So we rolled initiative. But you described in the "Speedy PbP Combat"-Thread that we won't use initiative... I am confused.
Also I think you didn't finish your message to Heister/Andras.

You're right! I've been very confusing. With the game starting up anew I thought we'd keep turns traditional at least until we're all used to each other. If you guys get into a second combat maybe we'll try the speedy way.

For anyone who isn't currently in The Oozing Temple adventure, the next one I start will be 4th level! Feel free to pick one of the subclasses, make a 4th level character, and make your intention known. And of course, ask any questions you might have!

I'm very new and I'm very interested in this playtest! I'll give the lesser-tested subclasses a read and pick one that seems interesting.

I just noticed that I misread the "Dueling" fighting style... I read "another melee weapon" and thought that I could use a hand crossbow, combining with crossbow expert...

What I am actually asking is: Could I switch the fighting style to Defense?

I'm just about ready to start the level 4 playtest, which will be called "The Night Blade" or something. I think that MattParody and SphericalSphere1 said they'd like to be in it. Preference goes to those not already in the Oozing Temple, but I'd like to fill this adventure out with 4 or 5 players. Anyone else want in?

Druid: Circle of the World Tree
Monk: Way of Hellfire
Rogue: Trapsmith
Warlock: The Riddler
Warlock: The Verdant One
(And a new warlock pact option, Pact of the Graft)

Narratively, both Corunir's chain mail and his shield would have been corroded (or maybe just his shield, and chain mail was untouched)
1. Do we bother with such distinctions?
2. I don't suppose that means a net penalty of -2 AC if both are damaged?

Oh, I wouldn't give you a penalty for each of them. We'll just say -1, for whichever you prefer. The rules say that it's your armor, but if shield makes more sense we'll go with that. Up to you!

And did you make a ruling on my dragon rage flame-wreathed blade being immune to this corrosion, Araklusta?

Haha, yes I'm fine with the fire preventing corrosion. Pretty sure we've got one somewhere, yeah. I'll take a look around.

Most of the subclasses are available on dnd beyond if you join the playtesting campaign here. If there's a subclass missing that you really want on there, let us know and we can focus on that one!
