures back. The goat head turns back to look at Ug, as surprised as the barbarian is that that worked so well. Ug and the goat both burst into laughter.

Gripping the hair on the back of of the beast Ug steers it slightly to the left at the other incoming chrimera. Ug kicks inward with his feet into the beasts rib cage and a jet of fire and smoke shoots from the goats mouth.

two chrimera need to make dc 15 saves or take full fire damage. Ug scratches the goat behind its ears, "Good fire kitty!".

Round 1 Summary

As the airship passes onto the plains of the valley below, the chimeras attack! An odd cacophony of roars, hisses, and bleats assails the party's ears as the monsters swoop in from both sides. They pass close by the airship, nearly within the range of hand-to-hand weapons, and produce gouts of flame that cover nearly every inch of the deck. Strangely, the fire seems to come just as often from the goat heads as the dragon ones (Everyone needs to make saves, details to come).

The party has a difficult time responding to this aerial battle. The chimeras scream by in such a blur of fur, wing, and scale that it's hard to even see if the companion's projectiles are hitting home. One chimera appears to have been hit, glaive through its leg, and it tumbles from the sky, clutching awkwardly at the impaling weapon. Its wings flap desperately to keep it in the air, but can do no more than soften its landing. The monster's three heads roar up at the airship, and then it limps back to the cliffs, apparently done with this hunt.

One chimera comes flapping toward the ship, but shudders as Ras' spell hits it. All at once the fearsome monster becomes a slimy frog. Limbs flung wide in panic, the frog's momentum carries it right onto the airship. It hits the top of the rail then bounces onto the deck and flops along the boards. When it finally stops near Ras' feet it twitches weakly and lets out a disheartened croak.

Much to the astonishment of monsters and heroes alike, Ug flings himself off the airship and onto the back of a passing chimera. With a kick of his heels he manages to guide it towards the other chimeras and unleash its fire breath, catching, two of them in the flames.

The remaining chimeras form up to make another pass at the party, and this time they look to put their teeth, claws, and horns to good use.

Startled by how much flames hurt, for the first time Fergy really notices a downside to his new body. No more fire resistance.

Also, mass cure wounds.

Al's mouth drops open with an injured gasp at Fergy's comments, then she rounds on him. The last thing he sees of her before she vanishes are her teeth and tusks in his face as she snarls.

Get a hold of yourself, woman, she hisses internally, embarrassed. Calm, CALM.

Feeling detached once more, Alalla summons her glaive and hurls it at another monster wheeling overhead before returning to her bow to loose a couple arrows. Her invisibility makes it easier to aim, since the creature continues on its path without thinking to take evasive manouvers around the seemingly empty deck.

Chimera 4 takes 44 damage and must make 2 strength saves or be knocked prone.

Ras draws his new quarterstaff and swings it experimentally. He's practiced with it, but never used it in actual battle. Now seems a good a time as any. With a word, the quarterstaff begins to glow. The effect is somewhat lessend by Ras's poor attempts to dodge the flames that suddenly surround him.

Ras casts Shillelagh

With a roar, Ras attacks chimera 6 and whacks it soundly on the stupid goat head.

After the battle against the giants, Zenithral congratulates the group exclaiming how far they've come, going from barely surviving one frost giant, to slaying four, and then some.
OOC:
Everyone gained 13 temporary hit points, effectively healing everyone for 13 hp.
As the Chimera's attack, filling the ship with flames, Zenithral twirls his bow, bending the flames around him (Casts Absorb Elements). As Fergy's spell heals most of the remaining burns, Zenithral grabs four arrows, infusing one with a pulsating shadowy shroud. He fires each one in a rapid volley, then two more, finishing off one chimera in a shadowy blast and mauling the head of another.

(Chimera 6 takes lethal damage. Chimera 7 takes 60 damage.)

Round 2 Summary

The chimeras dive in again, those who can muster up the strength to use their fire breath again doing so (Everyone except Ug needs to make another save against fire), and then they land on the airship, clawing and biting at whatever they can reach (Fergy takes 10, Zen takes 9 unless Shield, after resistance Ug takes 4, and Ras takes... 34!).

Ug's steed tries frantically to dislodge the barbarian, but has trouble reaching him. The goat head turns around and butts him in the face. This chimera has not managed to land yet, and continues to soar high above the ground around the ship.

Ras notices the frog at his feet has not fared well in the fire, and is rapidly returning to its monstrous self.

Wow, with the fire, claws and heads all over the ship, Fergy just takes a moment to appreciate the beautiful chaos of it all. And accidentally forgets about the invisibility spell. Oops, maybe Al won't notice...

Hurting pretty badly, Fergy touches Ras and heals the two of them.

As the chimeras fly in, Zenithral sees Alalla knock one down and he tries to dive underneath the incoming enemies. Zenithral was never very acrobatic, however, and tumbles to a stop. (Zenithral is prone, granting advantage on attacks this round) He fires desperately at one of the weakest ones, but though the arrows hit, the chimera fights on. He grabs onto the arrow lodged into its side and sends shadowy energy swirling up his arm, through the arrow, and into the chimera. The chimera falls with a scream, dark mist streaming from its eyes and mouths and flowing into Zenithral, mending some of his wounds. (Chimera 7 takes lethal damage. Zenithral regains 13 hit points with Second Wind)
